Ever been mistaken for a different background?

when i really am chinese!

i dont get it, usually people just assume an asian person is chinese... so why cant they assume i'm chinese?? nooo they just have to think i'm from some other country. =.= /annoyed/

Last time I was in the Philippines, the maids that worked for our family were saying "Americana!" when I passed by.
A few weeks ago someone thought I was Taiwanese.
At the airport in Canada, someone asked me if I was Filipino. (I'm half only though ^^; )
In second grade, people thought I was Chinese.
So it's been a fun guessing game all my life.

People got the chinese part right but then it's like Japanese, Taiwanese, Combodian, Loas, Korean ect. ;_;

I've often been mistaken as a Japanese person. It's effin annoying becuase I'm Chinese. (not that there's anythign wrong w/ Japanese people)
but many people also think that Chinese is consisted of, "Ching, chang, choung."

Its very annoying to me because you would think people had better memory the same people ask me every day. I'm vietnamese, but the only things that pop in their heads are chinese, korean, or japanese. so now when people ask me to pronounce words to them I just don't even say anything. It just makes people start asking more stuff and I just want to go on with a normal day. If they were new to the school I would understand and tell them, but every single day is just too much.
