mcr got me into the used, black flag, pensy prep, the acadamy is,all time low, hellogoodbye, basically alot of alternative and power pop/punk
its all good
w/o mcr
id be into rap and latino music by now cuz of my bf

mcr directly got me into the used. but after that i began hearing about many other bands such as AFI when searching for mcr info and such.

Well basically they got me into punk and rock and stuff like that cause i never listened to the stuff i listen to now.

shutupandplay For me, they got me into Black Flag, and The Misfits (from the numerous mentions of their influence.) and The Dresden Dolls. (from an interview with Gerard.) So....anything else? EDIT: Ah yes, I'm such a ********. They also got me into AFI, Alkaline Trio, Smashing pumpkins and Joy Division.
I give MCR Full credit for getting me into the Dresden Dolls.
I saw them listed in "whats on your ipod" type list on iTunes one day.
So I decided to google them and liked them ever since.
BTW: I saw them at a Panic! At The Disco concert. They where the opening band. But yeah.... The MCR thing came much earlyer lol and actualy got me into them 3nodding

They got me into rock in general.
The only music I had was rock and hair metal.
*Hates hair metal and was stuck with rap. Not good rap either.*
Then, once I got into their music I started off slow with The Used.
So, I had no idea what bands were good I started to watch Steven's Untitled Rock Show and other things on Fused.
I started watching at the best possible time because there were mostly bands I liked being played so I then knew what to look for.
They were like my gateway drug into music.
And I like The Dresden Dolls, but I wasn't aware there was any mention to them by MCR.
Explain to me?

They got me into The Used a little bit once I heard that Gerard and Bert had become the best of friends (even though they're currently not anymore...)

i just thought of this one.
in a way they got me into Muse.there was a slideshow of Ray on youtube and i watched it.the video played time is running out by muse and i pretty much got addicted to it and got absolution

Well, they were staying at the Paramore and i thought "Hey! There's a band called Paramore" and i must say they are awesome!

Basicly everything I listen to came from MCR.
Everything Rock-wise, that is.
Every Screamo band or Punk Rock band has its roots somewhere in My Chemical Romance.
Uh, yeah. Without My Chem, I'd still listen to Simple Plan. mad
all the other stuff is from:
Bright Eyes
Jess than Jake
Coldplay.

they got me into the misfits a bit more than i use to listen and i also started listening to AFI. im sorry, but davey and gerard almost look alike, but gerard is still the #1 hottie. 4laugh whee 4laugh whee 4laugh
