Ruka stood cutely with a sweet smile on her face, bowing as customers entered into the maid cafe. She was actually one of their most popular maids there, a switch from how much of an outcast she was at school. Dressed in her adorable uniform, the small bell chimed as Ruka heard the cafe door opened. Turning on her heel to greet the customer, her eyes widened as she saw the boy that everyone fawns over. Before she could ask him what the hell he was doing here, he had put his hand over her mouth and signaled her to be quite. She glared daggers at him as he did so, but she wasn't going to do anything about to risk causing a scene and losing her job.

Once his hand was removed from her face, she glanced back at the customers and maids behind her. Ruka cleared her throat as she put on a smile and sweetly said, "Welcome home, master!" after bowing she titled her head gently to the side. "What're you doing here?" she whispered angrily at him despite keeping the happy and cute expression on her face. If he had come here to make fun of her or have his monkeys harass her, oh boy did he have something coming. "And you better watch what you say or I'll scream about you being a pervert." Ruka warned him, turning her head back to gesture all the people around them.

Apparently Akira had stepped into a maid cafe of all placed, and the silent princess was dressed accordingly. The princess, despite her sweetly appearance and greeting, practically barked at him once they were to the side. "Easy there princess. I'm just dodging the track team, not trying to cause a scene." While she seemed timid and unsocial at school, she had quite a bark. He glanced back out the window, not seeing any of the track members outside. He was out of the frying pan, but he might have fallen into the fire. "I'm get out of your hair." he said, checking the time and walking to the door.

Ruka raised her eyebrows as he left the cafe, the door chiming as he exited. "I await your return, master!" the girl chirped as he left, relieved he was gone. Ruka sighed and fixed her appearance, returning to focusing on her work.

~Time Skip to Next Day~

Grey orbs fluttered open as Ruka awoke in her bed. Her alarm was going off for school, but she didn't want to go today. She might come late, but she wasn't going to go now. She turned her alarm off, turned to the side and hugged the large stuffed bear next to her. She was exhausted, mentally and physically. Work was hectic yesterday, more customers came in than normal. She stared at the wall next to her bed, collecting her thoughts. Ruka decided to just go back to sleep for now, she'll deal with school and meals later. Besides, her mom was probably already gone. Being a single mother, she was always out working and most of the time Ruka had to clean the house and cook for herself. It was lonely at times and sometimes she felt very sad about it. But she understood that her mom had to work to keep an income for them to live and she has go 16 years without a real friend so being alone wasn't a big deal at all. Closing her eyes, Ruka fell back into her dreams.

He was going to be late for the train if he didn't sprint out now. He cursed before giving a final farewell and running out of the cafe towards the station; "Crap. Later Princess!" He made it to the train just as the doors were shut behind him, and he breathed a sigh of relief that he'd make it to the store on time.

-Next day-
Akira woke up late as usual. Work had him returning to his vacant home late at night. Even though he had to take the train, he didn't regret working there, but was also thankful no one at school knew. After changing and eating his breakfast, he ran to school as per the norm. He must have run a little slower as a girl was putting a letter in his locker. That just meant he had a confession to drop. For some reason though, he pictured the silent princess. She wouldn't have given a confession letter though, didn't match her personality.

He made his wy to the class, dodging sports teams asking him again. The bell rang and they left the classroom while the rest of his entourage returned to their seats. The teacher started role call, and Akira thought it would be another boring class, but one name was marked absent, followed by snickers of the rest of the students. Akira looked over to see the seat next to him empty. "Is she sick?" he asked the student behind him. "She's always been sick. Shouldn't be here in the first place." Akira wasn't feeling like causing a scene in the classroom, but wondered where the princess was.

Ruka's eyes fluttered open once more, her dream interrupted. She let out a sigh as she turned over to stare at the ceiling, before turning on her side once more to glance at her alarm clock; 11:00 a.m. Ruka sat up, her comforter shifting as she did. The girl swung her legs over and stood as she stretched her arms and cracked her back. Making her way out of her bedroom, Ruka yawned loudly as she scratched the back of her neck. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted her cat, Marshmallow. "Good morning, Marshmallow." she yawned while proceeding to make her way to the bathroom to shower. She was debating whether or not to show up at school now. If she missed another day it wasn't a big deal, she'd just go pick up the work tomorrow and make it up as usual.

Ruka stood under the running hot water that poured from the shower head. She was collecting her thoughts about how to go about her day. She had to work later at the cafe but that wasn't until later in the afternoon. She did have to go to the grocery store at some point and pick up some food for dinner...Ruka shut off the shower, the knob making a squeaking noise as she did so. Stepping out and grabbing a towel, Ruka patted her face dry before picking up her phone. 11:30 a.m.

(I was thinking to give her a stalker from her cafe and one day he finally tries to follow her and stuff and then Akira could like help her??? It doesn't have to be done on this day but I thought it was a good idea.)

The class went on as usual without any more commotion over the silent princess. Akira didn't give his full attention as usual, and his thoughts were everywhere but kept returning to the silent princess. As infamous as she was around the school, she was one of the most mysterious in the school. It was definitely a surprise she worked at a maid cafe of all places. It was practically ironic, making her more of a wallflower. The class ended for lunch and Akira collected his things, looking over to the empty seat next to him. He wondered just how long he had ignored her through school as he started to walk to the school roof.

Ruka sat quietly at the table set for two as she ate her breakfast. It was pretty much silent in the room besides the occasional clanking of silverware against the plate and the dinging of the wind chime that was placed on the balcony. Soon after she was done eating and placed the dishes in the sink, she began to put on her clothing for the day. Placing on her usual outfit, Ruka grabbed her cellphone and keys and left the apartment. Leaving the complex, Ruka walked towards the train station. She'll head to pick up her work so she could get it done tonight and not have to worry about it tonight then head to the cafe and then grocery shopping for dinner. A pretty solid plan in her opinion. So, to the school first.

After a train ride and a few minutes of walking, Ruka arrived at the school. It was lunch time since the large groups of friends and gathering cliques were scattered around eating. Some gave her weird looks and whispers, surprised to see her out of uniform. She ignored them, making her way to the staff office to pick up today's classwork and homework. She nodded as she was given the papers and left. Maybe she'd visit the roof for a bit. Ruka slowly made her way up the stairs, opening the large metal door to reveal a spacious roof top. She was happy for a moment, enjoying the lovely air until she spotted him. "Oh, it's you again." she growled.

Somehow he didn't get a following on his route to the roof, something Akira couldn't complain about. It meant he'd enjoy his bento by himself without interruption, or so he hoped. Akira enjoyed the breeze the roof provided before laying on the ground. It was peaceful on the roof with no one around to chatter, which was a nice change. That change didn't last very long as he had hoped, as someone spoke, someone whose only image he could conjure up was a maid outfit. He opened one eye to look around, seeing the girl coming out of the door.

"Well hello to you too princess. Come to enjoy the breeze?" he said before sitting up and turning to face her. He moved his bento in front of him, not sure if she would stay or leave immediately. He didn't even think why until he remembered the incidents from yesterday. He shot up and bowed to her. "Oh! I'm sorry about yesterday! Both the hallway and at the cafe!" He'd make a note though to visit it another time if he needed to get away from school.

Ruka's eyes widened as he apologized to her. No one has ever truly apologized to her for anything. It was always just people trying to play off their stupid antics as if they were accidents. She was quiet for a moment, unsure of how to reply to him. A tint of pink flushed her face as she clenched the straps of her bag as she stuttered, "I-I'm...sorry too...for y-yelling at you..." Ruka didn't look him straight in the eye as she apologized, but she did give him a small bow as she did so. Her mouth was in a straight line and her eyes looking at everything except him. She wasn't used to this at all. Talking to someone at school let a lone apologizing to someone at school.

Ruka slowly moved out of the door and closer to the boy but she still kept her distance in case he tried anything. "Why did you...come to the cafe yesterday?" the girl asked curiously, still avoiding his gaze. Did he find out she worked there? No, that was impossible. She was sure to cover any signs of her working there. Was he there just by coincidence? That was probably the more plausible answer. Hopefully he wouldn't come back though since that would be embarrassing. He already saw her in one of her most vulnerable moments and she didn't want him returning especially since he could request her to serve him.

Akira breathed a sigh of relief and straightened himself not that it was over, although her apologizing was a bit surprising. She came out a bit from the door but was still pretty far away. He figured her shyness was getting to her. The question about why he was there however, he was pretty sure he answered. "I said so yesterday remember? I was dodging the track team. That place just happened to be the one I popped into. Gotta say, those were some crazy odds. Is there... Something wrong?" he asked, stepping closer towards her cone of vision.

Ruka nodded her head as Akira explained what had happened yesterday. Oh, so that's why he popped in there. As he stepped closer to her, Ruka slammed her foot down while she raised her voice a bit, "I'm fine. I'm just not used to talking to people in school. Why do you think people call me the Silent Princess?" she gave him a side glance, the blush deepening on her face. She turned on her heel, ready to leave before saying, "I'm leaving now!" and with that she slammed the metal door behind her, leaving him with his thoughts. She rushed herself downstairs, uneasy from talking to him. Exiting the school, Ruka started to walk towards the maid cafe to start work.

The princess exclaimed she didn't talk much at school, reasoning that was why she was called the silent princess. While everyone knew her by that name, even Akira couldn't remember her actual name, he didn't think even she would justify it. Before he could reply however, she stomped off from the roof. He just sighed, knowing that chasing her would be a little pointless. He turned around to finally eat his lunch when the bell rang for next period. "Awww come on!!! I'm starving here!" he yelled to no one in particular except himself. He'd just have to eat his lunch during the next lesson. Only two more and he'd be free to go. He picked up the box and rushed back into the school, trying to recall the entire experience with the silent princess, Ruka, who talks to no one at school. Yet, it seemed that wonder was broken now...

Again at the cafe, Ruka escorted guests to their tables. It was particularly slow, but that was probably because everyone was still at work or in school. Surprisingly and fortunately, no one from her school came here. If they did she probably wouldn't be able to work here anymore. "Please enjoy your stay!" Ruka chirped to the guests as she finished placing down their menus and made her way back to the door entrance.

As much as it seemed she disliked that boy, her mind always ended up racing back to him. She pondered about what she'd do if he did end up coming back? Did he want to be her friend? She's never had a real friend before, and out of all people, it would be the most popular guy in school. No no no, that could never happen. He was way out of her league in all aspects. They were from two different worlds and it was just pure coincidence that they had collided a bit. She highly doubted that he would come back to see her or try to get to know her more. He could get any girl in the school to be his and I'm sure that all the girls in the school wanted to. Ruka sighed as she shook the meaningless thoughts away. There was no point in fussing over it. She was positive that soon everything would go back to normal and she would remain an outcast of the school and beat her 16 year record of being alone.

Akira had to eat his lunch in the next class, which somehow caused a lot of commotion to the other students. He hadn't eaten in class before so they freaked out like some patient who heard 'oops' in the OR. Other than that he got through the rest of the day with no problems. After the last class he remembered he had to deal with at least one confession. He checked to see the usual, in front of the school after school. After switching out shoes, he approached the one girl who looked hyperactive, while everyone else was just watching with intent. "Akira! I... I... I Really like you, please go out with me!"

Like always, he had to reject her. She seemed perfectly fine but nothing really stood out that said 'date me'. "I'm sorry, I'm not interested in dating right now." The usual rejection. The girl seemed broken as most of them had, although he never meant to. They just kept thinking he'd finally accept some girl. Even the most talked about girls by the boys got rejected. Akira sprinted off before she could say anything else, or anyone else could try and take up his time. He didn't have work to worry about today, but he figured he'd get away somewhere no one else at school was at, and he could think of only one real place close by.

Ruka bowed gently as two male customers exited the cafe, chirping, "I await your return, masters!" Just as the two exited, more came in. School must have been released now. "Welcome home, masters!" Ruka sang as she brought them to a table. One of them called her pretty and she just smiled and nodded her head. As she walked away from their table, she heard someone call her over. She turned on her heel to see a man about mid twenties and waving his hand to motion her to come over. Ruka skipped over to him and with a tilt of her head asked, "Yes, master?" the man grinned as he began to place his order, occasionally staring at different areas of her body. Ruka smiled nervously, immediately leaving the man once his order was done. It was creepy people like him that made her regret working here. The pay was good and she had to admit that the attention was nice, but sometimes having to deal with people like that was just too much.
