Julie was a little wobbly at first -- she had never ridden an equestrian pokemon, or any pokemon at all, before -- but she started to get the hang of it, and by the time they were entering the cave, she was moving with Tria's gate. The rapidash seemed calm, very relaxed, aware of her surroundings but not hyper attentive. Torin followed along behind the whole time, eying the group, with Chico at his heels. The grass starter seemed.... anxious, though he couldn't tell if it was for Julie's safety, or the idea that he might already be getting replaced by this new pokemon. Reaching down, he tapped the pokemon's head briefly to get its attention, and Chico looked up. He gave him a look, raising an eyebrow and tilting his head, before looking forward again, which was enough to confuse the pokemon into second guessing whatever he was thinking, and trail a little further behind, caught up in his thoughts, rather than his concern.
The darkness of the cave was lifted remarkably by Tria's flames, though the light flickered and danced against the uneven walls to cast obscure shadows. "You said she was supposed to train in here?" Torin remarked, sounding skeptical as he looked around.

Karren turned her head enough to look back at him, and he shifted. He hadn't been trying to sound skeptical or critical, but.... that might have been how it came off. Or, maybe she was just being creepy; again, he didn't know her that well. Just... vaguely familiar. Friend of a friend level. "... Yes," she replied simply, turning back to Julie. She offered the girl a smile. "Julie, may I take you off? Tria will need to be able to move in order to train," she explained, gently lacing her fingers together in front of her. Julie beamed, turning and holding her hands out. "Okay!" she complied, "But they don' have to battle! I just wanna check the cave out!" Karren tilted her head as she let the girl down, looking at her curious. "They wont' really get stronger if they don't, Lemon," Torin piped up, absently rubbing the back of his neck.
"That's okay~!" the young girl chimed, holding her arms aloft as she skipped on ahead. Torin smiled a bit. She was going to be a terrible trainer.... at least, when it came to being competitive. But she'd probably be a good trainer when it came to treating and caring for her pokemon.

Karren, Torin, and the pokemon followed along as Julie wandered along up ahead. Her older brother rolled his shoulders, looking around absently, dull eyes sweeping the flickering walls. Bringing his gaze down to Chico, he nudged the pokemon slightly, then gave a nod as Julie trooped off down a side path. "Stay close to her," he urged. The pokemon nodded, then bounded off, disappearing with Julie, while he and Karren followed at a more relaxed pace. Tria kept the middle ground. "Hey," Torin started, turning slightly towards Karren, his gaze delaying a moment before sweeping over to her as well, "Have you heard from--" He stopped and his attention snapped over as sparks of sharp, electric light flashed against the cave wall from around the corner, and he immediately took off, slipping past Tria to sprint ahead and find Julie.

Torin's concern was only somewhat reasonable, but not really necessary. Julie had slowed when she heard the faint sounds of pokemon, then hurried ahead. Her eyes widened as she noticed a small, slumped, fluffy form on the ground, and another similar-looking pokemon standing over it, staring defiantly at wild pokemon, electricity jumping around it's woolly coat. Her mouth dropped open, before she hurried ahead, Chico worriedly following beside her. As she approached, however, the conscious pokemon whipped around, bleating at her, and sending a spark her way. She shrieked and jumped back, but frowned at the pokemon, waving her hands at him with her arms stretched out. "I'm not gonna hurt you!" she tried to assure, and Chico leaped forward, chiming in on his own, and standing protectively in front of his trainer. The pokemon glared at them, but turned as two zubat clamored about and swept forward, sending electric shocks at them again to keep them at bay. Just as Torin swept in, Tria galloped past, immediately sweeping in and brandishing her horn, swiping at two, before turning and kicking at the others with purple-covered hooves. She landed and turned, bringing a furious gaze at the wild pokemon, who, after a moment of hesitation, fled.

The rapidash turned to the electric pokemon that had been fending them off, giving a warning, low knicker as she towered over him. Julie quickly hurried to the unconscious pokemon on the ground, turning to Torin with a pout. "Tey it's hurt," she worried, and her brother tore his gaze from the two pokemon facing off to look down. "... It probably needs a potion or something. But Julie, if it attacks--" he warned. "It's fine, Torry!" she insisted, moving to tug at his bag, and start shifting through it. He rolled his eyes, but brought it around, still watching the conscious wild pokemon. Tria seemed to have him pinned into a stare down-- she must have warned him not to move, or something, and he was weighing whether he could battle her or not. Taking advantage of the distraction to move fast, he handed Julie a potion, and moved with her to the other pokemon, ready to grab her and pull her away if it attacked.

After she applied the potion, however, it opened its eyes, blinked, and then popped up. Giving a happy bleat, the pokemon -- which Torin was starting to identify as a mareep -- bounded over and gave Julie a lick on the face, causing the girl to burst out in a laugh and hug the pokemon. That was enough to immediately catch it's companion's attention, and the other electric type looked over, puffing up protectively. Tria gave a sound of warning, but turned, moving over to Julie's side. Torin relaxed, but he and Chico kept a close eye on the other pokemon as it stared. Looking at the two, it seemed one of them -- the one that Julie was cuddling -- was... shiny? Was that the word? It looked different from your typical sheep pokemon. The blond shifted to sit down properly, reclining back on a hand, and staring at it. ".... You might be able to catch that one, Julie," he remarked, looking to the girl, finally. "It seems to like you." Julie blinked, pushing the mareep away a bit to look over at her brother, and the pokemon instead occupied itself by nibbling at her clothes in various places, as if to taste them as well. "You think so?" she asked, then looked at the pokemon with a beaming smile, "You wanna come with me?" When the pokemon gave a cheerful cry in response, Torin handed Julie a pokeball, which the girl presented to the special mareep.

Without a thought, it booped its nose against the pokeball, and was promptly absorbed in. With a belligerent shout, the other mareep charged forward, but Tria immediately stepped forward, over Julie, her flames arching up to scorch the top of the cave, eyes staring dangerously down at the electric pokemon, who halted. He stared up at her, fear mixed with anger, and Julie gazed up at her pokemon above her. She blinked, then looked over at at the free mareep. "Um... You can come too...." she offered uncertainly. Torin raised an eyebrow, but produced a pokeball for the pokemon, who stared hatefully at the one his companion had just been caught by. Grimacing, and looking like a righteous man accepting a deal from the devil, he turned, headbutting the pokeball, and allowing himself to be absorbed within. Well.... two for one, then?

With both pokemon caught, Tria backed up, huffing a bit and shaking her head. She hadn't been that worked up in a while. Julie glanced back at her, but then turned, beaming, back to Torin as they both got to their feet. "Hey Tey! D'you think I could let the pokemon out?" she asked excitedly, clutching the pokeball in her hands. Her older brother furrowed his brow slightly, loosely holding the other in one of his hands by his side. "I dunno, Lemon. The other one was pretty aggressive," he remarked warily. She pouted. "But Tooorrrryyy.... I'll be careful, promise! And if he doesn't calm down ya can just return 'em!" she pointed out, breaking out into an optimistic smile. He sighed and rolled his eyes, but tossed the pokeball up, releasing the mareep. Julie giggled and hopped, before turning, holding her pokeball out in front of her, and pressing the button to release her new friend.

Both mareeps appeared, the white one shaking her head, and then bleating happily as she pranced over to Julie, and licked her face again. The little girl laughed, hugging the pokemon, but then smiling to the other one, and holding out a hand. It stared a moment, then seemed to begrudgingly concede, moving over, and moving his head slightly close to her hand. She stretched out to lightly touch his face, beaming, before turning her focus back to the other one. Torin stepped back, but kept a close watch, with Tria nearby doing the same. Karren loosely crossed her arms and stood beside him, but her gaze was more observational. "She seems to be rather good with pokemon," she remarked, looking between the three. Torin shrugged. "Yeah, but aren't most kids? Not like they're as much of a threat to them or anything," he pointed out, unaware of the murderous nine year old that lay lurking in some other region, thirsting for dragon-type blood. He turned to glance at her. "Just how long are you planning on sticking around, anyway...?" he asked, giving her a once over, before lifting to meet her gaze again.

Karren turned her head just slightly, looking at him with an observant, reading, but otherwise empty expression. ".... Soon," she replied simply, looking back to Julie and the pokemon. There was a beat of silence, before she added, "Perhaps you should focus more on figuring out where the first gym is, and where you two will be going..." He blinked, frowning as she moved over to talk to the girl, kneeling down to do so, and speaking in a low voice he couldn't quite hear. What was that comment on? His trying to get rid of her? Not that he was, per se, but... Or was she trying to make a jab at whatever she thought was on his mind? He frowned. Maybe she was just trying to critique his priorities in general.
Rolling his eyes, he looked away, eying the entrance. He really wanted a smoke right now... Looking back, he shook his head, before rolling his shoulders and walking over to the girls. "C'mon, Lemon," he urged, lightly patting the girl's shoulder to get her attention, before continuing his stride, "We should get moving. If you're not training, we should at least keep looking for a place that's safe enough where you can." She blinked, looking up from the white sheep, who's wool she'd been having a delight with, but grinned and jumped up. "C'mon Mareepa!" she urged, turning and running. The pokemon bleated happily, jumping up with a little flail of her legs, before scampering after the girl. Her brother watched warily, but took up a steady trot to follow after, eyes narrowed and determined not to watch either. Karren lingered behind a moment, before sighing, and moving after the group. It seemed Tria had her work cut out for her....

Ajicka could hear ZK make a growl that was probably a little more animalistic than he had intended as they landed. These things were still falling, and on their way back to Johto, she was able to track another's descent. "Another cave?" he muttered, arms folded over his chest. For some reason, Ajicka bothered to glance back at him, and he noticed her eyes narrow slightly as they did. Not in an annoyed manner, like he'd expect, but as though she noticed something. He stiffened, his nose lifting indignantly, expecting some sharp remark, or chastising comment, but she turned away, and kept walking. And surprisingly, when she did speak up, it was to respond to his comment as though nothing had happened.
"They're falling everywhere, moron. But these are harder to get to, so there's a better chance of us getting to it first. Besides, it was the closest to where we were flying," she stated flatly, walking towards the entrance of the cave. She wanted to take a look around inside. See if she could find the star herself. After all, it had.... been a while since she was in here....

Ajicka shook her head. No, not here... the cave in Kanto. The tunnel in Kanto. She looked around at the walls, staying focused on her task, but.... separated. She took in every detail, but as she did, it was almost like looking at several walls, several rocky surfaces layered on top of one another. She'd been in so many caves. She'd first encountered Deoxys in a cave, not that she really.... realized it, at the time. She encountered that guy, what was his name? And got stuck in a cavern together. She'd probably walked through countless more in all her travels, and they were starting to become a source of weird familiarity.
Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes, before snapping them open to look ahead into the darkness. She wanted to find that wishing star, and move on. She couldn't exactly do a lot of reading in the dark like this, and she obviously had a lot to catch up on.

The sound of her footsteps echoed off the dark, damp walls of the cave. It wasn't as cold or wet as the icy cave before had been, but her eyes scanned the area, picking up faint, softer forms of moss against the wall in the dark. "Do you even know where it landed?" she heard ZK mutter behind her. Jas had probably stayed at the entrance, but apparently, her dear companion had decided to actually follow her all the way in. "You know, this could be a good chance to train your pokemon," Ajicka replied instead, staring straight ahead, "There are probably pokemon around here." She heard ZK grunt in response, but was almost surprised to actually hear what sounded like him shuffling around. Maybe looking for a pokeball? Perhaps he was considering her advice. Her eyes narrow when she noticed a faint bit of light up ahead. White light, near the ceiling, faint and shadowed by the walls closing in around it. Below it, though, a purple glow softly draped the rocks, giving them an unearthly hue. "Found it," she muttered.

Picking up the object, she tried to examine it in the dull light above, and the fading, purplish hue it gave off. It was definitely the same item. It was so weird, though.... Pocketing it, Ajicka turned and strode back for the cave entrance, ignoring the grimacing sigh from ZK as he spun around to follow her. Hopefully whatever consideration he'd had for training, would hold on to the next location. She wanted to hunt down more of these things, and see if she could learn about them on the way. There had to be some sort of use for them...

What was with all the caves? It was a surprise to Lafayette that these fragments, which he had a sneaking suspicion (given the name) should’ve come from the sky, had found their way into numerous caves. Were pokemon responsible for that? Was it the shininess? Maybe it was the shininess.
Admittedly, if he was a pokemon, Lafayette would’ve had the attention span that made shiny things a point of interest. Shameful to admit, but an honest assessment. Fortunately, he wasn’t a pokemon; which really meant nothing in the grand scheme of things. Even as a human he was out here, chasing down shiny things. Was that sad? It was probably sad.
