Cutting: The real facts

I myself have a problem with cutting, and it bothers me when people who do not know the facts jump to conclusions.

I just want people to understand. And for those people who do cut, I want them to know that there is hope.

It's not something you can stop just like that. I myself still struggle. In fact, I was in the very mood to cut last night. But instead, i cleaned my dorm room and used a red perminent marker on my wrist. It helped a lot more then you would realize.

Omg...so was looking at the main forum...and was like...wait...my thread has 113 pages! I almost had a heart attack. Then i realized that it was simply that the one below had that many pages. I was able to sigh in reliefe.

I don't actually cut to releive stress, or even to get back at my parents.

I do it for blood to drink, but not that often.

One of the major reasons why cutting tends to change the mood in a person is due to the fact that cutting tends to release not only the blood but endorphins in the brain. It's this release of endorphins that tends to make a person feel happier and not as stressed out or what not.
However, cutting is also an opiate, similar to drugs like Heroin and such. With cutting you need to cut bigger and worse cuts each time to get the same feeling. It's just as horrible as any other drug to tell you the truth.
But yea, just thought I'd add that...

I locked the other thread for numerous reasons, none of which were negative. This thread is simply a better source for younger members as well as being respectful to all involved.
