The men arrived as they had said they would, on time and responsible as they should be to meet Rabbit's sister. Algie didn't know if his other self had met her so he tried to remain as genial as possible. The kids were much bigger than Algie remembered from the last time but had seen pictures from Rabbit at work.

Violetta, knowing she'd been part of the deal, decided to accompany as an accessory and leapt down to make her way to the children as soon as they arrived. Yes she would need to be carried back.

He was of course all small smiles, belaying his actual worry in Rabbit's disappearance.

Hellbine (forever a kitten sized thing) was jumping out of the car right after Violetta, though he went bounding right up to the children and started twisting through their legs. Jeremiah flicked his fingers in greeting towards Aunt Liv, likewise not sure if they were acquainted, and smiled.

"Hello," he greeted. "Everyone ready?" Though this was mostly said with a smile towards Sy and Nev before he looked to Liv. Aside from his eyes, at least Jeremiah and Algie did look the part of responsible adults (he was Chief of Police, didn't that make him one of the most responsible adults ever?).

It wasn't that Olivia wasn't concerned, she just knew her brother and what he was a part of. She knew these were people like him, though not to the most specific extent, and she had faith, much like Rabbit did, that everything would be all right. They were the Chief of Police and her brother's boss, after all, and if the sirens felt more comfortable with them... well... the disappointment in her eyes was admirably contained.

"Hello Mister Mercers," she said cheerily. "Everyone's as ready as they can be! I hope you have a lot of Cheerios at your house because these two have a cereal fixation."

The kids didn't scowl or try to counter their aunt's words, so enthralled were they by the othercats. Nev bent to gently pat between Hellbine's ears, while Sy abandoned their bag and took a seat next to Violetta, clearly willing to be her chauffeur if the enthusiasm of her petting was any indication. From the window, p***k watched with curious approval.

"But seriously, if you could get them to eat anything else, if would be a miracle."

"Jeremiah's a whiz in the kitchen," Alg winked at Olivia with a smile, "If anyone can whip up something they'll like I'm sure it's him." But Algie also had a sugary cereal stash that he wouldn't discuss in adult company.

Don't worry kids.

Violetta clearly wanted to be carried and stretched and reached to Sy to be picked up and held as violets bloomed behind her ears.

Alg opened the back door of the car and moved a blanket and things out of the way and motioned to the sirens to hop in if they'd like.

"Zac went through a similar phase," Jeremiah said with a chuckle, "so I'm sure we can handle it." He was smiling as he watched them gather up the othercats. Hellbine was practically a motor, twined around Nev's legs and pressing into petting hands. He would follow, rather obediently, at Nev's side.

"Think I can come up with a thing or two they might like," he said thoughtfully. "Though that depends on whether or not they're up for kitchen experiments." Which meant each of the children were fitted with an inquisitive look from Jeremiah. He absolutely meant kitchen experiments. How else did one discover things they might not have ever tried?

There was a smile given to his husband as he shifted things around in the car (it was, of course, Jeremiah's car and that meant that the driver's side was opposite).

They made a break for the car, but not before they had enveloped Olivia in a crush of feathery hugs and pecked her on both cheeks. It was the perfect picture of a loving family, though any emotion they felt for their powerless aunt would always be less intense than their love for the world they had come from and the humans it had changed.

Nev was the first to climb into the backseat, having taken over bag duty when it became clear his sister would have a passenger. Sy placed Violetta gently between them and pulled the door shut behind her as she waved. She faced the Mercers when she was done, finally distracted enough to look excited about their adventure.

"Your steering wheel's on the other side."

"Thank you for helping us," Nev added, trying to keep things on track. He reached over to rub between Violetta's ears, careful of the flowers.

Goodbyes given, Jeremiah headed towards the car and watched as Hellbine promptly laid himself across his large, noodle sibling. It was almost as if he disappeared, if not for his blue eyes and the flowers on his head (and nose and inside of ears but the point was he could hide on her).

"That's because it's from Europe," he told the pair, smiling. The keys were tossed towards his husband as Jeremiah would not be the one driving. Not if he was planning on popping over while they went to the store.

"You're very welcome." Sliding into the passenger seat, Jeremiah pulled his seatbelt across himself. "We know it can't be easy for you two to want to find out what's going on but also have to listen to your aunt." Also their father, though he was not here, who likely did not want them getting into trouble or danger.

Alg of course exchanged a pleasantry or two with Olivia as well as exchanged information before he went back to the car and caught the keys from his husband. After buckling in the mirror was adjusted and he glanced back at the passengers as Jeremiah spoke.

"Don't you ever worry about bothering us if you need something," Alg reassured before his eyes went back to the road.

It wasn't a long ride to the store (where they would be allowed exactly 1 snack more than they were allowed at home) and the Professor himself wouldn't be skimping on an excuse to buy snacks. Especially if Jeremiah wasn't supervising.

There were oohs and aahs over the actual car from actual England, as well as questions about colorful money and the Queen, but mostly the kids just seemed happy to be making forward progress. It had only been a day, after all, and their father was made of stuff too tough to just be murdered and left in a ditch somewhere, right? Having other adults on the case and cats to keep them company calmed the sirens to the point where this almost began to feel like a normal adventure.

At home they were each allowed one snack after dinner and before bedtime, which was usually—let's be honest—more cereal, but when given the opportunity to choose another, Nev and Sy were torn between the cinnamon rice cakes and cheddar ones, deciding on one of each since there were two of them.

Jeremiah had turned up nothing at Court, though he had ran into Oroh - almost a twin to Fell, he had thought - who had been tight-lipped about Rabbit. Not that he expected the fetch to explain anything, quite the contrary, and he let out a sigh before he had given other ashdown a quick look over only.

Rabbit was alive, he had been promised, but that was all he had. It was enough, he figured, and he had made his way back home to his husband and cats and, for the time being, small squeeps. It was still something that would at least ease the sirens worries (and their - Algie and his - concerns).

"I think," he said, as they picked out their snacks, "that we'll send you back home with some snacks from back home." A small assortment of things that were unique to the UK and they usually had a small supply of.

"Hopefully you two won't mind if the cats bunk with you tonight? As apparently they've adopted you." It was true, as Hellbine and Violetta had each attached themselves to Sy and Nev. Clearly squeeps were the favored ones, if only because of the amount of pets they showered upon the cats.

Algie was extremely disappointed in rice cakes as a snack choice and maybe snuck in some real sweets for himself.

While jeremiah was at the court the children were occupied with cats, lots of books, and video games should the mood dictate. Of course it didn't take long for Jeremiah to get back, not with his abilities, but with reassurance that Rabbit was fine he hoped it eased their worry.

"They are good guards," He chuckled about the cats, though Violetta only responded with a yawn.
