Eh, I think they're alright.

Personally, I don't quite get all the hype over them...

Because they are something different.

Of course "Nihil novus sub sol".

But her voice is quite unique. Their cabaret style is not something too common. Her piano skills are pretty much self-honed. They have an act that is really all their own.

And really, this hype is fairly new. They've been around for a fair while, and just recently have they been getting so much recognition.

I love The Dresden Dolls!

I went to see them back in January, and I must say, thier CD's and photographs DO NOT do justice to how they preform live. Thier show was phenomenal, not to mention Brian looked much prettier tha he does in photos. (I was tempted to glomp him... but I restrained myself...). Thier preformance was very theatrical.

During thier show Brian came out in a full penguin suit and played a drum solo. It was awesome! heart


As for thier style, I love it. They combine youthful and carefree playfulness with the realities of the adult world.

I've heard one song, Coin Operated Boy. ^_^ I liked it, and I thought it was HILARIOUS. My friends brother didn't even get it at first! XD He was like, "That's a great song." and my friend and I just busted out laughing because he didn't understand it! Then we told him and he was like, OH.
