I love AFI and I have to say that their new album definatly isn't as good as their other ones but it still is the s**t, and I'd have to say that either shut your mouth and open your eyes, or the art of drowning are my favourite. My true favourite is Sing the Sorrow, but I didnt say it there because its so different from their original stuff that it doesnt make sense to say that then because it is to difficult to compare them.

AFI isn't emo. They said themselves, they're alternative rock. I watch IMF (the International Music Feed) and they had this feed on them for about 5 minutes and at the end Davey said:
"We are AFI. An alternative rock band."

well every band says "We're not emo.." so what's new?

anyway i listen to AFI sometimes. I have the Girls not Grey. simple but bippy. haha! though they confuse me with their look, they deserve such recognition. And yeah, the previous albums sound different than the newer ones. I can't judge coz it's how they evolve as a band.. Overall, they're good..

Emotional Shinobi

Emo is altie.
Every band our sound that is a branch of something else ((emo=soft emotional punk which has been extended into something of a greater creature.))Altie is also when bands that were 'Punk rock ' back in the begining like 1976.
So pretty much everything that was rock in elvis/swing/hellbilly times is original rock n' roll. ending with bands like aerosmith.
Altie also means differnt.
Which would be most of the music the 'emo/punk/powerpunk/indie/raprocker' listen to today.
So now 'altie' is genre of music for genres of music.
and most music an 'emo' would listen to would be 'altie'.
Or emo-core.
Genres that aren't alt=Classic-Aerosmith.
metal-children of bodom.
black metal((kinda altie, has a gothic feel which would make it sorta 'altie'))-Marilyn Manson
Heavy metal-SlipKnot.

I'm 6'5'' martial artist.... they could try... it would be very funny. Besides its not like AFI have the musical impact of modern punk contempories such as Rancid or even as if they have the social commentary of NOFX. They are simply a band, that had a good sense of humour, that has dried up and left them making sub-par music. I miss the old AFI.

Oh and is it me, or does Davey Havock (besides giving Daves a bad name ><) look like a complete gimp without the mo'hawk up?

But, I think he should have long hair again...it worked with his femineme figure.
