yeah i guess they grew up thinking that love is between man and woman so yeah but love is love just like u said its just like when u fall in love with someone u find totaly un atractive fisically but then when u talk to them and when u spend time together u know y u feel like that and even tho when u sit down and think u say wow he or she is so not what i imagined, u get to feel all this sutff for this person and u even see them like the mosr beautiful thing on earth. I've seen how bad some of this can be.
I was banned from a Guild for putting in my extra information that i like yaoi.
I told the person who was yelling at me that nowhere in the rules did it say that i could not put that.

Then i read his profile and found he's REALLY Homophobic.

It kind of matters in what kind of environment a person is raised in too. Some parents tell their kids it isn't right. Personally, my parents never said that it wasn't right or that it was right. When I found out about yaoi and shounen ai I was seriously confused about it, I didn't know what to think about it. So I asked my mom and she told me it was wrong. But, obviously, I didn't listen to her since I'm here! Like someone else stated, it's mostly because people don't understand it.

My opinion is that it's not really the content but, the idea that freaks people out. Example: Look at the past few years with gay marriage (in U.S.*). It's not about the love or anything, it's just the idea of two dudes getting married.

I guess its just because they aren't used to the idea, or are homophobes. But it really pisses me off when people are all ew because they think that all yaoi is all the time is just two men ******** graphicaly when in reality there is much more, say shounen ai or slash or non lemon fanfics. Apparently, some fail to understand that.
But it's not my choice to say whether you have to like Yaoi or not. I respect all opinions, but people don't have to be so rude about it. Like this one time, I was at school, drawing some. Then one of my friends has the nerve to go up to me and say "Ew, they look ugly! How can you stand those anime things?! They're so ugly!"
And of course, I got really pissed off.

She still won't shut her yap about anime/manga. And neither will the others who dislike Yaoi/Shonen-Ai. It's just what they think, and as long as they don't be rude about it, I'm fine with their decision.

Some people like several others have said- fear it or don't understand it, and the bible tells them to hate it. But there is NO where in the bible that actually states that Gay marrage/ gay love is wrong (of course I could be wrong since I haven't looked at a bible since 95 =_=)

And some people have the whole 'gay love is wrong' so deeply engrained and they're so narrow minded at the same time that they won't listen to the other side and SEE that nothing is wrong with it.

I'd think people would see benefit in gay couples. Boy + boy = can't have babies, and the same with girls + girls. It keeps our world from over-populating and gives orphan children homes (since alot of homosexual couples adopt children.) And, like it's already been said, you can't help who you fall in love with.
