"Something like that..." Jeremiah knew he'd been trying to work a bit more on the shadow powers. Somehow after the magical world ending catastrophe, Sunny's meltdown, he'd thought it might be prudent to get on the good side of some magical beings.

"Ran into Shun.. got the rundown of things I think," Not that he hadn't heard the same second hand from his husband, "Also ran into someone looking for you."

Alg followed easily to the living room, loosening his tie and unbuttoning his collar after he kissed Jeremiah and sat.

"I'm sure it'll fade.." Alg murmured, mostly in hope because the last thing Jeremiah needed was to look more magical. Outside of his own opinions on such things, he was now in a high profile position and magic was viewed less than dubiously. He could easily end up a scapegoat for things if the wrong people decided to make it an issue..

Alg helped him with his clothing, walking the other towards the stairs and up to the bedroom where he could change and get a proper look at things.

"We just need to warm you up."

Alg just snorted a moment, "Well as much as you'd love it to be only me that acknowledges your date of birth.."

Jeremiah was escorted (on his arm) into the living room where several packages were on the sofa dated from overseas. One was from Milan, another was clearly from Jeremiah's mother, a smaller one from Alg's dad based on the handwriting.

"And your mum called also," His brows lifted, "Me because you didn't answer."

Jeremiah was back with plates of chicken parm and glasses of wine matched to go with it (too many years of knowing Fernando Rosso to not know). He sat down next to Algie, another kiss pressed to his cheek.

"Someone looking for me?" he asked a breath later, eyebrow raised. Then, of course, it all clicked. "Fell?"

Jeremiah nodded in agreement. This was not something he wanted on him all the time, let alone the cold. It was far, far worse than his chill and it made his back ache badly. With everything that had to be done after the fight, he had wanted to simply come home and curl up but had not been able to.

Not given his position.

The buttons were loosed on his vest, his shirt following suit as they went up the stairs. By the time they reached the bedroom, Jeremiah was already shrugging his clothing off. His back that was permanently scarred did not look the same. In fact, the scales of ice looked to have spread from that point. While it did not cover his entire back it had reached towards his shoulders and arms and up along the back of his neck.

Rolling he shoulders he felt the familiar pain but the pull of the muscles was different. Though without his top on he could see his arms and held one up to look at it. "Bloody Christ ..."

"Thankfully I think most of the department is aware of my stance on the subject of my birthday because no one said a word, though I did get some looks as if they did not even expect me to be in." Which, now that he truly remembered it was his birthday, made sense.

His fingers rested on Algie's forearm, though they shifted so that they could press to the steady beat of his pulse in his wrist, as he was escorted to the living room. The smile that appeared on his face at seeing the presents was that happy, pleased one he got on special occasions.

Though it faded to a wry smirk at the mention of his mother. "I did text her back that I'd call her this evening after dinner." It was still something to get used to because, in this reality, he had a far, far better relationship with his mother and kept closer contact. Especially considering she had divorced his father so many years earlier.

"Adze came for me and she of course was with him," Alg accepted the glass, took a sip, and set it down in lieu of the plate because his stomach was first priority and it was growling.

"Shun was there so she stayed out of sight."

Alg took his first bite, chewed, and made a good noise. "This is delicious love."

Alg sighed and walked around him a moment before he stepped forward to lay his hands on his husbands back. The further from the spine he touched, the easier the chill ebbed away and he was sure the icy shimmer would also disappear, but even his warm hands were chilled by the icy spine.

"Must have been a defense mechanism of some sort.." Which sounded, with much difficulty, like he was suddenly another species they were discovering for the first time. It was slightly unnerving but Alg wouldn't talk about it aloud.

"Well it feels like her standard care package from home," It was nice having parents send all those little food brands and things they just couldn't get here. "But we can be sure she's tucked a present in for you."

Alg let go of Jeremiah when they got to the sofa, because he was lifting and sorting the boxes. The one from his father was pulled out because he knew what was in it.

"We're opening this one now because I know what it is.." That was to say it was a bottle of their favorite scotch, with a card and printout that he was sending them a CASE of it but it would be coming later.

Jeremiah nodded, somehow pleased that Fell had kept herself out of sight of Shun. He smiled a bit wider when Algie said the food was delicious. Given his aversion to cooking the past few months, the compliment, the praise was somehow that much more meaningful.

"Only the best," he said, eyes crinkled at the edges because of his smile, "for my precious love." He took his own bite after Algie had started eating, happy himself with the taste as well. A few more bites in and a sip of his drink and he was ready to talk himself.

"What was it that Fell wanted?"

Jeremiah made a particularly sinful noise when Algie's hands pressed to his cold skin, though it turned to a soft hiss at the start temperature differences of warm hands and ice cold back.

"... because I needed something else to-" he started and then stopped, his shoulders rolling in frustration and then stopping because it actually hurt more than it helped at this point. "We've joked about dragonhide but actual scales?" It was a bit much. Jeremiah sighed again, finally giving a short nod of agreement.

"I should have been injured, Alg. One of the times I was stuck, I know I should've been even given my particular talents." A hand reached for his husband then, fingers curling tightly around his hand and two of them finding the thump of his pulse in his wrist.

"We can be sure because she always does and that there's likely something in there just for you too." As his mother absolutely adored Algie and, in some cases, he was certain liked Algie more than she liked her own son.

While Algie was seeing to the boxes, he took a seat on the sofa and held out his hands for the package he mentioned. "Could it be hard liquor?" he asked with a chuckle, certain that it was their favorite and preferred brand of scotch. "He never skimps when it comes to that."

The box was taken and opened, sure enough the scotch bottle picked out and set on the table along with the card that he read.

Alg gave him a look for the cheesy line but smiled anyway. Food trumps all.

"Not sure, she's still your fetch, even if we are together," Which meant she'd appeared for him but not shared any more than necessary. She wanted Jeremiah.

"But neither of us have checked on them so I don't blame her for being agitated.." Their own fault really.

"Well just be thankful you weren't. That means more to me than anything else.." Inhuman traits aside. Jeremiah was alright.

He moved closer, the other taking his hands for his pulse but he slid them free to wrap them around the other.

"Let me run a shower for you," Body warmth right now was better than his hands could do, and a hot bath or shower would be even better.

Alg settled in beside his husband, picking up the box from Milan and shifting it lightly so as not to break anything delicate.

"You know Milan fashion week just passed so I think Nando probably sent you clothes.." Which was actually handy considering how often Jeremiah's ended up on fire or ripped. Also how they'd closet cleaned after their noble trials. If Alg was lucky, Ashley tucked some things for him in there as well.
