People say I often dress in dark... I don't feel like I have any real friend yet... (I used to... I moved) people say I don't speak a lot... but I don't harm myself... 'cause it hurts xp and those who sometimes speak to me say I'm nice
so I don't think I'm emo

I don`t really know. Maybe they`re not really 'emo,' though. Maybe just 'rocker'. And they try to look like J-Rockers and everthing.
So, maybe they`re just trying to bring some... Asian back or something.
Eh, I don`t really know.

What do you guys exactly consider emo? I'm personally more punk-ish because I hang around a lot of punks (Oi Punks, not G.C. Punks). I've seen only one Asian girl at my school who dresses in that emo-like style, but I think it looks awesome. Somehow it seems that Asians can really pull that look off.

Ahh I'm seeing a few self-harm comments about emos... But honestly the wrist cutting thing is so stereotypical... Emo people are basically people who are misunderstood... People who have a different outlook on life... Did I word that right?... And most recently, Emo is a style... I style of individualism or rebellion to what we should look like... A mass majority of Emos do NOT slit their wrists... And they're NOT constantly depressed or suicidal... Those are all just stereotypes...
*Cough* Sorry, I just had to state this... I have a huge issue about stereotypes... Mostly because I'm stereotyped everyday for a bajillion things... And it pisses me off... *Sigh*...

I'm not a full-blown emo, but I guess you could say I'm half. I dress how I want, and it's pretty casual, but usually different. A lot of the time, I can't dress the way I really want to, coz the 'rents won't let me out of the house if I dress in a 'such and such' manner. I painted my fingernails black, but my mother-dearest blackmailed me to get the color off. If I'm not all 'don't-touch-me', then I'm eccentric, loud, obnoxious, have an uncontrollable temper, am destructive, like eating and I'm a funny person. I also love rock, techno, j-pop and j-rock.
It really depends how you classify emo, to classify yourself as emo. Some people just dress that way, and I'm cool with that. But some of them don't have recurring thoughts of death, suicide, angst etc. I took a medical psychological test, and it told me I had bi-polar disease (a syndrome where the victim has frequent severe, radical changes in mood) and that I was severely depressed. And when I think about it, it actually made sense to me. When I casually told my mom, she broke down crying saying that I wasn't and it wasn't my fault I thought so, and it was just part of my growing up. I kinda felt for her. No parent wants to see their child depressed. But, even she knows she's lying to herself. My mood is extremely unpredictable, I tend to get lost in things, I like being alone, and I'm currently recovering from Self-Infliction.
For some reason, I like listening to angsty music too. sweatdrop Play it loud, play it proud. A lot of things have influenced me to what I am today. A very long story. I know some other asian emos though. But they'd throttle me if I said anything. wink .Mikemo Cat-Boy Ahh I'm seeing a few self-harm comments about emos... But honestly the wrist cutting thing is so stereotypical... Emo people are basically people who are misunderstood... People who have a different outlook on life... Did I word that right?... *Cough* Sorry, I just had to state this... I have a huge issue about stereotypes... Mostly because I'm stereotyped everyday for a bajillion things... And it pisses me off... *Sigh*... And you, you really can't judge. I respect your opinion entirely and agree that wrist-cutting is often associated with emos, even though most actually don't and has become a stereotype, and that emo has become basically a style; and people just dress that way etc. But there are people who actually feel pain, and don't necessarily classify themselves as emo. Some do, of course, but I don't really think of myself as emo. I don't do the skinny jeans thing, I only gel up my hair when I'm bothered and I dress pretty different compared to other emos. But please realise, that slashing one's wrists isn't the only thing that an emo can do to his or herself. I know someone who burns themselves, and another who bruises.
But I'm all for the anti-stereotypes thing. Right on.

@[xonigirixteax] Very well stated...
But for the record, I wasn't judging... It is others that judge, I was simply stating as well... Wrist-cutting is not entirely assiciated with Emos... It's simply that people judge and title people with self-mutilation problems... People title those who inflict self-harm as Emos... Thus, Emos are stereotyped to have to cut their wirsts or inflict self-harm... This may seem like it is just my opinion... But to be honest... If you were to ask someone who says there Emo if they inflict self-harm... A large majority would say they don't... But if you ask people that do inflict self-harm upon themselves if they're emo... Most likely they are to say no... I have been classified as an Emo... I have heard whispers behind my back saying I was Emo... There was even one case that someone called me Emo behind my back and I heard it... And when I did hear this, I purposely cut my wrist a bit at them... And told them "Well, I guess I AM Emo"... To simply state this... It's basically society which causes people this pain... People are stereotyped... And and up living up to this stereotype... But I guess That's just my opinion...
