✦ ✦Aiden felt his confidence rising as Daguerro unleashed his Thunder attack, effectively finishing off the Scyther for good. The Jolteon was slowly but surely regaining the strength he used to have, and it felt good to have his old friend here to battle by his side once again. Dag grinned widely as Blaze praised him for his effort, bouncing happily on his paws as he performed a little victory jig.” Haha, yeah! We make one hell of a team, huh?”he cheered, smiling as Blaze even did a little celebratory fist pump. His Quilava partner seemed like a pretty tough gal, and he felt that once this battle was over, they should get to know each other some more. He hadn’t gotten much of a chance to meet with other Pokemon outside of his own teammates, but there was never a missed opportunity to start, right? Aiden watched as King returned his fainted Scyther, the man not seeming the least bit disappointed that the Bug-type had been defeated so quickly. At least, that was what it seemed like, it was rather hard to tell since the mask was covering his face. King commended their efforts, saying that he had a feeling they would have targeted Scyther first since he had been such a large target. He commented that the two of them might be more used to each other than he had initially thought with their attack coordination, though he seemed to mull over just how long they could keep it up as he sent out another Pokemon in place of his Scyther, a Meditite at that. Much to Daguerro and Blaze’s dismay, their little victory moment would soon be cut short. Next thing he knew, the Jolteon found himself being double-teamed by both the Froslass and the Meditite that King had recently sent out on the battlefield. He grimaced as he once again felt the Ghost-type’s ice cold fist ram into him, grunting softly as he tried to shake off the effects of the freeze that had started settling upon him. Just as he managed to resist being frozen, the Meditite slammed into his side with an overwhelmingly powerful Zen Headbutt. The blow lifted Dag clear off his paws, sending the Jolteon flying back through the air before landing on the ground near Aiden with an audible ‘THUD’ sound, the Electric-type knocked down for the count. ” Dag!” the blonde-haired boy cried out, worry darkening his face and eyes growing watery as he ran to his Jolteon’s side, ” Dag, are you alright? Please, say something!” Flashbacks flew across his mind as he gently slid his hands underneath Dag’s body, gruesome, terrifying images of the Jolteon’s bloody and mangled corpse appearing before his eyes as he lifted the spiky-furred Pokemon into his arms. Seeing Dag so brutally double-teamed and taken down like that… it made Aiden’s heart ache deeply, as if he had lost his beloved Jolteon a second time. Slowly, Daguerro’s eyes slid open as he managed to recover somewhat from that brutal knockout blow, the Jolteon gazing up at his trainer’s worried face and managing to move a paw to rest on Aiden’s arm.” Ugh… damn…”he groaned, wincing at the pain he was feeling in his ribs,” I didn’t like that at all…”A wave of relief swept over Aiden, the boy giving a soft, sad chuckle as he gently hugged the Jolteon close to him. ” Oh Dag… I almost thought that…” he said quietly, quickly swallowing the rest of his words before they could even make it to his lips. He was just glad to see that Dag was still alive and well, though the Jolteon was definitely going to need a good treatment at the Pokemon Center once they got to Azalea. Daguerro frowned slightly when he sensed his trainer’s distress, but gave a small smile as he nuzzled against Aiden in return.” Hey, c’mon now, I’m still here~”he yipped lightly, trying to remain cheerful and optimistic for his trainer’s sake,” Takes a lot more than that to put me down, you know that better than anyone, Aiden!”Aiden gave a soft smile at that, even as beaten as he was, Dag’s tenacious spirit never wavered or cracked… He felt a light hand on his shoulder, and looked over to see Aria at his side, the Delphox’s reassuring smile seeming to contradict the deep worry that her gaze held as she met his. She had sensed the bits and pieces of memory that had flashed across Aiden’s mind in that one instant when he saw Daguerro go down, just like when she had sensed the slight memories of his mother when they had been reunited at the Halloween Ball. Aria wasn’t entirely certain of what these small tidbits meant, but she could sense that Aiden had truly suffered quite a bit in his past experiences. The blonde-haired boy smiled weakly, nodding towards her. ” I’ll be fine for now, Aria,” he sent to her in an attempt to reassure her, knowing how the Delphox worried for him much like any motherly figure would. She didn’t seem completely convinced, but she gave a nod of understanding and withdrew her hand. Right now, there was a battle to focus on… Taking a deep breath to collect himself, Aiden turned back towards King as he clapped, commenting on how he had hoped to conduct two separate battles initially, but he had been forced to retaliate because they had ‘victimized’ his Pokemon. The blonde-haired boy narrowed his eyes at this, his expression becoming serious as he glared towards King. ” There’s a difference between victimizing and strategizing, you know,” he stated calmly and evenly, ” Since it seems your Pokemon have the upper hand in terms of speed and strength, it would only make sense for us to combine our attacks against them, would it not?” Fey reiterated similarly as she snapped at King, telling him to look up strategy sometime since he clearly didn’t understand the difference between that and ‘victimizing’ someone’s Pokemon. Still, King kept trying to taunt them as he threatened Blaze’s safety, but Fey was unphased as she simply told him to bring it on as she gave a mock bow towards the man. On the other hand, Blaze was caught off guard by how quickly Dag had been taken down, and wasted no time in setting her sights on the Meditite that had delivered the finishing blow. Without even waiting for a command, the Quilava growled angrily at the Fighting-type as she unleashed another strong blast of fire towards it before Fey could stop her. Still, it was clear that the Meditite was a considerable threat, their best bet would be to take it out as quickly as possible. However, if King was trying to knock at least one of their selected teams out completely, then it seemed Aiden had been chosen as the man’s victim. Well, two could play at that game… Under any other circumstances, Aiden’s thoughts would have been to send out Aria next since she had some powerful attacks in her arsenal and had an advantage over the Meditite with Shadow Ball. However, that Fighting-type was mighty strong, and Aiden couldn’t risk her getting double-teamed and knocked out instantly like Dag. If anything, he could at least try to cripple it and slow it down, since he had a feeling that the Meditite could potentially demolish both his and Fey’s teams if they didn’t knock it out quickly. Froslass could wait for now, taking out that Meditite was first priority as of this moment. Reaching for another Pokeball on his belt, Aiden grasped onto it and tossed it out onto the field. " You're up next, Samoa!" he called out, the ball popping open as the Croconaw appeared in a flash of light. Samoa cracked his neck and rolled his shoulders, it had been some time since he had been let out of his ball and it felt good to get some action going. The Croconaw crossed his arms over his chest as he sized up their opponents, a Meditite and a Froslass, then glanced over towards his Quilava partner and nodded towards her." So what's the plan?"he asked as he turned to face their opponents, prepared to take whatever they could throw at him. Their opponents looked pretty tough, especially if they were able to knock Dag down and out so quickly after the battle had just started...✦ ✦

Natalia watched the scene before her unfold with a distant look in her eyes, Aiden rushing to Daguerro's side, panicking for a reason she shouldn't know but did. No matter how hard she tried to swallow the feelings and memories, pieces of them floated up to the forefront of her mind where Nyomii and Aria could see. Aria seemed more attentive to Aiden thankfully, but Nyomii had seen everything, the concerned and suspicious look in the Espeon's eyes confirmed it. Natalia narrowed her eyes at the psychic type, the threat clear without the need to communicate telepathically. At least Dag was okay, which helped Aiden calm down along with Aria's gentle reassurance. Blaze sure was ticked off though, and lashed out at the Meditite before Natalia could really give a command. Then again though, the Meditite was a huge threat and probably should be taken down, and quickly. Aiden sent out Samoa next, thee Croconaw asessing the situation and turning his level gaze to Blaze and nodding, an affirmation of their partnership. He was with her, and that was a good feeling. Blaze nodded back in return before Samoa asked what the plan was, and the Quilava locked her gaze on the Meditite across from them. "Take that Meditite down. Hard." Blaze growled.
Before they started the next round though, just up ahead Natalia spotted an oddly colored Mareep bounding frantically their way. "Oh dear.... Oh dear....! I hope I lost her.... S-scary...." The Mareep wasn't paying attention to where it was going and ended up running right into Blaze. The Quilava shook herself off and frowned. "Jeez watch where you're going would you? What's got you in such a tizzy?" The Mareep cowered in the face of Blaze, and Natalia's eyes gleamed. It was so cute, she just HAD to have it. "Blaze, we're switching battles for a sec, take that Mareep out with a Fire Blast!" Blaze shrugged, not really having many qualms with the sheep for running into her, but she would do as Natalia asked. A ring of fire flew from Blazes mouth onto the Mareep, knocking it out instantly, and the Quilava somewhat pitied the frightened electric type until Natalia threw a Pokeball at it, because at least that meant she wasn't knocking it out so hard just to knock it out. She had a reason for wanting to take it down quickly.
With the Pokeball giving a satisfying "ding", Natalia stepped forward to collect her prize with a smile, however King and Aiden weren't the only witnesses to her success. There was a blonde haired woman outside of the cave staring in at the person who'd captured the Mareep she'd been chasing all over Azalea. "....N-natal....ia.....?" Isis breathed, and Natalia froze. The last person she'd been expecting in Johto was Isis, and it was sheer misfortune that the blonde recognized her right away. Then again, she did look a lot like an older version of herself all those years ago. Stiffening, Natalia glanced to Isis with wide, fearful eyes as Isis stepped closer. "S-stay back!" Natalia insisted, but it was already too late. "W-what? Natalia, don't you remember me?" Isis was insistent, rushing towards her former friend, but Natalia dodged her and immediately bolted out of the cave. "N-no... Not now.... Not now!" Natalia whispered to herself, exiting the cave and running to Azalea. "N-Natalia wait!!!" Isis ran after her, refusing to lose her friend a second time.
Blaze watched the scene unfold in shock. "Are you serious?! We're right in the middle of a freaking batt-- UGH." Blaze sighed with contempt and chased after her trainer reluctantly. Next chance she saw this masked bozo and his Meditite, she would lay a beat down on them that they wouldn't soon forget, but right now she needed to stick with her trainer. Nyomii was already running after them both as well, and Calliope tried to go after them, but every time she tried to fly off of Kaizer, she ended up hitting some sort of rock or bumping into the wall, so she reluctantly stayed put where she was on Kaizer's back until he could lead her safely out of the cave.

✦ ✦Panic and shock overtook Aiden as Daguerro was quickly double-teamed not long after he and Blaze had taken down King’s Scyther, the Jolteon unable to stand a chance against Froslass and Meditite’s combined strikes. Rushing by his beloved childhood friend’s side, Aiden lifted Daguerro’s fainted form into his arms, hugging the Jolteon close as flashes of memories that he had tried so hard to put behind him darted across his mind. He knew that Dag wouldn’t die so easily a second time, and yet… He wouldn’t even know what to do if he was to witness another needless death… Thankfully, Dag utilized what strength he had left to open his eyes, which made Aiden feel immensely relieved as the Jolteon began nuzzling him in an attempt to comfort him. He knew that even when defeated, Dag’s tenacity never let up, and he was glad that he wouldn’t have to bear witness to losing the Jolteon a second time. Aria bit her lip in worry as she sensed the pieces and bits of memory coming into sight, both from Fey and from Aiden. As concerned as she was for the girl, Aria focused her attention primarily on Aiden as she gently placed a hand on his shoulder and looked at him with deep worry in her eyes. He insisted that he was fine, though the Delphox seemed less than convinced… but she didn’t press the matter any further as they returned their focus to the battle. Blaze was pissed that her partner had been taken down so easily and so brutally, and retaliated against King’s Meditite with a Fire Blast before Fey could stop her. Though in truth, that Meditite was clearly a major threat towards their teams, and it needed to be taken down as quickly as possible. Holding Dag in his arms, Aiden sent out Samoa to take the Jolteon’s place on the battlefield. The Croconaw folded his arms as he took a few moments to assess their opponents, knowing that the Froslass wouldn’t be able to do anything against him no matter what attack she used. The Meditite was questionable at best, but he wouldn’t let his guard down even for a second while it was out on the battlefield. If they had been able to take down Dag so quickly, then he knew that they were in for a challenge. Turning towards his Quilava partner, he gave a nod of affirmation to signal that he was ready before asking her what the plan was. He followed Blaze’s intense gaze towards the Meditite on the other side of the field, the Quilava saying to take the Fighting-type down, and hard.” That I can do,”the Croconaw said, turning to lock his sights on the Meditite. It looked like Blaze had already done quite a bit of damage to it, telling from the scorch marks left on its body from her Fire Blast attack. If he was able to attack before it, a well-aimed Hydro Pump would put that onion-headed b*****d in its place. Opening his mouth, Samoa prepared to fire off a quick attack at the Meditite in hopes to take it down, but halted before he could unleash the large spray of water as a strangely colored Mareep came running in the middle of the battle and collided with Blaze. Needless to say, it didn’t seem like anyone was expecting the sudden interruption, Aiden gazing at the oddly colored Mareep with shock and awe. He hadn’t seen anything like it before, and it was certainly much different from any shiny Mareep… Fey was the one to take action, though, as she commanded Blaze to strike it with a Fire Blast. The sheep didn’t last a second as the flames overtook it within moments, and Fey immediately tossed a Pokeball at it as soon as the Mareep fainted. Disappearing into the ball, the Mareep was captured without a struggle, and Fey collected her newly caught Pokemon. Aiden smiled widely, about to congratulate her on her unique find when his attention was drawn towards a certain blonde woman who had arrived onto the scene, looking out of breath as if she had run for miles on end. ” Isis…?” the blonde-haired boy breathed, his eyes widening in surprise. He remembered that he had met briefly with Isis and her friend or possible boyfriend Zero at the Halloween Ball, but he certainly hadn’t expected to see her here in Johto of all places! He was about to ask what she was doing here, but blinked when Isis uttered a single name between pants as her eyes locked on Fey: Natalia. Upon hearing the name and seeing Isis nearby, Fey froze up visibly, telling the blonde girl to stay back. Isis kept insisting, however, asking if Natalia didn’t remember her as she rushed towards the brunette. Fey wasted no time in dodging out of the way, and bolted out of the cave as Isis chased after her. ” A-Ah! Wait up!!” Aiden shouted, trying to wrap his head around everything that had just happened over the span of the past sixty seconds. Blaze and Nyomii were already running after the two girls, and Calliope tried to follow after them, but had to remain behind on Kaizer’s back since she couldn’t navigate her way out. ” Change of plan, Samoa, we have to go!” Aiden called out towards his Croconaw, who was still quite befuddled after witnessing everything that had happened.” Really? Right in the middle of a battle?”Samoa asked with a frown, feeling disappointed that they hadn’t been able to finish the fight. If anything, he would’ve at least wanted to clean that damn Meditite’s clock like he had intended to… but it couldn’t be helped now, especially since his partner had already run off. ” Come on, you guys, let’s go!” Aiden urged, moving to chase after Fey and Isis out of the cave with Daguerro in his arms. Thalia, Aria, and Annabelle wasted no time in following after him, Samoa giving a frustrated sigh before he took off after them. Kaizer moved to follow after them as well with Calliope in tow, the Salamence flashing an icy glare in King’s direction as if to say ‘This isn’t over’ before he pursued after his trainer and the rest of his teammates.✦ ✦

As they continued through the cave it was clear River was not enjoying the darkness, and was returned to her pokeball. October wondered if her friends had gotten far, how long had she been battling? She really hoped the didn't end up lost in this cave, maybe rushing in wasn't such a good idea.

After passing the check point Yukie made the long and difficult travel to Union cave's opening. He could have traveled over the mountain but that would have taken much longer then simply following the well warn trail set before him. Past this cabe was Azalea town and past that goldenrod city and his final destination before going to the Sinnoh region. It had proven a difficult journey thus far but would soon be well worth the effort.

Following the lit path through the cave Yuie was making short work of the time left in the day. It was sure to be getting dark soon. so he had to keep moving as fast as he could other wise he'd lose all the day light once he did get out. The path through the cave had been cut into the rock itself perhaps by pokemon most most likely machines did the work and pokemon cleaned it up.

Turning the corner Yukie came face to face with a blast of sun light sent into the darkness by the now setting sun. Following the last few feet of the path out and into the sun light Yukie toke a moment to let his eyes readjust to the light. He had maybe a an hour or two before night fall though it wasn't that big of a deal as he could see the city lights off in the distance.

Giovanni had slept a little long in Violet. By the time he had woken everyone had already left. October included. All Gio could think about was her already challenging Bugsy and on her way to Goldenrod. He was curious though though how Fey and Aiden were doing. They seemed to be in quite a hurry to leave Violet but then again Fey never seemed like one to just stay put to long.
Gio was interrupted mid thought as he reached the dark stone archway that led into Union Cave. He turned to Lucario and gave a smirk. "Race you to the end" he said as he launched off into the pitch black darkness. Gio's Lucario was thrown off abit but not surprised that his trainer was making a game out of his traveling. Gio had done it even while Lucario was a Riolu. Back then though Giovanni had still had a Growlithe as well. Times had changed but it seems his trainer hadnt changed at all even if his team had. Lucario ran after his trainer in the dark, the Pokemon's advantage though. Was that he could feel and see the Aura's it was little to no time at all before he had caught up to Giovanni.
It was quite abit of time later but they had finally raced to the end of the tunnel. Gio paused for a moment in the bask of sunlight that failed to find the rest of the cave. Standing there he could smell were he was. The smell of Slowpoke and and trees told him he was in Azalea and not in one of Union Caves tricky ruins. He stepped out and walked forward a bit more just enough to take in the scenery

He was out of the cave, but he wasn't out of the woods yet. Giovanni recalled two big mushrooms that he had picked up sometime ago. He pulled one of them out of his bag and thought about eating it for a moment but he looked over at his Lucario who seemed to be watering from the mouth at the sight of the oversized mushroom. "Here you go buddy you can have it" he said to his number one fighting Pokemon. As Lucario are it the Aura pokemon began to show abit of change. It was at that moment Gio realized that he ate one of the Big Mushrooms that lets him learn an egg move. Giovanni was unsure about what was a good egg move for his Lucario but he remembered when he was in Sinnoh a Lucario that knew Blaze Kick and the trainer had said it was an egg move. "Alright Lucario forget Foresight and learn Blaze Kick" he said with a smirk as he thought of the Gym to come

As soon as Lucario had finished with his practice of his new move Giovanni decided it was time to push forward and continue to Bugsy's Gym. It was starting to get dark but Giovanni felt no time for sleep and was ready for battle. Surely after He faced Bugsy he could go to the Pokemon Center for the night. This time he would be up early enough so that he could make it to Goldenrod in just a few days and maybe even catch up with Aiden and Fey or possibly challenge October to see how far along she has come. No matter what Gio thought, tonight he was going to get his second badge. He started to run again and this time he had abit of kick in his step as he made his way to Azalea

Following the strung up line of lights that lead the way out of the cave the Rapidash made sure to move at a slow but steady pass. The pokemon knew where it was heading but couldn't more at full speed because with Sonoko passed out on its back it be to much of a risk to her safety. The tunnel only toke a few hours to traverse before the other end came into view. Rapidash was glade to be back in the sun light and out of the cramped and enclosed space.
