Into the Mystic

I'm more of a religious philosopher. Even before I came to Hellenism I was wary of magic. And mysticism in any format is a difficult concept to grasp, although I'm trying to change that. Although I'm more mystically than magically inclined. That's one thing I like about Hellenism is that there is no pressure felt to be a mystic or magic-user (often, those people are pressured to stop, but that's a rant of another color) unlike I felt when I was more ecclectic in my practice.

Myticism and magic. For sure. Though I am not 'anti-religious' in any sense. I guess I just haven't found my calling, or whatever you want to call it.
When I was younger, and just starting in Wicca/Witchcraft/Occult stuffs it was the mysticism that drew me in. And I did try to incorporate some religion in (using the Wiccan paradigm), but it was a commitment that at the time, I just couldn't make. I have this problem in all parts of my life. I have a hard time keeping a schedual, and getting things done. I'm working on it though wink

It really wasn't until I got thrashed by Reagun ban in ED that I started to seriously think about what I had done, and what I wanted to do, in terms of Religion, Mysticism, and magic. Which was good, because I hasn't been on my mind for some time. I am (very slowly) exploring the religious side of things... We'll see where that takes me.

I partake chiefly of mysticism- most of 'my stuff' is in my own head, between me and The Great Whoever, and sometimes it has to do with things in the material world. I use magic pretty rarely, and religion to me suggests a kind of disciplined devotion that I'm not necessarily able to manage right now. I'm not worshipping, per se- I'm just going along, doin' my thing.
