[ Then that was that. No further reason to hesitate or waste time. From here, it’d be combat. Galand notices both the blades in Luka’s hands once more and chuckles a bit to himself. He instead re-sheathes his greatsword, and tosses it onto his back before reaching for his right side and pulling out a katana. “You find a bird eager to break free of its cage, and see the new world. So, you open the door, to let the bird out. In the end…” He leans forward, savagely grinning to Luka. His blood pumping. “...the bird is too scared to leave its cage!” he roars as he dashes forward, making sure not to go at top speeds. He’d see how she would react to a few simpler attacks first. With the katana in his left hand, he pulls the arm across his body, preparing for a backhanded horizontal swing. Right at height of the woman’s thighs. Though his eyes would remained locked elsewhere. Her hands, to be exact. Better fly, Little Bird. ]

Her eyes stayed on him as he decided to put away his greatsword and he switched out to a katana as he started to speak in more bird metaphors. He really did seem to enjoy calling her that. He even began to mock her at her decision not to make the first move. Of course she was no fool. She worked better as a reactionary fighter anyways. She watched him dash at her, ready to swing his blade at her from his left, but aimed a bit low. "The bird is smart enough not to rush into the cats mouth first." She smirked as she had a moment before he got closer as she bent her knees and jumped up and over his slash, knees bending into herself as her left hand rose up. As his blade passed under her boots, she'd bring down her pommel on his head in a swift chopping motion. "When she can simply wait for the pounce and strike after!"
[ He knew it. As he approached Luka, he knew this was arguably the most suitable course of action for her to take. Leaping over him, that is. However, he was also prepared to counter this depending on how she jumped, and in the end she took the bait. Right as he took off the ground, barely managing to dodge his swing, Galand’s body would further tilt downward as if to mess up his own momentum. Ultimately dodging her pommel strike, is it’d not have the length to reach down far enough to hit his head. Maybe had she slashed with the blade instead. With his free left hand, he’d grasp the tip of his left waist's katana, and push back in an attempt to slam the bottom of the weapon’s sheath right into the woman mid-leap. Using his tilted stance, and her having not jump very high, he'd do what she didn't, and use the full length of his weapon. And with her knees bent into herself, even assuming she can use Rokushiki, it’d be no easy task to dodge this blow. One aimed to strike her bent legs in particular. ]

As she had jumped over his attack, her knees bent up and her legs came into herself as he swung his blade under her. His second sword was still sheathed unlike her own as she looked down at him, her left arm not long enough to strike him as he had moved lower to avoid a blunt head injury. As she missed, he continued to move, passing underneath her as she used the moment to extend her legs fully, kicking into his back as hard as she could to push away from him. At the same time however, she felt the sheath of his sword thrusting back into her leg, striking hard into the back of her leg as she grunted in pain before she kicked off of him, front flipping onto her feet properly again, roughly ten feet away. She turned about quickly to face him again, blade pointed at him again as she was ready for the next attack despite her severely sore thigh.
[ Galand comes to a halt after having his back kicked off of. He stands up tall and spins his right hand held katana around a few times with a sigh, reacting to Luka’s blow. With a sigh he’d look over his shoulder as the woman too turns to point her blade at him. “Well, looks like you have some power within you. Might even be stronger than my current restraint. Good work, Little Bird. But, it aint enough.” he says, turning around fully to point at the woman’s leg. “Looks like I left some damage on you as well. And so, I’d like to offer you two rules for this exchange of ours.” he starts, lowering his left hand to rest it over the hilt of his second katana.
He’d slowly sheathes his right katana, and move himself into an iaido stance with the left. “Rule number one. If I win, from that moment on, you belong to me. Mind body and soul. But if you win, we’ll all let you take us in no resistance.” Assuming Luka hasn’t taken action by now, Galand would lower his stance once more before dashing towards the woman, retaining the majority of his earlier stance. “Rule Two! No killing! I won’t kill you, and you don’t go trying to kill me!” he says aggressively in his excitement, preparing to cleave at the woman’s head, knowing full well she can evade or guard it. ]

The back of her thigh hurt, quite a bit as he made a remark on her ability, as well as her own injury. She stomped her boot down, shaking the pain away on her thigh as he taunted her. She always seemed to either exchange simultaneous blows or losing blows from these bigger name pirates. It was somewhat concerning and it also forced things into a battle of endurance and skill. But she was starting to wonder if they were all really this good...or if she was simply not as good as she believed herself to be. No. She shook her head for a moment as he was sheathing his blade. She couldn't afford to doubt herself in the middle of the fight. She had to focus on Galand as he...starting naming rules for their battle.
She raised an eyebrow as he named quite the ridiculous first condition. "You sound quite confident then..." She said as he assumed a very familiar stance before her. Her mind raced back to Lyneel one year ago and her duel with a certain Johnny B. Cash. He had used a similar stance and technique against her and despite her greater speed and movement, her attempt at the time to interrupt the technique had failed somehow gotten her cut by an un-drawn blade. She'd not attempt the same again this time as he lowered his stance and rushed her while declaring the second condition for their fight.
She had only a moment now to react and likely give him her response this time. She still had doubts in the back of her mind. Her track record for these sort of high power fights spoke for itself and everything in her more rational, rules abiding marine brain said 'no'. But then her mind quickly switched to her brother...and how she had made such a bold promise to him with fire in her eyes. "Tch..." She waited for him to get closer, unsheathing his blade to strike for her head before she reacted. She very quickly bent her knees in place, ducking under the attack as his blade went over her head, slicing at a few ends of her hair that didn't fall with her quick enough.
She looked at him from below as her right arm snapped forwards, with her pommel to smack into is left ribs as her eyes had changed. The usually dull and emotionless 'procedure this' and 'protocol that' expression was gone, as was her furrowed brow of rage. Instead, they glistened emerald in the light, a long suppressed flame rekindling as she actually held something her face almost never bore: A smirk. "Conditions accepted!" The time for doubting her own ability and self loathing was done. Her heart was racing now as she was ready to go all out now for this battle. It was no longer just a clash of their ideals, but a clash with herself. It was time to prove to herself that she could do this. That she was on the right path and that her goal wasn't a useless pipe dream. This battle would, one way or another, temper her spirit and resolve like never before.
[ It was there. That clash of wills. That burning desire to defy odds and overcome a trial insurmountable by any mortal hand. Had Luka come here branding the prestige and power of an Admiral, maybe then her decision would have been sound. To come here alone, sword in hand. Alas, she isn’t even close. Not an Admiral, nor a Vice Admiral. Right now, she is a sole marine that cast aside those under her banner, be it for protection of selfish glory. In the end, she is alone. Despite this, Galand can see her vigor. Her drive to win! And it turns him ON. A large grin spreads across his face as he draws closer, swinging his blade at the woman’s head, expecting her to dodge. And of course, she does so. Yet he does not draw back his blade from her ducking. He lets the swing run its course, the rest of his body coming to a halt right before the woman.
The pirates arm swings over the woman's head, clipping strands of hair in its wake, while the woman readies herself to strike him with the pommel of her blade once more. But he does not dodge. Nor does he move. He’d accept it graciously, only snapping forth with his right arm as the woman’s blow is mere moments from striking. A clean hit. Or so it would seem. The moment pommel would make contact, Galand’s body goes strange, almost akin to serpent like paper. He’d weave along the length of her arm and wind up behind her, one arm up under her extended arm--the one used to strike, the one wrapped around her throat. “Don’t move. You went through Marine training. You should know what this position means. Be rational now, Little Bird.” he’s start, only gripping at her throat tight enough for her to realize he’s being serious.
“You’re seriously the best, Luka. Really, I mean it. From the bottom of my heart, I haven’t been this excited in a while! But...you’re just...SO damn naive. Coming here alone, facing me with all your might not knowing if we have backup lying in wait… But you know, that does remind me.” he bends his head forward, moving towards her right ear with a rather sour expression.
“There was just one more rule I forgot to mention... Luka Scarlet... We. Are. Pirates.” With those words, Goldi and GoGo would, without a doubt, realize what that meant.
There was no going back now. Luka walked into the hornet’s nest ungaurded, and she’d pay dearly for it. The grip he has around her neck would loosen, and he’d allow her free range of movement. She could run if she desired it, and admit defeat here. Or… well, it’s best she doesn’t take the second option. ]

A feint. Not unlike the type that Luka herself used so very often in battle really. However it didn't result in a secondary attack by any means like she would have done. No, instead Galand shifted his body in a manner Luka recognized as he shifted himself out of the way of her short reach pommel strike and shifted himself around her body to get behind her. She felt his arm move under hers, and a hand about her throat as he spoke, but she was not yet worried despite his threat. "I'll admit I'm not usually one for having assistance. Makes things a bit too complicated for my liking really." She confessed to him as he leaned into her ear from behind. Though as he mentioned the final rule, Luka herself only smirked more. She'd expected something like this from the very beginning and so the turn of events was of no major consequence to her. It merely required a shift in strategy. In a three against one situation like this, while one was closer, and the other two still a medium distance away, her choice was simple. Eliminate the closest combatant now before the other two get closer.
The very instant that his grip loosened on her, Luka acted. Both of his blades were sheathed, the two females were plenty of distance away, and she was in close with both swords drawn. She wouldn't get a chance this good again so she'd better make it count. She spoke softly after his reminder of them being pirates. "I...Sur..." She started, about to surrender as she realized her mistake of trying to fight them all by herself. But in that moment, her own body went inhumanely limp. With them so close, and Galand believing the advantage was his, she would not get this surprise opening again as she shifted her entire body in an almost cartoonish manner to move herself around his side and to get behind him in a sudden movement. He may know Kami-E, but she was able to compress her entire form with her more perfected variation of the technique, which was used to prevent any attempt he could have made to grab her again.
As she shifted behind him, her body used this almost rubbery liquid like elasticity to suddenly snap herself into place from behind him as the sword in her left arm thrust forwards, driving her sword through the left of his chest, just under his heart. Not instantly fatal, but the bleeding would be quite severe. "Prise!" She grinned as her blade drove through his rib cage, chest, lung, and out the front, blood staining her steel as she finished the word she had begun before her slip around. She'd then kick his back hard with her boot, forcing him off her sword and away to the ground as a follow up attack. She swung the left blade to whip off the blood with a short splatter sound. "I have personnel on my ship that can patch you up before you bleed out, assuming you take this as your defeat." She then looked up to the other two, that newly kindled flame still in her eyes. "So is there really no honor among pirates, or must I battle each of you as well?" She spoke up to ask the other two, referring to Galand's first rule of this engagement regarding his defeat.
Techniques Technique Name: Enhanced Kami-E Description: This technique involves making the user's body relaxed and go limp in order to avoid attacks, and float like a piece of paper. Flexibility is greatly increased and the user is able to evade in ways and positions that would not ordinarily be physically possible. Luka gains +25 Speed for evasive purposes when Kami-E is in use and may be used to avoid attacks that her body would not normally be able to move around. This same ability can be used to employ general feats of inhuman flexibility as she sees fit during combat, molding her own body and even being able to adjust her own dimensions to some degree as necessary by even compressing herself in some parts or her entire form at will. Upon her throne of carnage sat the unsuitably named coral haired pirate, watching as her ally did battle with a former acquaintance. She listened intently, hanging onto their shared words and exchanged blows. Goldi had never seen Galand so worked up before outside of their own scuffle back in Hoaknoton quite some time ago.
A sobering experience.
The blood coursing through her veins boiled and burned, a hand rested on her cheek and her lips were stoic with a smirk. One long leg crossed over the other as she watched them go at it. However, she knew what went on within that arrogant mind of his, his corruption, not unlike her own, was given life by a number of factors that dealt with the injustices of the World Government. They never truly sat down and exchanged life stories, but kindred spirits had no need to give visage on their history; only cognitive expressions on their motives.
Few words went a long way. The trio were far more in sync without the need for them; despite having the appearance of lawless, chaotic villains.
What served as a bit of a standstill became a deal struck between the two if the other's victory was assured. Goldi had no qualms with what was at stake, at least if they were to be imprisoned things would prove to be more entertaining than sailing the seas uneventfully pursing danger. She would've been right where she wanted to be, in fact. However, she knew where this was all going; no way would Galand actually give them up like that.
There was just one more rule I forgot to mention... Luka Scarlet
Ah, there it was. Goldi was waiting for the cue as much as she was sure that GoGo had been as well. The limber amazon rolled her body up to a stand. Her face twisted in a devilish grin, stretched wide with her rows of pearly whites showing; a Cheshire grin in resemblance to the Yonkou she'd met on that day a little over a year ago.
We. Are. Pirates.
In one moment, Goldi had been standing not too far off from the pair on a small throne of debris, but by the tail end of Galand's statement she'd already taken action, leaving it behind as she leapt from it post-haste. Covering short amount of distance that sat between them so that by the time the feisty redhead had swung her body around Galand for a surprise attack from the rear, she'd be greeted by a slightly crouched Goldy five feet in front of her; having made it in a nick of time. Her presence was menacing, the weight of it was physical as her body was layered in a sharp blackness that didn't appear as though it was from this world but from the cosmos in the far outreaches of space itself. Her sapphiric pools pierced coldly through the darkness.

At around the same time that Luka had aimed her blade for Galand's back, black scrapes of an otherwise translucent wind would pull Luka away from him with enough gravitational force to easily sweep her off of her feet and quickly usher her towards Goldi's wickedly smiling self. She'd probably find difficulty in performing that fanciful tactic she employed to get behind Galand given her current state of lost movement and footing. A blackened fist roared from an outstretched arm during this pull, aiming to collide and slam into the woman's torso with all of her might.
However, Luka's thoughts were correct. There was no honor among pirates. Not for the World Government's attack dogs at least.

The redhead had been speaking openly to her sweet Galand as if she was strong enough to change the way this poor world worked. Didn't she understand?! Only they had the right to change the innocent and deem who would move on in their new world. Not her. Not the World Government. Not those corrupted Gorosei who sat on their thrones and goring themselves on the will of the people, but them and only them! Words like those could only be spoke if she had the ability to rule - to change things. Far as Gyui was concerned, this woman was no more than another sheep in the herd and would fall in tow with whatever order their shepherd gave. She was no one special.
And of course, the wicked don't just allow the little bird to sing without repercussion.
Galand's phrase prompted a smile that stretched from one ear to the next; an admirable glare that held so much disdain for Luka, she'd be dead if looks could kill. A sudden mass of cold would form onto her figure as she hopped on off her makeshift seat, watching Goldi be the one to initiate with a gusto, GoGo followed suit right after getting into position as the woman was being pulled.

Flowing frost and temperature permeated the air as a glistening glow of white came off her being - the attack so cold, the area around freezing completely over as ice took formation on various rock and debris. After and only after Goldi had put her down would this come along! The ball imploding then exploding on top of Luka to smash her further into the earth below, both freezing her in place and crashing down the cosmic cold energy from the attack, the cackle of one pinkette right after.
"Who dares defy our right to rule?!"

[ Galand waited. He wanted to see the choice she’d make. His body, ready to react no matter what choice she’d decide on. After all, he is the one that gave her the choices. He stands there, looking down at her smaller frame, almost feeling pity for her. Why pity? Because he knows. He chose Luka for a reason. She’s headstrong, but brave enough to fight for her ideals. She believes wholeheartedly in true justice. She’s a light. The moment her mouth opens, uttering fragments of the worst case scenario, she breaks his fears and moves to strike. A massive grin crosses his face as he crouches and lunges into the air.
As he gets up high, far beyond the reach of any of their arms or weapons, he’d tilt backwards, descending. His right arm reaches back and he unsheathes his greatsword from his back as his allies attacks make work of the unsuspecting Luka. As he holds the weapon with both hands, his muscles bulge and solidify, almost resembling steel. No, stronger. A combination of life return and Tekkai. With Luka trapped in place, he’d swing his weapon with all his might, moving to both cleave into and smash the woman clear into the ground. An attack from three different angles, her movements suppressed, and her range of escape thoroughly narrow. Luka would need some sort of miracle to rightfully escape this bloody-go-round. “Bloody…” he’d start right before making contact. “...STAMPEDE!” A powerful strike meant to spill blood. And with the force force the strike, Luka would likely be sent planted into the earth hard. Stay down, Little Bird. You’ve clipped wings. Anymore than this, and you could die. And for the world’s sake, that would just be a shame. ]

"COWARDS! HEATHENS!" A bellow split the air like thunder. The sound of metal boots slamming into packed dirt followed as Vot charged up to this skewed fight sword in hand. He had been on his way from another island to help relief efforts here on Cactus Island. Only brazen cowards would attack someone in such a way. Of course they were pirates! Dust kicked up around the man in armor as he charged, the stale dirt settling on glistening, cold steel. Arms swelled with explosive energy, threatening to pop, as Vot'gul, defender of justice and destroyer of heretics, swung his sword down between the quartet! KRAKABOOM! As soon as his weapon made contact with the ground, a massive explosion would rupture outwards from the point of impact in a fifty-foot radius!
Technique Name: Pamu Pamu no Hinja no Bara Description: Vot'gul can cause a body part or weapon to swell up before hitting an opponent or inanimate object, causing an explosion in a radius around the point of impact appropriate for the tier. Her attempted stab would fail it seemed. As she got into place, Galand simply crouched and jumped away from her, not being as easily dealt with as she had hoped. But she had bigger problems to deal with right now. Like the sudden suction effect she was feeling from behind as she glanced back, seeing Goldilocks having already entered the fray. How troublesome. She also had some sort of attraction power as a blacked fist was aimed for Luka's backside. She sighed, not entirely surprised that they would already be ready to group up on her. She still had her knees bent, so as she came closer to Goldi, she snapped them down, kicking off the air suddenly and moving over her opponent's punch quickly flipping herself in the air to land properly behind the woman. She was in a bad spot and right now she would give this everything she had. The fire now burning in her soul demanded it. She immediately coated her entire body in as strong of an armor as she could, enforced by that same burning spirit she held as she thrust the sword in her left hand forwards, to stab through Goldi's chest and lungs from behind much like she was going to do to Galand a moment before.
In this state, her body was reinforced immensely by the Busoshoku Haki, rendering her body quite uncaring to the cold effects produced by the weakest of the trio. The ice forming over her body was actually harmless at this point as far as Luka was concerned, but there was also the concern of Galand dropping down from above with his blade about to strike. With the freezing ice that had attempted to hold her in place being weaker than herself, not to mention blocked by her Haki armor anyways, she'd be able to move as he struck down at her head. Galand's blade would slash through Luka's head, only to fail and pass through an afterimage as she had already moved out of the way. With him still airborne and mid strike, she'd appear to the side his swung blade was away from, her left sword swinging into Galand's torso backhandedly to drive the blade into his body as deep as possible.
Then something highly unexpected had occurred. Yet another fighter had arrived unto the scene. A man in heavy armor ran in, declaring them all cowards and heathens before slamming his blade into the ground itself, which started to swell up rapidly. s**t... Without but a momentary delay, the ground itself would erupt and explode, enveloping the entire area in a blazing explosion that threatened to swallow up all the combatants involved. Luka at the very least would be fine thanks to her armor, but she'd used the swallowing explosion as a distraction to make a bit more distance from where Galand and Goldi had been previously. She'd make sure to shift away, quickly moving away from all the pirates and getting at least a good thirty or forty feet away from the nearest of the three pirates, trying to survey the area and figure out the next course of action.
Techniques Technique Name: Geppou Description: An advanced technique that enables the user to literally kick off of the air itself in order to maneuver in three dimensions. When in use, Luka is able to move about in three dimensions by kicking off of the air itself and can even remain airborne by bouncing in place with this technique. Technique Name:Intermediate Busoshoku Haki Description: This level of Busoshoku Haki possesses the same qualities as Basic Busoshoku Haki, as well as new additions. The user may cover their entire body in invisible armor for two posts at a time; it extends to the weapons the user is holding at the time. It can be used to increase offense or defense anywhere from [100] to [200], depending on the amount of Spirit paid. Intermediate Busoshoku Haki defends against the harmful effects of elements, such as the intense heat of the Magu Magu no Mi, or the frigid temperatures of the Hie Hie no Mi; i.e., it prevents the user form being frozen, melted, or from succumbing to the effects of temperature, etc. Intermediate Busoshoku can be used to coat projectiles or any object that leaves the user's body. Summary Luka was pulled back by [Whirlpool] and used [Geppou] to flip over Goldilocks and her punch, activating a full body armor of [Busoshoku Haki] before stabbing into her chest. As Galand descended upon her, she evaded with [Soru Echo], letting him strike her afterimage as she stabbed into him while he was mid slash and still in the air. The Busoshoku coating allowed Luka to block and disregard GoGo's [Cosmic Cold Cataclysm] as well as withstand the force of Vot'Gul's [Pamu Pamu no Hinja no Bara] without sustaining any damage as she re-positioned herself during the blast for a better view of the battlefiend.
So maybe the finch was more resourceful than previously anticipated.
Goldi's reaching strike missed yet the woman's body still swept around her. With a smack of the lips the scowling woman rose her defenses. It didn't take a fool to notice what was going to becoming next given she'd just witnessed her attempting it just moments ago. As Luka made an attempt to get around Goldi, the latter pivoted herself around in response. A tint of soot gray darkened her body like steel as that blade came towards her. Unfortunately for Luka, it'd be met with an uncanny defense, not unlike her own. A sharp parry with her left forearm to knock the blade away from her.
She set a few feet between them as Luka continued her flurry of motions. However, as this went on, through her peripherals, Goldi witness some armor-clad knight wanting to play unsung hero enter the fray. However, as he'd swing his blade down in a desperate attempt to rend the land and all within the vicinity with an explosion, he'd find his legs coalesced in ice given he didn't take the time to actually analyze his surroundings before diving in head first. Had he done so he would've noticed that he was jumping into a tundra created by Goldi's comrades.
However, he'd still get his attack off at the same time.
A dome of explosive, volatile force erupted around them. The dirt, stone, and debris flung about created a thick veil of smoke and dust. However, almost immediately after the explosion came the swift, unseen metallic hand that grabbed immediately for the marauder's throat, caring not about the ingot layers he thought were protecting him. The hand was obsidian now, oozing lilac ichor, the deathly glow from a narrowed eye emitting same hue; like staring into the endless abyss of a nebula. It's vice-like grip wouldn't be something easily broken.

Forthwith actions followed those unforgiving words as the righteous knight would find himself swiftly hoisted from the ground only to be slammed back into it and dragged a ways away across its surface out from the puff of smoke and through the gravel; head banged several times through it along the way. Along the way the man would find himself unable to explode, the blackness plaguing him to make as if he'd never gotten his abilities to begin with. Her attention was paid to the woman whom apparently had the luck of the gods on her side and the agility of a frog. The Redhead leaped right on out of Goldi's grip and, from her understanding, went running off into the distance to god knows where. GoGo blinked a few times, trying to think of something snarky to remark about as the sound of Vot screaming into the area caught her attention. Though he was stopped, albeit a little, by her previous assault, his ground slam had caused the ground to swell. .then, explode?! Interesting. It too little effort for her to back off a few feet, away, grasping Galand to make sure he didn't get caught by surprise. Now they were really getting started!
Preparing to wage in on the assault, her hand glimmered with frost, but before properly being able to do anything the armored man was literally dragged through the ground and then sent flying off into the distance. She had to cover her mouth to stop herself from laughing at the sight. The man was here for like, two seconds! "That was short lived." Staying on guard in cause Red decided to rear her forehead again, she made sure to stand within close proximity of the big strong man. She was a damsel after all~
