I wouldn't break up a relationship with a friend based on whether or not they were a smoker or an ex-smoker. That would be hypocritical of me, not because I smoke (which I don't, nor have I ever), but because I believe that people should be able to do what they want with their bodies as long as they aren't hurting other people and as long as they're mentally stable enough to make that decision.

I wouldn't be able to reconcile breaking up a friendship with someone over smoking with that belief: it's too much like trying to manipulate someone into doing what I want; and this is something I really feel, so I doubt that thought would even cross my mind and if it did, it wouldn't want hang about for fear of being beaten up. neutral
