"What's it do exactly?" Protection rune, maybe? He remembered them fron the void, albeit they looked decidedly different, but magic relied so wildly on intent anyway that the shape didn't really matter much.

He was wondering how exactly they were supposed t draw Ezra to them. Whatever they were currently doing didn't seem to be working...

Other-Beaumont and Preacher were talking about sigils, but - if Alexis focused on walking evenly, being aware of the pain and pushing the other conversations in the group aside, they felt they could get more done.

Preacher was making some sort of sigil to hand out to a few people, but Shun wasn't paying her much mind. Whatever would help. Instead, he focused on trying to pick up on some sort of trail. As Algernon mentioned, Silk had said they may be able to focus on Ezra through their missing thumbprint or something like that.

He closed his eyes and began to concentrate as he tried to determine where to go from here.

Algie approved of Preacher's sigil distribution. They would all have to put their abilities to the best usage if they were going to get out of this alive and safe. Watching eachother's backs, no matter what the circumstances, would be essential.

Shun's feeling on the direction was echoed by the professor. He rubbed his thumb and concenctrated, remembered that prickling of pain, that creeping of fire, the hot tea kettle burn and..

Nasir was apparently laser-focused at the moment. He glanced up as he realized that Preacher was apparently handing out ... something. Protection? Probably smart. When it seemed like both Shun and Algernon had a good lead, he finally decided to try something.

A deep breath, focusing, and reaching out. He glanced up a moment later, pointing down another hallway after they followed Algernon and Shun's direction. "That way. He has to be that way."

Lily took a deep breath, focused on the heat of her missing thumbprint, but after a moment she still felt nothing in the way of a tug. No, wait, maybe that was her gut instinct, tugging her towards the left while everyone else was walking right.

"I think it's...this way..." Lily protested, her brow furrowing in effort. Wouldn't it be easier to just sniff him out? Ezra probably smelled like a campfire, or maybe burning flesh. She hoped it was a campfire.

Chester drifted back over near Preacher, nodding at Oliver in a how've you been, I see you have a sigil, it's a good day to die sort of way, if such an expression could be quantified. He watched Shun, Algernon, and Nasir head in a decisive direction, only pausing for a second when Lily veered off on her own. Three against one. He'd stick with right.

If he was disappointed that he hadn't actually been told how to invoke the geas, it didn't show. The likelihood that he was going to find a use for it was slim to none anyway.

Shun glanced back as he saw Lily go in the opposite direction.

"Oi. Where are you going?"

He shook his head, then looked around. Once more, he began to concentrate on whatever link Ezra had placed on him to try and determine where they needed to go. The sooner they reached the Burning Man, the better.

When he had a feel for it, he began to move once more.

In the back of his mind, he wondered how the triplet group was faring. He had a bad feeling about what they might encounter. And he felt a tinge of regret for not having checked on Pax after he had returned from being captured by Ixodi. He had been caught up in so many things upon coming back, but it wasn't much of an excuse.

"If you're sure," Lily shrugged, jogging softly to catch up with the others. Now that she thought about it, she was able to sense the warmth properly again, like she was reaching for the fire in the pine cone she'd made with Eve.

"It protects ya bit from fire. Since ya prob need it." Oliver had a brother and other bonds and bullshit like that. Ideally, she'd get around to everyone, but they might run out of time. "Put it next to your skin." Then she scribbled something else down.

"Besterino." It was directed at Chester. "Here - say 'is name, say this, say yer command, 'kay? Be careful wit tha wordin'." Preacher handed him a slip of paper on which she'd written the geas. It hadn't looked like Shun had told Chester and he should know. They all should know, technically, but Preacher was busy. A fresh piece of paper, another sigil, thrust in the direction of someone random. Oh, Nasir.

She poked him in the arm with it. "Take this. Next to ya skin, fire protection, blah blah blah. Ain't fail-safe, ain't immunity, but hey." Preacher had been just drifting distractedly behind the rest, focusing on casting and trusting that everyone else was doing the actual looking.

Whatever tied them all to Ezra seemed to be serving their purpose well. They came to a dead end with a door and Alg stopped, looking at it.

"Well," his fingers rubbed rubbed at his thumb, "I've got the feeling we've found something."

Hopefully some one, but that's possibly where the difficulty truly started.

He took the paper, skimmed it, and nodded again. The geas sounded magical enough, but even though he had seen something like it at work, it seemed like a perilous thing for them to rely on. Then again, so did punching a powerful burning being.

Chester looked at the door, then over at their group. "Does anyone have a strategy of some sort? Something to discuss that might keep him from destroying us on sight?"
