Camilla pouted slightly after not hearing the satisfying click of a unlocked lock for a moment, but didn't give up! She did try and calm down a bit. She had to many things working against her that moment. Over excitement, hands that were in roughly three pares of gloves... Needless to say, she calmed down with a feel deep breaths and removed about two pares of gloves.
Now, with her focus sharper and her hands freer, it was time to unlock that lock! Carefully, she inserts the pick into the lock and wiggles it around for a moment. As she does, she uses her keen hearing to listen to the tumblers rising and falling. Finally, she moved the pick in just the right manner to hear a lovely "Click!" which causes her to smile excited! "Ooo! I got one open!" she announces, mostly to herself, excitedly!
Inside was a small bejeweled toad that looked like some kind of tourist trinket. Still, it was cute and she'd gotten it! Cheerfully, Camilla retrieves her treasure from it's box and carries it over to the scale. When weighted, it said it was worth four treasure. "four Treasure, just eleven more to go then!" she chirps excitedly before pocketing the frog and heading for another box!

Emboldened by her first success, Camilla decided to try something more... difficult. It didn't take the Dormouse ghoul long to find one of the boxes up in a tree, and after smiling confidently to herself, she begins scaling the tree! Camilla, being a Hazel Dormouse Monster and having a natural love of climbing, was as confident in the trees as she was on the ground! It took her almost no time at all to climb the tree and reach the rather precariously placed package. Oh this would be much trickier!
Carefully, Camilla wraps her besocked prehensile tail around the branch to act as a safety line before pulling out the kit. Because this box did seem more difficult, Camilla made sure to use the probe. She didn't want to get blown off the branch or anything... Once the box was deemed safe, she tried out a few of the other tools, just to see what they'd do. Finally however, when none of them actually unlocked the box, Camilla pulled out the pick.
Repeating the process she used on the first box, she carefully wiggles the pick around, raising and lowering tumblers, as she listens to their movements carefully. Soon, a audible, "Click" signaled the release of the lock! "Ooo! Got it!" she chirps excitedly before lifting up the lid! Inside, a small bejeweled bird awaited her! Fitting considering it was up in a tree! That fact didn't escape Camilla either and she couldn't help but giggle a bit over it as she carefully climbs down.
The scale said the bird was worth five treasure. With her frog and bird, she now had nine treasure! Just six more to go!

Again wanting something challenging, Camilla soon finds a box in a bush! While that might not seem very difficult, the bush had thorns was the box was kinda... crammed in there... Perfect! It was a good test of her new found skills! It took a bit of doing to get herself into the bush without getting thorned, and it might have seemed comical to anybody watching to see half a Dormouse sticking out of a bush. But Camilla didn't care! She had a box to unlock!
Getting to the box was one thing, getting the pick in the lock in that tiny space was another... It took a bit of maneuvering, but she finally got the pick in the lock! Once that was done, the rest came easy. She was starting to get a good feel for how the pick vibrated as it moved the tumblers, and a good ear for how they sounded. Soon, a "Click" signaled the boxes' opening! "Ooo! Got it!" she shouts from the bush as her tail sways happily!
The treasure inside this box really delighted the Dormouse ghoul! Inside was a small bejeweled mouse! The perfect treasure for a box in a bush!
After carefully untangling herself from the bush, Camilla weighs her newest treasure to find it was worth... Five treasure... "Aw... I'm one short..." she says slightly disappointingly with a bit of a pout... The disappointment didn't last long though, and after pocketing her newest treasure, she begins happily searching for another box!

Camilla needed just one more treasure! But the question was, should she do a easy box or a hard box? There were plenty of boxes scattered everywhere, she could pick any one she wanted. However, it was a tiny little box that finally caught her attention. The small box was tucked away just behind a rock and was more the size of a ring box then a regular box. The lock on the box was just was tiny, too! Now this would be a challenge!
Carefully, Camilla picks up the tiny box and was surprised by how weighty it was! Gently, she slips the tip of the lockpick into the lock and carefully moves it around while listening equally as carefully. It took a bit more effort and care to get the tumblers in place, but finally, a tiny satisfying "Click" sounded as the box lid pops open! "Yay!" she chirps as she puts her pick back in her kit and lifts the lid!
Inside was a fairly sizable chunk of quartz! the white part was clear and unmarred, and the purple at the bottom was rich and vibrant! To a collector, the mineral might have been worth a pretty seed. To the average person however, it was just pretty. Though, Camilla did have an eye for fine gems and crystals and could tell it was of a good quality, she never intended to sell it anyway. Happily, she moves over to the scale with her newest treasure. Surprisingly, the quartz was worth five treasure! She had more then enough now! "Ooo! I have enough!" she chirps excitedly before moving over to the undead WereHyena. "I got nineteen treasure!" she says happily with a merry tailwag was she pulls out her frog, bird, mouse, and the quartz crystal to show him as proof.
Once that was done, she tucks all the treasures back in her enchanted pockets and move to sit down in the grass. Despite the frigid air, the pumpkin sun was nice and warm. After finding a nice patch of sun, Camilla sits down and watches the others attempt to open the boxes. One ghoul, a canid ghoul by some look, caught her attention. Her scent and appearance reminded her of another canid who often attended these classes.
Despite the resemblance, and her own curiosity, Camilla was too warm and comfortable to want to move right then... Winter tended to make the normally hyper Dormouse ghoul quite lazy...

The voice of the teacher raised up over the din of the students' chatter, silencing them to listen to his introduction. Professor Kenner ... or was it just Kenner? She had noticed the boxes strewn about the room - it was hard to notice when it was on literally every surface in the class - and figured since it was called 'Breaking and Entering 103'. So the assignment was relatively easy in words; get 15 pieces of treasure by picking the locks of the boxes around the room. Sounded easy, but it was probably difficult in practice since... they had no actual training. It was like throwing someone into the woods and telling them to survive. Brenna rolled her eyes as she scooted up out of her seat. It was then that she had noticed Damien had also entered the class. Wasn't he a third year student? What was he- ... he was probably here to learn as well. Most definitely. Yes. Surely alumni are encouraged to return to expand their knowledge as well. Right, right. She should go say 'hi'. But she had kept their interactions to a minimum. What would she say to the boil? 'Hi, it's me, the ghoul who assigned you to find my brother a boilfriend/ghoulfriend. The one who keeps barging into your room when you two are hanging out. The one who had been instructed to stay out of her brother's house on the weekends. It's me, Brenna!'. She smiled at the thought of how to greet the boil on a day to day basis. Perhaps it will become a game to her.
Or she will trip up or chicken out or babble or mutter something nonsensical.
Well, this was a class and she had to focus. Offering a lingered glance, Brenna skipped down to Kenner to grab her kit. Going to the first box, she took her tension and pick and naively jammed it into the lock. Oh look, it hadn't broken! Lets wiggle it some- CRACK - oops...

Alright, jamming the pin into the keyhole won't do them much good. The tension was used for something and the pin was for... picking. But what was she picking at? She held the tools in her hand as she stood before a relatively large box with a relatively larger hole than the last. Carefully, she knelt before it. The tension fit rather snug inside the entrance. She used the pin carefully to feel around and explore the inner chambers. A click sound made her ears twitch. Was that something important? She wiggled the pick a bit more and felt an absence of what was there moments before. A few more clicks and the tension turned easily and the door popped free of its casing.
Her eyes lit up, her heart raced, and her tail wagged. "I got it!" She exclaimed as she excavated the ruby, and a few miscellaneous items, from the box. She held the gem in her hand before she began to roll it around in her palm. It was... a phony. Figured. It was a class, why would a teacher put such an expensive object for students to find and potentially take? It was still pretty.

Alright, she needed to feel her tension be able to turn within the lock.
She needed to hear some clicks and feel her pin go up into something.
Closing her eyes, she used her heightened hearing to listen inside the chamber. The sound of metal on metal like it was rubbing and hitting against the sides. The sound of an audible, familiar click as her pin moved up. That was one. She pushed forward until the pin entered another access - another click. Brenna grinned as she entered the next access. However, as she pushed up there was no give. Taken back, the ghoul tried harder, perhaps the inner pin was locked. That was when she heard the crack again. Withdrawing her pin, the demon hound pouted as her once bent pin was now straight. She had lost the hook inside.
"Ugh, I was so close!"
