From the point of someone that like stones in general, I think that's really cool. But, I'm not neopagan or Wiccan or anything like that, so would never have/use one for other than aesthetic purposes. But I would like to see some pics.

Those are really quite beautiful blades. Is there any way to make the surface smoother though? Would it be possible to use a belt grinder to even it out? I'm also wondering just what the process is of making one, but I suppose that's asking a little too much if you want people to buy yours and not make their own.

How sharp are they and how fragile are they?

I could grind them but that takes away from the purpose of them i think... i make them in a similar way theyve been made for thousands of years, basically just chippin off the edge of the blade...

They are VERY sharp... My father lost the skin above his knuckle and has many scars from when he first started and was gettin started... they can cut fresh bread w/o bending the bread... and they are rather sturdy, but if you go hunting *which is what they were originially made for, not that we hunt but they coudl be used for that* they can stab but dont try and twist...

Hmmm....

They are lovely. I might want one for a gift for a friend.

~couldn't use them herself... prohibitions aginst twisting when a boar has charged makes them impractical~

I wasn't suggesting just grinding them down. I really do hate the way a lot of blades are forged without the care of hand making it. Instead of just cold grinding, but after you have chiseled out the shape, to just smooth it out so it might look like a regular metal knife. Granted, there will be those who want it just the way it is (I'd want one like that in addition to the smooth one) as it does seem to stir up some rather nostalgic emotions, particularly those of Native American descent.
