Absently looking down at a few of his pokeballs, Kail mulled over his options, before releasing the Totodile he had just gone to retrieve. Unnerving purple eyes peered up at him, and he stared back, unfazed, looking the pokemon over. "Toto-toto-totodile!" the pokemon chattered, grinning up at him and hopping from foot to foot, its arms hanging limply in front of it. Definitely not a very sane-looking pokemon... but he was fairly sure it would come in handy. Certainly better than the other one he had, as far as typing went. This one, he knew about-- he had got some information from some of his contacts, tracked it. It might have been a bit of a loose cannon... but personally, Kail liked having a pokemon like that on his team, so long as he could control it. Just one, at least, one that would do whatever he said, one that didn't mind getting its hands dirty. Lelanna would, technically, obey him regardless of the morality of the act... but she didn't like to get her paws dirty.
Cyndaquil would argue, even disobey. All the other pokemon he had? Who knew. And he still had to get members of his team back from the Imperium, but who knows when he would be able to do that. For now, this was the guy he needed, and he fully planned to train him, too, once they got to a stronger area. Him, Mareepa, and Fennekin were his top priorities... but he would likely work with Conglomerate some as well.

As he examined the pokemon, Fennekin let himself out, and almost immediately, the Totodile leaped on him to attack. "Fin!" the pokemon yelped, rolling onto his back in surprise. He immediately opened his mouth, shooting embers at the water pokemon to knock him back, then leaping away, eyes wide. Totodile shook his head against the fire, but then grinned, eyes flashing sharply at the fire pokemon. Panicking, Fennekin snapped his eyes shut, concentrating, and sending a strong wave of heat at the pokemon. Kail threw his arm up, grimacing against the fringe edges of the attack that washed over him, but smirked when he lowered his arm.
Totodile was knocked out... and by a fire pokemon.

The sight.... was rather pitiful, but surprisingly, Kail seemed more amused by it than anything. After all, he had only just got Totodile-- the water type literally had no time to train, or anything. Fennekin, on the other hand, had been wandering around with him, moving on the train, and, in fact, had a rather powerful attack. Even halved against the water type, it was enough to take out what little HP totodile had. It was... expected,, almost, and admittedly rather funny. He would have to see if Cyndaquil could take it out the same way when she got back, even if he would likely be stronger by that time.
Returning Totodile, Kail looked at the Fennekin with a smirk, mulling something over. "You need a nickname..." he remarked. The pokemon blinked and looked up at him. "... I think Fritz fits you," he decided. Fennekin's ear twitched, and he tilted his head to the side, but seemed to accept the nickname. Fritz did seem kinda... right, even if... didn't that mean not working properly or something? Oh well. He was pretty sure Kail didn't mean it that way. Probably. Maybe?
The teen lifted his head to look up, exhaling a cloud of smoke as he withdrew his cigarette from his mouth. So then, that was Conglomerate, and Fritz, both nicknamed. Technically Flatface, too, but that was really more of a jibe than a nickname. He didn't feel much like trying to nickname the others... but he'd probably get to it. After all, not even Cyndaquil had a nickname. It wasn't always a sure fire, immediate thing with him. It just.... happened, randomly, or possibly not at all.

TKail glanced down at the Fennekin looking back up at him,pulling his thoughts back to the present. He really wanted to start training, but he also wanted to get Lelanna and Cyndaquil back from the Day Care at some point. Probably not too soon, not until his pokemon had been trained up a little, so that Lelanna's head wouldn't get too big, but soon. Maybe he'd just pull Cyndaquil, actually...
But for now, he needed to find a way to start training, and before he could really do that, Apollo needed to get his pokemon. After that... they would need to... figure out where to go. Kail grimaced at the idea. This is why he hated traveling with people; he had to listen to what they wanted and compromise. It wasn't that he was entirely selfish... but he hated the inconvenience of it.
Luckily, he didn't have a very clear idea of where he wanted to go after this, so it would likely (hopefully) be a smooth conversation when it had to be discussed. In the meantime, he went to find someone to help him heal up his pokemon, and make sure they were all in proper fighting condition, just in case.

It didn't take him too long before Kail found someone to help him heal Totodile after his little spat with Fritz. The Fennekin had decided to stay out of his pokeball, trotting along at Kail's heal and looking curiously around while his trainer tended to the pokemon that had attacked him. Fritz had decided he wouldn't hold it against the water type-- no wait, yes he would. He would 100% hold it against him, in that he would always try and stay at least one level against him, so that he could at least maybe hold his own against the water type.
'Don't worry~! I'll protect yoouu~!!' Lilligant chimed. "Fin!" 'Ah!' Fritz jumped, leaping to the side and looking with wide eyes at Lilligant, who had quite literally appeared from nowhere. How long had she been there!?! He literally had no idea she was even out of her pokeball, let alone aware of the recent events with Kail's newest pokemon. 'Sorry~! I didn't mean to frighten you!' she cooed, looking at him with wide eyes, petal-limbs held up to cover her mouth. He had a feeling she was... still swooning over how... 'cute' he was. 'I-it's fine...' he muttered, left ear twitching a bit. He could see her eyes sparkle, and immediately drooped his ears in response. 'Uh, when did you--'
"Oi!" Both pokemon looked up at their trainer's sharp voice as Kail approached, a sneer on his face. "When did you let yourself out, Lilligant? I know I didn't release you." Lilligant pouted up at their trainer. 'D'awwww....' Fritz watched as she made her eyes big and watery, but Kail stared bluntly back, lifting up her empty pokeball. "Get back in," he ordered, snapping it open, and returning the grass type.
Fritz blinked, glancing up at Kail, saying nothing. "Come on, Fritz. Let's go see if that moron has got his pokemon yet," Kail muttered, lighting up another cigarette, and turning to start off across town.

After looking around, Kail found himself growing increasingly irritated. He couldn't find the blond anywhere, and it wasn't until he had searched nearly the whole damn town that he came up with the idea that the idiot had already moved on. The Professor's lab... it could be accessed from one of the other towns or something.
Shaking his head in irritation, he turned sharply, deciding to move on as well. Either he would find Apollo, or he wouldn't. Honestly, losing him wouldn't be that tragic an event. It might even be a blessing; it wasn't as though he'd wanted to travel together in the first place. And, at the very least, he could get some training done while he looked.

Arriving at Twinleaf, Kail made his way over towards the train station, adjusting his gloves and letting Oshawott trail behind him. The little water pokemon tucked its shell back onto its stomach, watching its trainer with a mix of anger, hurt, and uncertainty. What did it take to phase this guy? He kind of wanted to attack him, at this point... but, bah, that woul dprobably just get him more play time with the totodile... or mareepa. Not that the sheep pokemon was mean, she was just... electric... and playful. She'd probably end up shocking him like she had with Kail. And now with her brother in the midst...
Oshawott eyed Kail as he made the purchase, wondering if he even knew the two pokemon were related. He didn't seem to care enough to find out. That poor mareep was probably going to stay in his pokeball until his sister forced him out, or he was able to break free... Oshawott shook his head. What a mess...

With the ticket bought, and still completely ignoring Oshawott, Kail made his way to the pokelab, where he could pick up his Treecko. He was pretty sure he'd put one in storage, so he might as well grab it for Cyrus. Hopefully the guy would be at the festival by the time he got there... He didn't really feel like trying to chase him down...

After that was taken care of Kail made his way back to the train, Oshawott panting and running along behind him, trying to keep up with his long stride. After battling the totodile, he wasn't exactly feeling in tip top shape, and he was almost certain Kail was trying to out walk him-- even if his trainer didn't even spare a glance back at him.
Kail threw the cigarette away and got on the train, letting Mareepa out as well and reclining back to look out the window, exhaling the last of the smoke in his lungs. This was probably going to be a long ride... but hopefully he would get there fast enough that he wouldn't have to sleep as soon as he arrived...

"Ta-na-ba...ta?" Alex stepped off the train, thoroughly confused. Small houses, rolling hills...barely any people. "I thought it would be cooler than this..." Roxy finally squirmed from his arms and ran away. Presumably to find something to set on fire.
Alex glanced at the train board. "Haha, why would there be a train to Tanabata from Tana-oh." It suddenly dawned on him that he wasn't at the right place at all. He looked down, and found that Chica didn't look nearly as guilty as she stood.
Alex dropped Patches on a bench to wait while he ran out to find Roxy. Chica zipped her way up to his shoulder to watch, leaning forward as if on the prow of a boat. Alex didn't get more than two steps outside before he came upon Roxy picking a fight with a bird pokemon. One more step, and she'd knocked it out by slapping it with her arm. "Oh cool! Another pokemon!" Alex threw a pokeball at the Starly while Roxy stood in place, firing off bursts of flames into the air in a show of dominance.
