Day. . .Dreaming. . I fell asleep beneath the flowers. .

For a couple of hours. .

On a beautiful day. . .

No one was there. No one was around this time to settle him, but as he laid in a bed of his sweat and tears, Asche was losing the little sanity he had. Tossing and turning, coughing here and there, he'd reel back to toss the covers off him before a hand slammed down on the edge of the bed. What was he feeling? A mixture of anxiety, angst, fear, lust - it all swirled about his mind whilst within there he stood, the darker variant of himself.

The duo fought for supremacy in a world coated in black and opaque lilac. Streams of white careening through the sky in the backdrop as their swords seemed to dance; the clashes never heard but felt. What was this?! Who was this?! Why was he so strong?!

"Shehehehehe! How long do you plan on ignoring me?! Don't you get it!? You can't see it can you?!" Draped in red and splotches of crimson decor'd his being from the constant onslaught of killing. All he could feel, all he could see, was this depth of outright intent to slay. It overwhelmed him like a wave looming high, about to completely swallow him whole. "Let it go! Let go of that vile thing you call morality! You just want to fight! You just want to feel the blood of your enemies coat your flesh! So do it! Just let it happen! SHEHEHEHE!"

All he wanted to do was run. From himself. From what he was becoming.

"Someone. . Save. . Me. . Neffy. . Roselle. . EZ. . Marshal. ."

In his chaotic state, he spoke one last word.

"Mom. . ."

                                                Roselle Stark

XXX It was cold here, colder than Roselle had ever been in her life even bundled up against the storm. The harsh winds blew flurries of snow into her face, icy, dry wind stinging her eyes. She'd insisted upon following Nefertari, considering Asche was back in bed and Marshall and EZ were holding down the ship. She didn't want their First Mate to travel by himself, especially in a place with such horrid weather and frightful fauna. Besides, as the doctor it was her job to get and deliver the medicine anyway. They trudged along in silence as they usually did when they were paired together, but this time the air between them felt much more hostile and distancing. She didn't know exactly what Asche had talked to Nefertari about before he had succumbed to his illness, but clearly the man was not happy with the results. The Skypiean couldn't help but feel guilty about it, considering she was a wedge between the two.

Roselle wanted to say something, but she just couldn't think of anything that would be good enough. An apology wouldn't make sense or help the situation, and she was sure he didn't want to hear any comforting words from her. So instead she marched on in silence, the guilt growing inside her with every step they took. So far since she'd known the crew, all she'd ever been was a burden; all she'd ever brought them was pain. Surely they believed saving her life and taking her along with them was a mistake. It would be better if she just disappeared. From their crew, from life. She was an abomination anyway, a creature not meant to exist.

Entering the forest, the doctor gave a quiet sigh of relief, thankful to be sheltered temporarily from the harsh wind. Following Nefertari's lead, she'd pick the same herbs, gingerly pulling them from the ground to uproot them, placing them into her medicine bag. With this, at the very least she could finally do some good and help Asche get well. After that, perhaps it would be best for everyone if she departed. As her partner turned to her and pressed the herbs into her hands, she forced a small smile for him, then looked slightly confused at his words. It took her a moment to process and to understand exactly what he meant by this. It was his permission. To be with Asche however it was that she wanted. Tears well up in her eyes, voice trembling as she spoke. "Neferta-"

A familiar stomping sound cut her short, the young woman tensing up as the beasts from before returned. Though he had his back turned and couldn't see, she shook her head at his words, refusing to leave his side. What kind of crewmate - what kind of friend - would she be if she abandoned him to such violent beasts in the middle of a snow storm?! As he spoke again she flinched, though strangely his "insult" to her was comforting. Hesitating only a moment, she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around the man, giving him a quick hug from behind even though she was certain he'd hate it. Concerned, golden eyes followed his movements as Nefertari rushed at their enemies, and Roselle drew in a deep breath, her wings expanding as she did so.

"Please be careful! If you don't return to the ship in an hour then I'm coming back for you!"

Between fighting these creatures and trudging back to the snow, she figured that would be a decent amount of time for him to travel back to the S.S. Maribel. Though she'd never seen him lose a fight, she was still worried for his well-being. But she did have another job to complete; one she was thankfully better at than she was at combat. Though she struggled to fly though the winds, she did eventually make it back to the ship, freezing and panting, limbs stiff and numb as she rushed to Asche's room. Shivering, she shook the frost from her wings and body, opening her medicine bag to remove a mortar and pestle and the herbs they had collected here. It only took a few minutes for her to whip up the medicine their Captain needed, thankfully warming up as she worked. Removing a syringe from her bag, she drew up her concoction and sat beside Asche's bed, running her fingers against his skin and lightly prodding his arm until she found a good vein to use. With his other hand, she'd press the needle into his skin and into said vein, pushing the plunger down with a sigh of relief.

Removing the needle, she'd dispose of it and obtain a bucket of warm water and some wash cloths. Sitting by his side once more, she gently wiped the blood from his skin, cleaning him up to the best of her ability, tucking the blankets around him once more so he wouldn't get cold. "There.. It's okay, now.." He would get better, Nefertari would return to the ship, Marshall and EZ would win their fights, and then they would sail away from this horrible place and leave their troubles behind them. Leaning forward, Roselle ran her fingers lightly through Asche's hair, intertwining her fingers with his with her other hand. Swallowing hard, she'd lean down to kiss her Captain's forehead, smiling lightly as she sat back up to continue monitoring him. "I love you, too, Asche."

The wind whistled through the trees, sending frozen droplets through the air. It stung ever so slightly as it made contact with Nefertari’s skin but not enough for him to notice while still somewhat combat ready. He stood, fabric bellowing in the harsh gales. The creatures that attack earlier were now grounded. Struck down and paralyzed by the vipers venom, they could do no more harm for the next couple of hours. Nefertari would whip his sword, making it retract into a single blade before sheathing it.

”I’d better get back...” He would turn to head back but his pace was slow. Thoughts ran in and out of his mind. Should he return? What waited for him now that his feelings were rejected. Was he to just follow Asche and watch him have a happy life with another? Would he subject himself to such torture? Would Asche want him to?

The desert viper would move hair from his face with delicate fingers. Was this meant to be his life? Constantly loving those that would never return those feelings... What a sad existence to live. His pace was slow as he made his way back to the ship through the snow and harsh frostbitten winds.

About half an hour would pass until he would make it back to the ship. Everything seemed to have calmed down some what. The ocean dog was finishing off the last of the rabbits and it was assumed everyone else was with the captain. A simple nod would be given to the man to acknowledge his work and praise him. It was now time to see how the captain took to the medicine.

Nefertari would walk in to see Asche laying in bed. He looked better but the young viper wasn’t a doctor so he wasn’t all too sure. Roselle was sitting next to him which would keep Nefertari standing at the door. Arms folded he would speak up, ”Is he doing better?” Addressing the doctor of the ship. Hopefully she could shed some light on his medical status.

                                                            Marshall

These creatures were probably the toughest thing that Marshall has faced before. He was battered and bruised all over from his scuffle with the large creatures, but he had managed to take down the ringleader. The skypiean wiped some blood from his forehead and turned around to head back to the ship. The fight itself was quite exhilarating. Marshall felt like he had learned some new things and for that, he was thankful.

"It was a well-fought battle, creature. However, it was only right that I came out victorious."

Marshall boarded the ship and checked in to the captain's quarters. There, he saw Asche, Nefertari, Ezekiel, Scarlett, and Roselle. Scarlett, having seen him walk in, blushed in regards to the conversation that she and Ezekiel had on their way back to the captain's quarters. She returned to Marshall's side and sat beside him.

"Favorite n****e? Nonsense, I don't think I could ever favor one over the other. But I'm glad you are making at least one friend."

He looked at her and as they spoke, he told her how he felt about her being on the Maribel.

"Mhmm. It's interesting here. All things considered though, I don't think this is the safest place for me." She said thoughtfully as she played with his hair, "If anything, I'm a liability. Not to say that you or the others couldn't protect me. But I'm not cut out for the life of a pirate."

This took Marshall by surprise because he expected her to object to the idea.

"I see. Well, I was hoping to at least drop you off somewhere nice. The least I could do." Marshall said smiling as he leaned back.

"Well that's awfully sweet of you~" She spoke sweetly, nudging his shoulder and watched alongside him as events unfolded.

SHERLOCKHOMESLICE'TILL THEY HIT THE FLOOR ----
SHERLOCKHOMESLICETHEY JUST KEPT BEGGING FOR ----

( " MORE, MORE " ) Somewhere in between initiating soulful conversation with Scarlett and the next dozen prompts for socializing that Ezekiel had concocted solely to kill time, her captain came down with the fits. She tensed at first--night terrors were nothing new to her, and she'd seen firsthand the damage they could wreak on a handful of well-meaning friends. These weren't the same, thankfully. They were the pleas of a man at wit's end in the throes of illness, and if Ezekiel went on the hunch she had, a man at conflict with himself. She'd been there. Had the better part of her won? There was only one or two people still extant to answer that question, and Ezekiel wasn't among the voting party. Having clawed her freedom from herself and those that sought to imprison her, she went to rise to her feet and stand beside Asche as he cried out.

Then, remembering his outburst only a short time ago, she stayed where she was and drew closer to Scarlett protectively.

When things were less hectic, she would come to him, speak to him from a place which she felt he was journeying to and offer what she could. But in the moment, while Roselle and the others filtered into the room to check up on Asche as well, Ezekiel refrained. Best to wait until he was more...conscious, than to risk pushing things further over the brink.

                          And speaking of Roselle...!
The Doctor hadn't seemed to notice Ezekiel sitting in the room, and so Her Pinkness silently watched her go on about her duties. Nothing especially remarkable, though a distinct lack of Apricot Application raised an eyebrow from Ezekiel. She was just about to turn a bored eye back over to Scarlett when she heard the Golden Phrase: A confession of love! Oh, this was going in her diary! With Bob as her witness, Roselle had confessed, and Ezekiel would never let her live it down. With her best you like Krabby Patties, don't you? grin, she turned back to Scarlett, trying to communicate with her eyebrows the magnitude of the spectacle they'd just witnessed. This didn't go over as well as she'd intended, of course. It was hard for Ezekiel to convey the depth of emotion a face journey called for with just one eye, so she had to live with the crushing weight that she had been the only one to realize that Roselle grew her first pair of testes on this day, in this room.

                          How could she ever cope?!

By the time Nefertari and Marshall had come back in, she gamefaced again, only to be thrown askew by Ocean Dog's assertion.

"No favorites?!" Ezekiel was genuinely flabbergasted by this; the concept of someone not favoring one n****e over the other was foreign to her until now. "Maybe it is because you don't have breasts. Do you have a favorite tes--" The ocean decided, at this crucial time, to give the ship a rocking hard enough to make Ezekiel drop her sentence in favor of regaining her balance. Maybe it was a sign from Poseidon? If Poseidon was afraid to ask a simple question about testicles, then Poseidon was a coward and a fool, and that was why his domain was full of fish poop. Still, she course-corrected her question and turned instead to Nefertari and Roselle.

"What do we do then, while he... you know..." Ezekiel waved her hands in the air vaguely, searching for the word. "Convalesces?" Wow! Big diction! She'd read that in a medical journal recently. Too bad she had no idea what it actually meant, but it sure did sound healthy, right? "Has he ever been sick before?"

The Lapahn had elected to continue the bout with young Riven regardless. After a while, the longest bit of night. They had fallen back to watch, snarling and growling. As if waiting for his guard to drop that they might lunge onto him again. Sadly for them, he had his haki attuned to their actions. If one moved for him he would know it. Until then, he pulled his black fur coat tight and continued through the snowy isles to the land of Bighorn, where the Pirates were said to dwell. He just needed a scape goat, someone to take the fall for when he drew the Admirals away from the Blues. Away from Shio. All of a sudden, like a mountain from the snow, came the largest Lapahn he had ever seen. Well, this wasn't his first time seeing him. All of those years ago, this one had appeared before Riven once more. Its shadow cast from where they stood to the entrance of the town.

The tiny titan made no time for the beast, he vanished. The spurt of water left within his wake had turned to diamond dust in the bitter cold. His foot had found its resting place in the Behemoth like Lapahn's stomach. Eyes grew wide with pain, and yet Riven felt so indifferent to the altercation. It was different, when he was a Marine, when this was fun. It wasn't fun anymore, he had people to save now, and he was possibly the most wanted person in the world. Even if others had higher bounties, who else was to be hounded by Admirals of the Navy? The foot dug deeper, and the Lapahn's eyes grew wider and wider still. Until finally, the girth of its body gave way to the weight of Riven's kick. Thrust, like a rag doll into the first building of the town's entrance. As he hit the ground he turned into a ghost, he was gone, a blur between the people of the town that could not have possibly tracked his movements. The crumbling water statues were hardly noticed. Everyone came out to see the gigantic unconscious Lapahn that sat nestled in the abandoned house at the forefront of town. Well ... perhaps not abandoned, but no one was in it. Hopefully.

                                                                        Never mind that.

                                                                        *Thump*

He had seen the black sails and the smiling skull, but he wasn't much for subtleties. That, and he had yet to find his way back to his voice. So, his feet would find the side of the ship in his brisk dashing pace. Colliding with it and shaking it violently. He didn't need to fight these people, but maybe he could lure them into town. After the initial impact with both feet, he would kick off of the ship once more to cause it to shake before landing back beside where it was docked. Looking upwards to see who would come out.

"Should prolly go up there ..."

He thought to himself before leaping up to the railing of the deck, standing upon it and removing the hood of his black fur coat.

                                                                        [ 876 // 750 Row Event ]

Time. . All he needed was time.

Hours passed. His breathing slowed and his fever lessened. Here and there he'd wake, mumbling some words, but for the most part everything seemed alright. Their captain would live through this or so they hoped. Still, even as he finally lay awake in bed, Asche said not a single word. The images he saw. The sight of that monster. Why were they so vivid? Why was it he didn't feel wrong for killing the way he did. Still. . Moping about it wouldn't make things better, now would it. Not wanting to upset the crew, he remained acting asleep for some time before finally rising up and yawning. "I slept like a baby. Must've been because Roselle was in my dreams. Shahahahaha!" Laughing to himself, he'd pat the side of the bed and slowly stand. While he was recovering, his body still wasn't entirely at full strength and that made him topple over slightly when the entire ship went to rock.

What in the world was it now?!

Looking to the others, Asche smiled nervously. Walking wasn't something he was completely up to. At least, not yet. "Hey. . Anyone mind helpin' me out here? I just need to get to the deck is all. By anybody, I mean Roselle and Ez, preferably." You see, he had a plan. Having two bevy women holding him up meant he could accidentally cope as many feels as he wanted. Indeed, he was extremely weak and sick. They'd never think he was up to no good so soon. Now, if it were Nefetari or Marshal, he wouldn't be nearly as excited. As they reached their destination and the door was opened, Asche plainly stared with squinted eyes. Hadn't he seen that mess of white hair before. "Hahah, hey, I know this kid!" Excitedly he'd pat whomever held his shoulders to release him. Slowly he'd come down, sitting off against a far wall. "Hmm. . Little brother? Older brother? Honestly, I dunno what to call you. Either way, you're family right? What's goin' on, Riven!" That was what he went by, if Asche could recall correctly.

                                                Roselle Stark

XXX It would seem in all of her hurry to assist Asche, Roselle had gotten tunnel vision and had not noticed Ezekiel still in the room with Scarlett. It was only a few minutes after she'd given the medication that the woman sat back with a sigh, noticing the two for the first time, her eyes widening, face growing pale for a moment before turning bright red. "W-W-W-Wait! How long have you been here?! Y-You didn't hear that right?!" The man she had confessed to in the first place was asleep and couldn't even have heard her, so why did she have to be so foolish as to leave witnesses! "E-EZ! P-Please don't tell anyone! F-Forget I said anything!" What did she have to do to make this woman keep her lips sealed?! Thankfully by this time, Nefertari and Marshall returned, prompting a rush of relief to run through her for more than one reason. "I'm glad you've returned safely, Nefertari. Are you injured?" Standing up, she walked over to him to examine him and make sure he had no wounds. "He's doing better now. His fever broke and his heart rate is down. We'll keep monitoring him, of course, but it seems like the medicine worked."

Smiling at him, she moved over to Marshall next who was more difficult to examine because he had quite a bit of blood on him. "Are you hurt?" Taking a few clean washcloths, she'd help to clean him up a little and address his injuries appropriately. The same treatment was applied to EZ and Scarlett to ensure everyone was properly taken care of. To Ezekial's question, the Doctor's eyes sparkled. This woman had read over her books! She'd learned! Pride swelled in her heart as she laughed lightly. "Well.. I think while Asche is resting we should clean up the deck.. I can fix the hole in the floor. After that, I want you all to get some rest. Make sure you get something to eat and drink and take some time to recover. It's been a stressful day." Smiling warmly at them all, she'd bow deeply to them. "Thank you all for your hard work! None of this would have been possible without all of you here."

With that, she would do as she'd said she would, creating a Room around the debris where one of the creatures had broken through, patching up the hole and sealing it up once more. Every once in a while she'd check back up on Asche, making sure his fever hadn't returned and that he was breathing normally, and then leaving him to rest once more. She even followed her own advice and showered to clean the blood off of her, grabbing a quick snack before returning to their Captain's room once more. Humming quietly, she sat by his bed side again, writing notes on the treatment and location of the herbs they had gathered for her own personal records, halting when Asche finally woke up. Sighing in relief, Roselle set her notebook off to the side and smiled at him, blushing lightly at the comment he made. "It seems like you're feeling better.. I'm glad. You know, I-"

Before she could continue, something seemed to collide with the ship, making the whole thing rock. Why?! She was tired! She just wanted a nice quiet evening now! Sitting up from where she'd been knocked over, she simply sighed in dismay. "I think you should stay in bed.." Watching him struggle to get up though, she couldn't help but want to help him. Acting as a crutch for him, Roselle lead Asche to the deck, surprised when he said he knew whoever it was that had caused the rocking of their ship. Releasing him, she looked down in shock as he spoke. "Brother?!" She didn't know he'd had a brother! Actually, now that she was thinking about it.. She didn't know a lot about his family.

Roselle was a worry sort. Always concerned with the well being of others. It was an admirable trait though it wouldn’t do much to lighten Nefertari’s mood. He tried to fake his usual behavior but it was clear he was still troubled. After exchanging small talk and responding in his usual fashion to all of the doctor’s question, the male would look back over at Asche. He was bound to wake up soon and when he did the first person he would want to see would be Roselle. This truth would prompt Nefertari to leave the room about an hour before he would awaken...

Outside, the desert viper would fully wrap his body in his silk robe that normally dangles from his petite form. The icy winds would sting his flesh as frozen flakes would dance about within its whipping movement. It didn’t seem like the blizzard was letting up though that would be the least of their worries as a loud banging could be heard lower on the ship. Nefertari would leisurely stroll over to the side of the ship but not before the source of the noise would make itself known. It was the young marine from before.

Nefertari would simply stare at the boy as he would set foot onto the deck. He didn’t seem hostile so there was no need to engage. Jade hues would scan the little ones form. He didn’t look to be a hostile threat but before he could actually approach and inquire his reason for being here, Asche would pop out looking healthier than ever. Roselle would soon follow him out.

This situation seemed to be handled so with a gentle push, Nefertari would place his hair behind his ear and move towards the other side of the ship. He preferred to be alone for now...time to lick his wound.

                                                            Marshall

Asche was fine. For the time being.

Marshall sat in the rickety chair, trying to find a comfortable position but to avail. He huffed, adjusting himself as Roselle came over with a washcloth. She smiled and asked if he were alright while wiping off some of the blood caked on his face. He took the cloth from Roselle and patted her head, "Thanks Rosie. You should rest, you've worked harder than any of us here."

Scarlett nodded and gave Roselle a thumbs up before taking Marshall's hand as he stood and helped her up. The pair retreated back to the room, making sure to tidy up as much as they could. Marshall entered the shower and watched as all the blood from the creatures washed off. He scrubbed off any remaining dirt and blood before leaving and giving Scarlett time to shower. In the meanwhile. he went to prepare snacks with whatever wasn't destroyed in the infestation. The boat lurched to the side and Marshall almost dropped the food and drinks. He scowled, stabbing the knife into the cutting board and walking out of the kitchen to investigate to the source of the sudden movement.

He came out to see Asche, Roselle, and a strange person standing on the railing. The skypiean heard mention of a brother and raised an eyebrow. A brother? That was new. Though it wasn't too much of a surprise, this was the first Marshall had really heard mention of Asche's family. He sighed and returned back to the task at hand. Food and then hopefully a nap if there was no further commotion. Marshall opened the door to his room and set the plate of food down, handing Scarlett her drink. She took it gingerly and expressed her thanks before sipping some and putting the glass down. The pair enjoyed their food and a wholesome conversation, before retiring to bed.

Pitifully. He hadn't expected to see who he had. Asche ... He used to use the name Johnny didn't he.

Riven wasn't awake when Asche was born.

But the name was in his head, Shio must have brought him by on one of the days after his operation. The years leading up to its success, Riven could remember that name. But could he actually call himself an older brother? He had been around long enough, just not matured in a manner worthy of the name. His lips parted, and then his teeth clenched to cage his tongue. Bound his vocal chords in shackles and steel his face. He felt like he had to scream, he hadn't uttered a single word to anyone since he had left ... where it was that he was with Shio. He never did get a name, but that was probably for the best. The small white haired lad would leap from the railing of the ship, shaking the black fur coat he wore so that bits of the snow stuck within it dropped to the floor of the ship.

"I'm sorry ..." His voice came out normally, but what could he have been apologizing for. Clearly, the only thing possible was the ambush in Skypeia where they were arrested. Still, it was a just arrest, they did beat up his Marine Crew first. He just came back stronger as well. " ... I wasn't able ta protecc mom." It lowered, the tone, it had fallen off as if defeated. To admit it to himself, he had never done so until now. The Unstoppable Me. Stopped. even if momentarily. Hurt. If only for that time, but the repercussions of that brief stint at the Lighthouse. He would carry that through out the rest of his life. With the Admirals looking for him, there was just no telling how long it would be before that life came to an end. His small fingers fiddled within the confines of the coat he wore and from within it he produced his wanted poster. He would waddle over to Asche and hand it to him. Just the one bit of paper, even though he still refused to make eye contact. His head, was kind of low, still he had a goal. He planned to see it through.

"Buh .. dis means I'm da only one Oshino wants dead. It means he thinks she died, so he won't bother here no more." A bit of strength, however small, brought a smile to his face. It was his only happiness in this world. She was okay ... She was safe, from Oshino. Then back to seriousness. His plan wouldn't work, he had already left Shio. He couldn't use his brother to drag the Admirals out of the Marine Base ...

That look. . He knew that look. Eyes always told a story and Asche couldn't deny what Riven's were saying. Sadness was all he saw and it hadn't quite pegged him yet as to why this feeling was so strong. But, even still he wouldn't ignore anything he had to say and laid there open ended to see what was to come.

"Brother?!"

Now that he thought about it, he hadn't mentioned much about his family at all. "Riven is the adopted child of my mother. But from what recall, a lot of s**t happened the last time I'd saw him. Dunno really what's goin' on now, but. . uhh, all the same, he's still family." Nodding to those thoughts, he'd turn back to face the spec of white who was making his way across the ship. Nothing about him seemed particularly hostile, so it wasn't that, that made Asche feel so unnerved. No, it was more like. . . Riven was giving off this feeling that he just didn't want to be around anymore. A heavy hunch if you could call it anything, really. The matter at hand though was more important than his feelings on the matter. To those words, the blonde only blinked in confusion,, staring forward. What?

What?

" ... I wasn't able ta protecc mom."

. . Was she dead? Did that mean she was gone? If that was true then. . "..." For a moment, he kept silent. Not knowing how to feel or what to say. It was true he hadn't been on the best terms with any of his family, but his mother was still his mother. And it was no more than a year ago that he'd lost his father. How was he supposed to take this? Silence kept him still as he watched Riven make motions towards him, grasping the paper with the bounty and the strange marking. This was the first time he'd ever seen a wanted poster say just dead on it, nothing else. What had Riven done to make him such a wanted criminal? "Did you get into some trouble. . ?" Stopping, eyes would wander the smaller ones body, then darting back down to the piece of paper. Slowly he'd place it down and nod.

"Buh .. dis means I'm da only one Oshino wants dead. It means he thinks she died, so he won't bother here no more."

So she was alive. Alright then. Letting out a gasp of air, his resolve was suddenly steadied. "Oshino? Uncle Shino? You mean the important Gorosei a*****e? Least. . That's how mom used to talk about him." Rising to his own feet, Asche seemed to slowly get an idea of what was going on. "He wants you dead? And mom? What did you all do, Riven? Give me the full story." And where was his mother, anyway? This sprouted too many questions, but the answers were right there between the lines.

                                                Roselle Stark

XXX Truthfully, Roselle didn't have much of an idea as to what was going on between Asche and the newcomer aboard their ship, so she kept silent, simply lingering nearby. When her Captain explained the relationship between him and Riven, the young woman smiled and nodded, offering a friendly wave to him. It was nice to know a little more about Asche and his family, and now that she was thinking about it she realized how little she really knew about the crew. None of them had explicitly talked about their pasts or relationships still out there in the world, only mentioning small snippets here and there. Was it wrong to want to know more about them? Was it bad that she was afraid to ask? EZ was missing an eye and was clearly unstable for one reason or another, Marshall had just washed up randomly and she hadn't questioned it, Nefertari was far from an open book, and Asche clearly had some skeletons in his closet. Frowning slightly, she looked off to the side, absentmindedly watching the snowfall. Ignorance was bliss after all.

Torn between giving the brother's privacy to talk and wanting to provide support, she rocked back and forth nervously on her feet, tense. As they spoke of their mother and some man named Oshino, Roselle felt completely lost, but she still wanted to do her best to help Riven. "Um.. I'll give you both some time to talk. Would you like anything to eat, Riven? I'd be happy to make something for you." Smiling gently, she'd listen to his reply and then leave to either make food or occupy herself with some other activity depending on his answer.

With Asche’s recovery being so recent, it probably wasn’t best to begin journeying again too soon. Good thing to because it seemed they’d be docked here for a little bit longer to hear in full detail, the happenings of his family troubles. The winds grew a little bit harsher but not to the point where no one could hear. However this would still prompt Nefertari to say, ”You guys mind if we continue this inside?...or are we good with the freezing winds pelting our skin with tiny razor blades of ice...” He would say this as he would flench a bit from an aforementioned shard hitting him in the face.

All joking aside, Nefertari was slightly interested in what happened to bring this guy in search of Asche. Their family issues reminded him of his own family issues...how he had no idea where his mother or brother currently were or even if his dead beat dad was still with them. Maybe it was time to find out? With his feelings being rejected, some time away from the ship could possibly be what he needs. More specificslly...time away from him....

Well ... not really, but he had managed to stop the tears from flowing, that and the screaming that held tight to his lungs seemed to subside as well. Talking .. to anyone, it was enough to relieve him of being wanted so badly. Undoubtedly there were monsters out there with Bounties that dwarfed his immensely, this attack was very personal. The small child known as Riven would undoubtedly pay it back ten fold. "Nah, I just gotta go fix whaddai messed up a supa long time ago." He felt personal about this as well, undoubtedly so he felt there was something he could do to turn the tide of this issue. He just had to make it to Oshino, and to do that he would have to evade the Admirals. Also find where he is, likely Mariejois, but getting to the heart of that place alone was a delusion he wasn't quite ready for. He shook the thought, there was a bit to discuss, and while he wasn't really one for conversation unless he got a lead on Bael. it wasn't like he was going to get anywhere soon.

Well ... the meeting in Alabasta that Shio spoke of aside. He would press a hand to his stomach while thinking over Asche's question ... he deserved to know about his mom, and the dumb things riven did to bring this all about. That aside, he couldn't take their kindness. He had attacked their crew once, even if they were under a different banner. Besides, if they were seen assisting someone so wanted, it could turn out really bad. "Nah, ya don't need to do that ... I can't stay long anywayz. Sorries." He would speak to Roselle, stuffing the copies of his wanted poster back into the black fur coat he hugged tight to his body. Devouring him like a bear, save for the collar around his neck allowing for his face to be shown fully. In short, he would also be turning down Nefertari's order to go in from the cold. He couldn't stay long, just enough to let him know what was needed, then go. Before they became a target, because whether or not he could use them as a distraction. He still needed to pull all of the Admirals away from the Blues. getting those guys away from Shio, that took precedence.

"Twenny wun years ago I died, cause a man named Thaddeus shot me while I was tryna save mah frends. I guess ... it was aroun the same time Shiny became a Gorosei." he remembered his time as Merlin as if it were his story altogether. His revenge on Thaddeus, that much alone was enough to bring a little bit of cherriness to his life. Tch, he only got those shots off cause Riven was distracted anyways. "I dunno all the details, buh Shio and Shiny did sumthin ta save meh. I think dey used another fishman to replace the parts I loss y'know." He checked his body, it was a nightmare mostly. In the space beneath his skin. The corruption of two different DNA's had all but ruined him. He couldn't even tell what kinda fish he was anymore. Not that it mattered, he never looked like much of a fish to begin with. "Dat otha fishman was stronger den me a lil while ago, and dey attacked the Marine HQ in da blues. A lotta peoples got hurt." If he smoked, this would be where he would take a drag, letting the smoke in his lungs distract him from the images within his mind. The Marine he shot, the assault on Luka and whomever else they brought along. Enka and Iyame ... they were there too. he attacked them also. "Ummm yeah, Shiny didn't like dat. So i was locked away, but my body finished recoverin ... so it no longer needed da otha fishmans. So it spatted thems out, and I wasn't locked up no mores." You mean Oshino never came to see you where you were, therein you had no choice but to leave on your own. ... Yeah ... dat.

                                                                        "But Shio ...."

He stopped talking, his jawline tensing. He wouldn't cry, he was a lot stronger than what tears could ever help him with. But Shio ... finish the rest.

"Mom ... She wasn't all the way in. So it was easy for her to come back ... but I was it y'know. I can tell it was me ..."

"Because I wanted her to be like me so bad ... She got hurt ... A'cause I couldn't fight an Admiral. He was jus' ... Unstoppable." His voice didn't lower, but the tone wavered. The strength faded to the point it was raspy. Nothing left within him to say. He couldn't fully explain what he meant, it only made sense to him.
