Yuki left the Pokémon Center and looked around, despite being the morning, the streets already had a few people walking around. He didn't want to get lost, but he still wasn't used to such a large city. With that in mind, he reached into his pocket and took out his PokeNav. Switching to the mode with a map function, he tried his best to determine the best way to move onto the next town. Yuki was pretty sure about where he was going now as he started to walk down the street. He wasn't in that much of a hurry and wouldn't use his pokemon unless something came up. Even though he was using a map, the young trainer found himself hopelessly lost. Yuki wandered around Jubilife City and after about an hour of searching, he needed a break. He eventually came across a bench that was on a sidewalk next to a truck that was parked. The trainer didn't care where it was, just that it was there as he sat down and let out a slight sigh.

Yuki was annoyed that he had managed to get himself lost, but he was more than happy to have found a bench to take a break on. As he waited for his legs to feel up to walking more, his attention turned toward the truck that was parked nearby on the street. He was curious to know about it, it looked a lot more beat up than any others in Jubilife City. Perhaps it wasn't from this region or maybe it was just well used. That didn't really much to him as his eyes looked toward the back of it. It was a simple truck that looked like it was used for deliveries and had a tarp in the back, most likely to protect the payload. Surprisingly, the truck wasn't too interesting as it only caused Yuki to let out another sigh. A few more minutes passed by and Yuki was about to resume his search to find his way out of the city. That, however was stopped when he heard a rustling under the tarp in the truck.

He wasn't expecting something like this, so his attention once more focused on the truck. A small figure emerged from under the tarp and appeared to be a pokemon, one that Yuki had never seen before. The pokemon stretched and yawned big before walking forward toward the back end of the truck. It seemed to be half asleep, but jumped down onto the ground and looked around. Yuki was surprised to see this pokemon just climb out of the back of the truck. He wasn't sure, but it appeared to be lost as the pokemon was clearly confused about where exactly it was.Despite that, the pokemon started to walk away, passing by the bench that Yuki was sitting on. There was no way he could miss this chance as he reached into his pocket to grab his pokedex. Yuki opened it and aimed it toward the small pokemon walking by in front of him. "Axew, the Tusk Pokémon. Axew marks its territory by making scratch marks on trees with its tusks, which regrow if they fall out" The robotic sounding male voice spoke as it really was a pokemon. Yuki read over the information and blinked a few times as this wasn't a pokemon from Sinnoh. "From Unova?" He questioned as he wondered how an Axew managed to find itself in Jubilife City.

His first thought was to help this pokemon as he called out to the Axew. "H-Hey, wait. Can you come back here for a second." The small pokemon stopped walking and blinked before looking back toward Yuki. Surprisingly, the pokemon wasn't shocked or anything and walked back in front of Yuki and looked up at the boy.["What is it?"]The pokemon said curiously as it was clear that this Axew was used to people. "What are you doing here? This is Sinnoh, not Unova." Axew looked toward Yuki with its head to the side as it seemed to at least understand that.["Oh, that explains things... must have fallen asleep."]Despite realizing what had happened, the pokemon didn't seem to be too worried, so Yuki decided to ask more questions. "So, looks like we're both lost. Do you have a trainer?" The pokemon shook its head no. "Do you know what you're going to do now?" Once again, the answer was no as the Axew shrugged at the question. "Oh, I see. Um... are you hungry by chance? If you were sleeping in the back of that truck, you probably didn't have anything to eat. I have some pokemon food." The pokemon again, denied that it was hungry, but as soon as the Axew's stomach growled, it was clear that the pokemon was hungry.["Guess I am..."]Axew embarrassingly reply as it scratched the side of its head. Yuki laughed weakly before he searched through his back and produced some pokemon food which he put onto the bench next to him, before picking the Axew up and placing it on the bench next to him. "I know we just met and all, but I am a pokemon trainer. You don't have a trainer and I'm pretty new to this whole thing, but I think it'd be fun to travel with an interesting pokemon like you." Yuki said while watching the pokemon devour the food that he had put down for it. Axew was clearly happy to have some food and it looked toward Yuki while still eating.["Hmm... travel with you?... that might be a good idea... this food is pretty good too."]The pokemon said with a slight nod as it seemed like Yuki was a good trainer to help it out without trying to throw a pokeball sneakily. This might be fun.

Yuki was happy that it appeared as though Axew was going to join him on his journey. This wasn't exactly the way he thought he'd be catching pokemon, but he had to admit that it was a lot more fun this way. Befriending them was all he had really known, though he wasn't against battling them first. In that way, it at least gave the pokemon a chance to battle to stay wild. Yuki decided to wait and let Axew finish the food that was given to him. Axew seemed to be enjoying himself as it only took a few more moments for the pokemon to finish it all. The pokemon let out a sigh in relief as he had really been a lot hungrier than expected. His head turned toward Yuki as he nodded again before speaking up.["Alright, I'll let you catch me, but it feels like I'm forgetting something..."]Axew seemed to be thinking quite hard, when his eyes opened a little wide.["Oh right."]Yuki watched on, blinking a few times as the small pokemon jumped down to the ground. Axew hurried back to the truck and climbed into the back again. After a few moments passed, the pokemon jumped back down and hurried back over to Yuki. The pokemon had what looked like a heart shaped scale the glowed faintly in the colors of the rainbow in his hands. "Oh, looks like you found something interesting there, Axew."

Axew had found the heart shaped scale while on its own and decided to take it with him since it was interesting. Either way, he held it out for Yuki to take from him, perhaps as payment of some kind for the food. Yuki didn't mind giving Axew food for nothing, but since it was a pokemon offering, of course he'd play by its rules. "Thanks, though if we're travelling together, then I'll just put it in my bag, might be able to use this in the future." Yuki spoke before taking the scale and putting it away in his bag. While he did so, he grabbed an empty pokeball and smiled down at Axew as he placed it on the ground new to the pokemon. "If you really do want to join me on the journey, then I'll let you decide... oh right, my name is Yuki, it's nice to meet you, Axew." He laughed weakly as he felt a little bad about not introducing himself earlier. Axew nodded a bit and looked toward the pokeball, thinking about what he would do.["It's nice to meet you too... I think it will be fun."]He said happily as it was a new and exciting idea to travel with a trainer.

Now that Axew had made his mind up on becoming Yuki's pokemon all he needed to do was get caught. His attention turned toward Yuki and then back to the pokeball. He had always been curious as to what it would be like to follow a trainer. Even though he had just met Yuki recently, he felt like they had known each other for a long time.["Might as well get this over with."]The small dragon pokemon said before reaching out his claw and touching the pokeball. Axew was a little surprised as he glow red for a moment before disappearing into the pokeball. Yuki smiled a bit as he was glad to have a pokemon like Axew in his party. "I look forward to working with you, Axew." As the pokeball stopped shaking, it was official, Yuki had his newest pokemon, an Axew. He picked the ball off the ground and attached it to his belt next to the four others, now he only needed one more pokemon to have his sixth.

Yuki was refreshed now after taking a break. He hadn't expected to catch a new pokemon while doing so. The trainer picked his bag off the bench and put it back on over his shoulders. Now, it was back to work, trying to find his way out of Jubilife City. He let out a slight sigh as it felt like he would need some extra help with that task. With that thought in mind, he reached for his belt and grabbed the pokeball that contained Houndour. "Come on out, Houndour." Yuki let Houndour out of his pokeball and smiled a bit as he appeared in front of him. "Welcome back, I need your help getting out of this city, you think you can help?" He asked, hoping that Houndour could use his nose to help find the way out of the concrete jungle. Houndour was happy to be outside again and was pleased that Yuki wanted his help.["Of course, I'll just lead us to fresh air and we should be out of this place."]Houndour said before sniffing the air and then starting to walk in the direction he thought was the correct way.

Yuki followed quickly after Houndour as it seemed as though the pokemon had found the way out of the city. At the moment, this was the best way to move onto Oreburgh City. Yuki trusted his pokemon and wanted to get their help as much as possible. If not for them, he'd never have gotten so far, he wanted to do the best he could as a trainer. Of course he'd make sure to take care of them to the best of his abilities. Yuki had spent a lot of time around pokemon while growing up, so they were more like friends to him than his pokemon. Candice had showed him how people should treat pokemon and there was no way he could let her down. Surprisingly, following Houndour was better than using his PokeNax as the pair managed to find the exit to the city. "Great job, Houndour, you found the exit, finally, we can move forward." Yuki was clearly happy to have Houndour helping and would remember his talents for the future.["It was easy for me, don't worry about it."]Houndour replied as he slowed to a walk and headed toward the city limits with his trainer.

Yuki continued forward with Houndour and quickly they found themselves out of Jubilife City. It took longer than he had expected to make it to Route 203, but that was what made the journey interesting. Normally he wouldn't travel very far from his hometown, so the idea of going anywhere was already different. Yuki was just not used to big cities and that made him want to move on as soon as possible. Jubilife was the biggest city in Sinnoh, so the next one was probably going to suit him a little more. Either way, he was just happy to be travelling to his next destination. As he walked, he brought his PokeNav back out and tried his best to follow the directions to Oreburgh City. This would be his first gym battle, but he really felt like he needed a little more training with his pokemon first. Yuki actually felt like battling another trainer might just be the best option before taking on a gym leader.

Passing into Jubilife, Kail checked his communication devices, confirming he had no messages before putting them away. After a quick stop in the mart, he headed towards the outskirts of town, making sure his pokemon were all healed and back to full health with Fritz trailing behind. He had to admit, he was coming to appreciate the little fire pokemon. Almost enough that he wondered if he should have got it for a starter instead. But, he already had cyndaquil... doing that would have been just as useless, from a starting perspective, as getting this oshawott. Even more so, because he hadn't originally thought he'd be getting his totodile before pulling cyndaquil from the day care.
Still, as a back up fire pokemon, the fennekin was a good choice. It's final evolution was a dual psychic type, which would likely come in handy. Besides, if he'd chosen it as his starter pokemon, it wouldn't be so... uniquely colored. And Fritz seemed to have a good personality-- obedient, but capable of defending himself-- so that was another bonus. At some point, though, he really would need to pull Lelanna and Cyndaquil from the Day Care... he just hoped they had stayed on top of their training while they were there...

Before he could quite make it out of town, a piece of paper suddenly fluttered through the air, and promptly attacked him by latching onto his face. He lurched back, grimacing and reaching up to rip it away, scowling down, and then narrowing one eye. Some sort of... festival? Wait... yeah, he'd heard of this before. Actually, he'd been to one before, though it hadn't been for his own enjoyment. If he remembered right, there were games and prizes and stuff... not really his thing, but what did interest him was the amount of items they had there. Some could actually be pretty damn useful.
He paused a moment, looking down at the paper with a skeptical but thoughtful expression. Pulled from his contemplation at the alert of his pokegear, he lowered the paper, pulling up the device and raising an eyebrow when he saw who the message was from. How convenient... He would have to go by a pokecenter to get that Treecko at some point soon, then. 'It's still on. Where are we meeting? There's a festival you might be interested in going on-- rare items, lots of people, plenty of things to steal. I'm heading towards a train station now-- so you better reply fast' he responded, tucking both the paper and his pokegear away before turning.
Fritz looked up, blinking in surprise as his trainer promptly spun in his heal and strode back the exact way they'd come from. Apparently, plans had changed...
