[drabble ORP] Side-business! (Toki)

Damaris had noticed several others crowding over towards the booth. Her nerves jumbled up in her chest at her, screaming to 'stay clear and move along' but her curiosity won out more as she slowly approached the table.

Fidgeting fingers gently rubbed her ears as she tried to think of something to trade. Aureole would have scolded her for not even attempting at getting some sort of memento of the event. Probably more so as she started fiddling with the broach that sat in the middle of her torso, glimmering in gold with emerald in the middle and several ruby gem stone teared down at the bottom.

She managed to fidgeted it enough to pry it free of her dress and gently set it on the surface.

"I... Um...Is this enough...?"

Efreet was playing with a lava rock in his hand as he walked with his date. Beneath the black hardened crust it glowed faintly between cracks and was warm to touch. Or would be for anyone that wasn't him. It was one of his neater party tricks, like being able to shift and change any part of his body as he wished.

The rock melted back into his hand as Tanita tugged him along and he flashed her a grin. "Oh man, you think of everything T!" He beamed at her, following her to the photographer.

Hopefully they wouldn't want two pieces but he could figure something out he was sure.

"Gotta have a memory of us that isn't all dreamy yeah?"

When they approached Toki he grinned brightly at her.

his whole body is made of magma and he fashioned a tux out of it.

"Awesome! And yes, that would be nice..." She grinned at her date, and walked right up to the table, and brightly beamed at Toki. "Can we get a photo together for this?" She set the piece of Pyrite on the table, and then leaned close to her shorter date, wings furled at her back for the ease of the photographer. "I hope it's enough."

She looked very happy, and she was clearly enjoying her evening with her new friend. She also felt they were delightfully complimentary in colors.

"Gold!"

Toki swipes the coin before it's even reached the middle of the table.

"I will spend it wisely!"

She holds it with a vice-like grip, clearly not intending to spend it at all. It's a little difficult to hold the camera and the coin, but apparently it can be done. Using her elbow, Toki pushes the polaroid over to the young lady.

"Such a valuable-looking object! I couldn't possibly," Toki exclaims, grabbing it immediately. She pins it to the rug. An elegant, beautiful accessory is ruined forever.

The camera is whipped out and used with unnatural speed, lest the sweet-looking girl change her mind and ask for the broach to be returned.

"So much gold today? It was surely the right decision to attend this prom!"

A wiser person might have noticed that this is not, in fact, gold. Toki is not that person. She grabs it, shoving it down her collar.

"Come now, stand closer together - let's get a photo of the two lovebirds!" She exclaims, completely misinterpreting their relationship. She leans over to try and push their faces together, but the pyrite starts to wobble, and she hastily sits back down. Against all odds, the polaroid seems to have turned out just fine.

At some point in time, Xavier Hollow had shuffled over to the ghoul at the table, looking frankly frightened of her. There was a thin waif of a ghoul next to him, antlers much larger than they seemed at first glance; Xavier's hand was cautiously near to hers without actually touching, as though he was terrified of scaring her off.

Mostly because Xavier was still startled that Helmut had even said yes to going to the prom with him, but, well, he was still trying to figure out why she was still his friend even after the fact that he'd felt the same way about her for the last million years (or so it seemed, at least).

"U-um, hello," he said hesitantly, stammering over the words. I b-brought you u-um - th-this - "

Xavier held out a black feather looped on a thin gold chain, expression terrified.

"Ahh, young love!" Toki croons, with the smooth, dulcet tones of a middle-aged underwear thief. Jewelry is shoved around to make space for the feather and chain. A campus guard looks over, concerned.

"Come, come, stand closer! Why is everyone so apathetic?"

Making a disturbing jangling sound, she leans over again. She's getting awfully close...this looks a little precarious--



With a shriek, she topples over the table into the two students. People collide, the camera flashes, and an incredibly awkward-looking polaroid skids across the floor, landing at their feet.

"W-well! Look at that! W-what an, uh, adorable picture."

Toki scrambles back behind the desk, securing the feather again just a little bit tighter.

"Thank you for the shiny! And - in case I forgot to mention earler - no refunds!"

"It's so sparkly! And purple. How decadent!"

She stuffs it into the side of the rug. It's becoming markedly harder to move around, but what's a little mobility impairment when you have all these shiny things?

"Smile for the camera, my canine friend!"

The camera, now missing a good amount of diamante (you can see them scattered across the floor), spits out another polaroid without any major difficulties. Still, you probably wouldn't want to stand too close...

Ulmuka and Needle were, of course, fully decked out in theme clothing for the prom. This wasn't their first rodeo - err school function - err themed social event. The massive owl man cooed in excitement, his head tilting a bit too unnaturally at an angle as he examined the shiny student covered in baubles.

"Oohh.." His sounds dragged like the hooting of an owl, "What a, eheh, fabulous look for the dance."

A big gold ring was popped off of his tattooed finger and held out in offer as he grinned and giggled, "This may, hee, round out your look!"

Slaughter showed up and looked at the photographer in confusion for a while, an uncomfortable while, before suddenly smiling when he had an idea of the best kind of shiny he could offer.
He held up a single claw and ran off. He never came back returned after a few moments with something clutched preciously in his hands.

He opened his hands and revealed a small, very dead, shiny beetle, though you could hardly tell it was shiny as he offered it exactly as it was slain, belly up. Possibly still twitching a little.

He liked Toki's style and hoped such a wondrous prize would contribute significantly.

"What is this? This is not shiny at all--oh!"

Toki flips the beetle over and proceeds to pry the shell off the insect carcass with her bare hands. It is horrific. People wander closer to see what's going on, and leave in haste.

The shell now balanced precariously on her head, she holds up the camera the best she can. It takes a while, but the camera finally manages to focus and take a picture.

"Thank you! Come back again! Bring a friend - and if you find any more shiny things, remember to peel them off the host's body first!"

"Shiny objects for a picture" Lihua didnt really know what she could give. The answer didn't come to her until she saw your image in a mirror. She went back over to the small booth she reached up and took off her crown "I hope this is good. It's not much." Lihua had actually took it from one of her older sisters rooms. They were me an to her that day and Lihua took it to make herself feel better.
