I wasn't raised open minded (towards homosexuality anyway >.>) but I never listened anyway. Always been to easy going to care who anyone's sleeping with, along as it's consensual of course. I like I said in another thread, I went into a rant with my friends because Zoicite was turned into a woman in the Sailor Moon dub (way before I actually saw the sub) just cause he was going out with Kunzite. At that time I didn't even know about BL. So when I finally came across it in GW, all it really did was unleash my inner pervert. blaugh

Not really. I thought the idea of certain male anime characters getting together was sexy and hot. I mean I wrote on the AS board called Things FMA Characters Would Never Say this scene where Envy and Ed were kissing on a bench,(he was supposed to be pretending to be Winry). And I just thought the whole thing was sexy, even though it was supposed to be comedy scene I wrote.
Little did I realize I was going to find books featuring Envy X Ed in reality. Several yaoi books and images later, here I am! Of course with the way people were in my school, and the way my mom is, it wasn't an easy thing to embrace. Of course the kids in my school always had something stuck up their asses anyways.

I've never really been grossed out by it at any point in my life, probably because when I was younger I actually used to slash my Barbie dolls since I didn't have Ken, and I never really figured out at first that it was any different from het ships. So even when I did find out that het ships were apparently "normal", I was so used to my own views that I just saw no problem with slashiness. 3nodding

iwanttobeasleep Did gay guys kissing and doing. . .other things. . .creep you out, even a little? I know it did for me, but I got used to it and now, here I am. I'm curious, because I am off the opinion that the reason most women aren't into yaoi/BL is because it's strange to them and thus creepy the first time around, and gets avoided after that. Most women LIKE yaoi. They don't get turned away from it, they like it because they can relate to it better then a hetero pairing. Also, if you thought two guys kissing was gross,t hen you shouldn't be here. I loved yaoi, I loved slashing boys together before I knew there was such thing as a BL anima or manga.

When I was a wee child, and thought that a pairing of any gender was creepy, yes. >.> But, not since then. One would anticipate me to be a bit creeped out by it--if not thinking it blasphemous--considering I live in the south and everything that isn't an ideal image of the American dream is horribly disgusting. But, here I am, head-over-heels for BL anime and manga. <3 They thought they could brainwash me as a child. Nyahahaha!

Nope, I didn't. I was raised in an open-minded family... and am that way myself.
But it never freaked me out.

Well considering that my first experience with Yaoi/BL was a Dragon Ball Z Mpreg... *shudder* I was very, very squicked by it. I stayed away from Fanfiction dot net for a while. I might have gone back out of morbid curiosity, but I don't know how it went from there, to be honest. I had the first experience with it when I was eleven (Eleven years old+Preggy Vegeta AND Goku = DOES NOT COMPUTE) but two years later, well, here I am!
Never had a problem with homosexuality really, I used to be like all those idiots who say "That band is so gay," or "That test was so gay," or "That french fry is soooo gay!" But the thing is, at the time, I didn't know what it meant, really. Now I hate it when I hear people say "That's so gay" and stuff. I hate hearing it, but the thing is, when I say I don't like it people SPAZZ. "ZOMG ARE JOO GAYZ!?!!!1111oneoneone." To which I respond, "No, I'm just not an idiot."
People are stupid. *laugh* sweatdrop

I think I used to be a bit uncomfortable with the subject but thats about it >.<
To be truthfull even when I saw a hardcore christian I was never really that freaked out about the whole gay thing (I used to wonder what it was exactly god had against homosexuals anyway O.o) Its half the reason I dont completely believe in god anymore. at least not the christian god...

When I first came across a yaoi fanfic I was like, "Hmm, this is new o.0". Lucky for me it was a shounen ai fic so there was just kissing and fluff so it made it easier for me to get into it. But I did feel weird like "Ooo, am I supposed to be reading this o///o" when I read hardxcore buttsex yaoi xd
