Don't worry, in 2008 China's adding Tai Chi to the list of olympic sports - and that involves swrods (though it may not in the olympics)
They're also adding Wushu, which should be very fun to watch.

Epee, Foil and Sabre are already Olympic events, so that's ok.

Tai Chi doesn't have swords, does it? eek

I was so sure that Kendo was the only one..

Kendo the only Martial Art involving swords?!

Heh.

Tai Chi has a sword form (and a broadsword form), Wing chun has numerous weapons (Butterfly Knifes, Spears, Staffs, Sticks, Chinese Pikes, Swords, Broadswords...) and then Dolce Par Escrima is roughly translated as "Stick and Knife"

Well, only Eastern martial art with swords.

...though I've been disproven.

There's Iaido as well, and though you later qualified Eastern martial arts, Fencing too.

Football...it's just the epitome of ghastliness.
I have theories on football, actually, that it's all part of a consipracy to keep the masses stupid. Football has been proven to lower the IQ of anyone who takes an interest. This is clearly a plot by the government to prevent a coup. But, on a more fundamental level, what bloody maniac thought "I know, I'll put 22 men in a field and get them to charge around trying to kick a glorified pig's bladder between two stick"? I mean, it's just so wrong.

I like cricket, though. Reassurringly uneventful.

I'm sure it evolved naturally. One day a group of men were a bit bored, and one of them says 'So I've got this inflated pigs bladder...' and then...

Ok, I don't know where I'm going with that.

I don't think this is a big sport, but does anyone watch hockey? You know Ice hockey?

Although my school could never host competitions due to it being abroad I really enjoyed playing netball.

Ice Hockey = great fun to see live matches.

Never played a game - I don't fall down on ice much anymore, but being knocked down, despite the pads, is sure to hurt.

Play the locals!

..oh the comedy. Either tribesmen, or stoners or just random people who have never played a game in their life.

It's sure to entertain!

I was wondering what may be a stereotypical British sport and what sports the members of this guild take part in.

I take part in rock climbing.

I sail, which is pretty stereotypical of the brits.

I would like to note however that the olyimpic coverage pissed me off so much it as almost untrue

"Hey we one another medal in sailing today, but enough of that lets talk about how Paula Radcliffe cried and pulled out because she couldnt win"

I'm campaigning to be allowed to play Croquet in PE at school. Or jousting.
And I have a plan that the PE and History departments will get together and reenact historic battles.

Archery, with a proper English made Longbow

Both I and my brother did Archery at one point.

I however, did it far better.

Ah, but I am better at climbing.

I like Mountian Climbing. And I've just recently started learning how to shoot. I like both. But am not that great at either.... yet. I almost shot my dog the other day. It wasn't my fault....

Ah, but given a .22 I could sever one of your testicles at 50 yards.

Climb you was out of that one..
