The battle is officially over and the winners are.... Kirsi and her Growlithe, Chance.
It was a tough battle decision but here is breakdown what was judged:
-Chance's ability intimidate and move Leer cut down at Yamask's defense and attack for the battle. -Meanwhile, Yamask took away bite after it was used and used Astonish 4x in battle, 2 of them causing Growlithe to flinch. -however, even with STAB, Astonish was not strong enough after intimidate and only have a base power of 30 to begin with. -in comparison, Bite, while not having a STAB, did more damage due to being a physical move used after the use of Leer and for being attack type strong than Yamask's typing. Meanwhile Ember earned a STAB to add the damage done by Bite already.
As the winner, Dragonfly, you can post Kirsi's final battle post to end the battle in any matter....Just don't go too crazy.
Congrats girls, the battle was very interesting and fun to read =D. Thank you for taking part in the tourney.

KIRSIm❄mrhodes mm➨ >>t
ooc: haha, don't worry about it, it's the best move~ and I don't think Kirsi will hold it against Eve long (because she won), although she is definitely very unnerved by Yamask now xD
Kirsi watched the two pokemon in the center closely, heart pounding. If she timed her command wrong, told Chance to move before he was ready, she'd throw off any hope of turning it around. But if she commanded him too late, Chance might be too hurt to move. The second she saw what she thought was an opening, she readied to call out. But she couldn't. Gasping, Kirsi realized she'd been holding her breath. She sucked in a big breath to calm herself and watched for the next chance. Heh. Chance. She almost missed it. There! "Chance, roll over and use ember!" Chance kicked with his back legs, body rolling on the ground so his belly was facing up. With paws drawn in to protect them, he fired, spewing embers from point-blank range.
Kirsi watched with bated breath as Yamask faltered, and then Chance was picking himself up, shaking off the dust on his fur, and trotting back to her the victor. "You did it Chance!" Kirsi met him halfway and knelt, hands hovering over his body. "Chance, are you- stop- ha- stop- haha, stop it!" Chance had started licking at her hands, keeping her from checking on his body for wounds. She managed to pet him on the head and returned him before walking to the center to meet Eve. "Um." Kirsi tried to wipe her hand on her shorts. "Chance.. kind of.. licked my hands.." Most of her bitterness towards Evelyn had evaporated because she had won the battle. "Good battle," Kirsi said, sticking her hand out as a fist so Eve wouldn't feel obligated to touch her growlithe-licked palm.
Then Kirsi had to leave and get Chance healed. She could barely believe she had made it into another round. She would fight Koru next, right? She couldn't tell if she wished Koru had lost so they wouldn't have to fight or that Koru had won because she wanted her friend to do well.

Perhaps Evelyn’s sudden decision to go on the strict offensive was a bad thing. As Yamask was beating on Chance it appeared to be working. However, there was no doubt that the ghost Pokémon was getting tired. There was no denying it, even if Yamask was far from vocal about it. The spectacle wearing Kingdra wasn’t expecting what Kirsi was about to have Chance do. In fact watching the very display was awe inspiring despite it being her opponent who was displaying some strategic moves. Seeing Chance roll and then use ember there was literally nothing Evelyn could do to change the outcome. There wasn’t enough time to retaliate with protect like she would have done in this circumstance.
Getting hit point blank by the flames Yamask shakily floated backwards and collapsed to the ground. For once Evelyn saw her ghost Pokémon hit the ground. “Yamask!” She said in shock before rushing over to him. He was definitely out for the count as she saw him lay there motionless.“Chance really pushed you to your limits…” She said quietly as she pulled out his pokéball. “But you did great.” She added returning her ghost Pokémon to his pokéball.
Getting up off the ground Evelyn brushed herself off as she turned her attention to Kirsi. The red haired girl had one fair and square. With a smile, the dark haired girl was a little out of her element when Kirsi stuck her hand out in a fist. She figured it out quick enough before bumping fists with her.“Yeah good battle, you and Chance were really good.”She agreed brightly.“Good luck in the next round Kirsi.” Evelyn told her. Well she didn’t pull out a win for Ichiro and Tsutarja but they did try their best. That was all Evelyn could ever hope for.

Both combatants had clearly displayed their fighting spirit! Neither Pokemon nor Trainer had showed any signs of giving up during their battle. The excitement in the air was certainly palpable and was only amplified by large audience that overlooked the battlefield. The amount of energy within the stadium was truly an amazing spectacle all on its own. Some members of the audience waved colourful banners, while others stood up from their spot in the bleachers with hands cupped to their mouth, fervently giving loud cheers that rose above the rest. But that was nothing compared to the excitement that was to come.
Once Oliver observed one of the two combatant's Pokemon collapse, his decision had been made. Taking a step forward from his place at the edge of the arena, Oliver kept both flags down at his sides, before taking in a deep breath. An expert in his field, Oliver was proud to announce this battle's winner. "Alright, this battle has come to a close." His bright eyes lit up as his clear voice projected through the small mic he wore on his ear, commanding the attention of the entire stadium. "The Winner is..." Raising his right hand, he pointed his green flag at the only Pokemon still standing. "Kirsi Rhodes and her Growlithe, Chance!" Suddenly, a loud roar had erupted from the audience, as cheers and applauds dominated the air around both young trainers. Although both Pokemon had fought adamantly and had given their all, it was a shame only one could walk way a winner. "Kirsi will be moving on to the Semifinals! Stay tuned folks for what's come!"
Lowering his flag, Oliver soon expressed his personal congratulations to the winner and prepared to take a small break before judging the next battle in the long lineup of matches. He truely had his work cut out for him.
