Lyra Emmalyn She blushed slightly at his happy birthday, but her small smile turned into a look of confusion as her eyes darted towards him. He didn't have a birthday... It was a confusing thought, she'd never known anyone who didn't know their own birthday. She thought it was much like knowing your name, and at least he knew that. She pulled her arm off the side of the door and sat up straight. They were now pulling up to the mansion and the driver was coming to a slow stop.
"Well at least you know your name." She consoled lightly, not having much experience in making others feel better. She was a rather selfish child. She grabbed the bag of stuff from the shop and gripped the elegant bird cage in the same hand. With the other she gripped his leash.
"I'll see you soon sweetheart." He father said, and in one fell swoop her disappointment and rage lit up inside her. She was half way out of the car and stopped, sitting on the outside edge of the seat.
"Daddy, you promised. You can't just leave... you're not even going to walk me back inside?" She asked, her voice being louder every couple of words.
"I can't, I don't have time." He told her, his voice hardening. He's really wasn't in the mood for her spoiled personality to be spilled all over him right now. "Do not cause a scene young lady." She sneered at him and jumped out of the car, accidentally pulling on the leash too hard. She paused and waited for Cole to follow her and for the leash to go slack, not even closing the car door. She turned on heel and headed into the mansion, her steps quick and fierce. Before she opened the large intricately carved mahogany door, a servant did the honors, and bowed as she passed by him.
Her nanny, Nanny Joe beamed at her with the other two, Miss Em, and Miss Murtle.
"Happy birthday Lyra!" They said. She glowered at them, forced to pause and wait as they slid a huge 6 layer pink cake out on a small silver trolley. Several young girls and a couple of boys from her school also popped out and dashed around the beautiful mansion lobby. She didn't want this though. She wanted to be out with her father, and these brats were just rubbing it in. She was beginning to steam at the unfairness of all this when they all called out Happy Birthday. Then... she just snapped, dropping the bird cage beside her. Still gripping the leash, which was fairly long, but curled around her wrist a couple of times, Lyra stalked forward and shoved the trolley with the cake over on it's side in a heated rage.
"I don't WANT a party!" She screamed. "I want my DAD!" Leaving the mess behind she left them in a stunned silence and went up the stairs, still dragging the poor Pixie along. Once in her room on the second floor, she slammed the door as hard as she could and dared one of her nannies to come and console her. They knew better, but she loved yelling and screaming at someone when she felt like this. This was absolutely a disaster, and she was having trouble deciding whether this was the worst birthday ever. She dropped his leash, and glared at him.
"Don't you run away... or fly... away... " She stumbled, her eyes enviously flickering to his beautiful glowing wings. "I'll come down on you so hard! I swear!" And then... she started screaming hatefully. After a few minutes of cursing up a storm and kicking things around her room she threw herself down on her bed, ending her tantrum in a flood of dramatic tears.
"They are stupid. I hate them" She murmured once she had calmed down minutes later. Her mood swings were often quick and devastating. ((Ok, so the mansion is huge and pretty. Lavishly designed, and every single piece of furniture and square of carpet is so comfortable. Feel free to elaborate on the description xD I also made a few NPCs for free use, of course(the nannies) We can change their names if you want))

When Cole found himself on his side because of a surprisingly strong yank on the collar from the girl he knew he was in trouble. Cole tried to say something to her in a desperate attempt to calm her down before she strangled him, but this was interrupted when she started stomping towards the door, Cole getting pulled out of the car and forced to stumble along behind her as she went up to the now open door. Cole took the chance he got and caught his breath as she stopped in the main lobby. He thought she had calme down, but he couldn't of been more wrong. In a matter of seconds she had knocked over the cake and was halfway up the stairs, the pixie struggling to keep as close as she was holding the leash and avoid stepping on her feet. And then they were in the little girls room, the door slammed shut before a surprisingly threatening comment came from the little girl. And too be quite honest he was a little scared. The girl was filled with a rage, and he wasn't that much bigger then her. Not to mention pixies weren't the embodiment of strength. The little girl probably could overpower and take him down. Cole sighed at the thought and stood in the corner, waiting for the girl to calm down before speaking. "I know this probably isn't a great time...but....uhm....next time can you not pull on the leash so much princess?"

Lyra Emmalyn At the sound of his voice and the content of his words Lyra opened her eyes and flashed venomous daggers at him.
"I'll pull on it all I want." She said to him, challenging him. But soon after she let out a soft sigh, her anger now completely replaced by heavy disappointment. The young girl sat up and looked over at him, much calmer than just moments before, and then motioned to a large dog bed next at the foot of her bed. "I got you that." She told him absently. She didn't really want a slave anymore... her father's choices today ruined it.
"You can play with my toys if you want." With that she scooted off her bed and took a seat on a plush ottoman under the window. Propping her chin on her hands she looked out, watching the beautiful garden being tamed and cultured by skilled gardeners.((Sorry, I OOC a lot. e.e))

Cole decided to ignore the girl from now on. She was interested in him and he sure as heck was interested in her. He didn't even know why she bothered getting a slave to begin with. For the fun of it? Did one of he friends get one so she had to have one too? Who knew with these rich families... Cole let out a sigh and stretched, walking over to the bed and laying down on it. He wasn't sleeping on a doggie bed. So with a yawn he stretched out his arms and then curled up a little, closing his eyes and attempting to sleep. (xD your fine. I forget to respond to ooc sometimes. xD)

Lyra Emmalyn Lyra furrowed her brows, hearing her bed being used. With a silent intake of breath she stood from her seat and turned around to glare at him.
"That's my bed." She said firmly, then walked over and shoved him right off. She stood with her arms crossed. Her room was fairly large, with lots of white and gold on the walls, and in her simple outfit she probably didn't fit the image of 'princess' when it came to fitting in. But her posture, and haughty behavior would change the mind of any skeptic. She wasn't about to let some slave sleep in her bed either.
"You can sleep in your bird cage if you don't want to sleep on that stupid bed." She spat at him, huffing and looking away. She temporarily forgot that the bird cage was currently on the marble floor down stairs by the front door.

Cole growled a little as the girl pushed him off of the bed and tried to scold him. He stood and picked up the doggie bed, throwing it across the room and returning the girls glare. "If you think that I'm going to listen to you for even a second your more then wrong 'princess'!" Cole said before he got back onto the bed, this time climbing under the tucked in covers to make it harder for her to push him off. He would win this war.

Lyra Emmalyn The girl squealed angrily. She shut her eyes, her face turning red, and then squealed some more. Then she started growling, and curses began flying out of her mouth. If she was trying to control herself, she was doing an extremely poor job at it. Finally, she stepped forward and ripped one of the pillows out from under his head. Raising it high above her she glared at him coldly before bringing it down hard. She then found herself seriously beating him with the impossibly soft pillow, even climbing on the bed to get a better angle and better leverage.
"You will listen to me!" She cried, slamming the pillow down on him over and over again. "I own you, flyboy!!"

Cole was shocked by the girls next actions. As the pillow was pulled out from under his head he looked up at her with an angry glare, about to yell when she brought the pillow back down on his face. In a matter of seconds she was on top of him, her flailing body keeping him from protecting himself as she beat him with the pillow. He returned her unkind words with words of his own, the room filling with curses and anger as the two bickered back and forth. "You can't own me! You can't own anything kid!" He said before he finally managed to grab the pillow and threw it across the room with the doggie bed, catching his breath as he sat up in the bed, eyeing Lyra as she sat on his shins.

Lyra Emmalyn "Ugh! Don't call me kid!" She managed just before he tore the pillow out of her hands and flung it across the room. She was shocked by this and fell into a temporary silence as she watched the pillow hit the wall, knock a few thing down on her dresser, and then land on top of the doggy bed. She turned a haughty glare down at him. After a few moments she pulled herself to the side and off of his legs, curling her knees up to her chest.
"If you keep being mean to me, I won't let you share my birthday with me." She said childishly. It had been a brief thought in the car... she thought maybe he could have her birthday's day to since he didn't know his. She wasn't about to reward his behavior with such a - to her - grand gesture of generosity, however.

Cole was admittedly a little shocked by the girls response. Why would she share her birthday with him? Not only did it not seem like her, but she was treating him like a dog, not like an equal. So why would she even bring up that she was thinking about being nice? Thinking about this took him out of his angry trance and his expression began to reflect that of dissapointment. He had always really wanted to know his birthday... Know when he was born to gauge the last time he really had freedom. The last time he felt safe and comfortable. The last time he knew his parents... Cole quickly snapped back to reality, giving the girl a weak glare. "I...w-who said I even wanted a birthday...." Cole said in an almost spiteful tone before he got off the bed and walked to the corner, sitting down on the dog bed and hugging the pillow.

Lyra Emmalyn Lyra was watching him with her big brown eyes, and then she smirked and rolled them at his response. As he walked over to the dog bed, as he should in her opinion, she replied. "Who doesn't want a birthday? That's silly. Just because you can't remember yours doesn't mean that you don't get one." She averted her eyes and began to count the blessings that having a recognized birthday gave a person.
"For one, you get cake, and people that yell happy birthday to you and only you... unless you have a twin or something I guess. Next you get presents. Lots of presents!" She suddenly seemed to be enthusing herself. "And sometimes your parents come and be with you on your birthday. It's a good day to have." She finished explaining, and began smoothing her bed sheet absently. Her bedroom had become quite a mess, but it really wasn't her problem. The maids would clean it either later this afternoon, or tomorrow while she was eating breakfast. She looked up at him, and focused her gaze.
"I haven't opened my presents yet. You can have some of them if you want. But I get all the big ones!" Clipped in the last part greedily, but a giggle escaped her, and lit up her eyes. "C'mon, let's go!" She suddenly popped off the bed and ran to him, ready to drag him down the stairs and to her birthday party. The kids probably left by now, especially after her explosion downstairs, but she knew her nannies wouldn't have let them take back the presents.

Cole struggled to try and keep from giving into her pull but soon found himself standing next to her, her arms gripped tightly onto his own as he sighed and lowered his head. "...I don't want any presents..." He mumbled as he followed the energetic young girl out of the room and down the stairs. Who did she think she was anyways?!?! (that pm idea is great btw)

Lyra Emmalyn Once the made it down the stairs, Lyra held up her hand in a motion for him to stop before they met the very bottom of them. From there she called very primly for her nannies.
"Nanny Jo!" It took a couple of moments, but for once Lyra waited patiently, her mood having been restored to a relatively calm state.
"Miss Emmalyn!"] All three of them had gathered at the foot of the stairs and were looking up at her with smiles. "You've come do-"
"Nanny." She said, cutting them off. "I want my presents. And cake! Two cakes, it's his birthday to." She said jabbing a thumb back at him. They seemed utterly surprised by this to say the least.
"Oh ok." Nanny Jo replied uncertainly, and then she snapped into her commandeering self. "You two, get started on the cakes!" They rushed off quickly. Nanny Jo beamed at them, and as Lyra passed her to head into the lounging hall, the nanny winked at Cole and followed her.
"C'mon!" Lyra called back to Cole from the other room. The rooms were still pretty large, and her voice echoed off the walls in an odd singsong fashion. Sitting on the plush white couch, Lyra smiled waiting for Nanny Jo to bring them her presents.

Cole was starting to realize that his opinion didn't really matter to the little girl. Because before he knew it he was at the bottom of the steps, listening to the girl command a cake for her and himself as well... It was a mDe thought but...he didn't.... He didn't know what to think. So he stayed quiet, blushing a little as the nanny gave him a wink. It was just a friendly wink...right? Cole didn't want to overthink it too mucb, so the pixie quickly joined Lyra on the couch. "Uhm...I didn't need my own cake..."

Lyra Emmalyn Sitting on the couch, Lyra shrugged the Pixie's modesty off nonchalantly and watched while Nanny Jo came wheeling in a small mountain of presents with the help of two male servants. She was excited to say the least, but this being her 12th birthday she kept herself as composed as possible. Acting like a kid was just unbecoming of her, she was already almost 13. Once all of the presents were laid out in front of them Lyra smiled intently at her pixie.
"Ok." She said. "You can have this one, this one, this one..." She began systematically placing small to medium sized presents in his lap. "But I get this one." She put a tiny present off to the side just knowing it was jewelry and it just had to be pretty.
"Why don't you let him choose a present of his own?" Nanny Jo asked smirking playfully. Lyra looked at her blankly as if she needed to process this wild notion of generosity.
"Um, ok, fine. You can pick one too but-" She pointed to three of the biggest presents in the back. "Those are mine."
