"ᴊᴜꜱᴛɪᴄᴇ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏꜱ ᴡɪɴꜱ." ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█ Leon blinked at the person who suddenly appeared in front of him. For some reason, he felt strangely at ease with him. His ears perked up when a treat was thrown at him. He grabbed it with his paws, pushing it toward his small mouth as he chewed on it. When he finished, he turned his round puppy eyes toward Fain. Staring at him in silence. Then, as if by instinct, Leon placed his paws on Fain's leg, wagging his tail lightly as he looked up with begging eyes. He had never done dog things ever in his life, so this type of behavior was oddly uncharacteristic of him. More.║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█ OCC:

Ƒaiᶇ ŞţrⱺᶆLeon watched the puppy respond to the treat he had thrown. He smiled softly and started chuckling as the dog came over and begged for some more. He crouched as he let the dog smell him before scratching behind his ears. It's fur is so soft. He smiled enchanted by the cute puppy. "How did you end up here buddy?" Not particularly expecting an answer. Only specific animals could he understand and that was only very rarely. He figured the doves that lived with him were an exception since they seemed different than normal anyways. He continued the rub the pup's ears before using one hand and fumbling for some more treats. He also looked around for a rope to act as a collar and to tie the pup up so he wouldn't wander away.

"ᴊᴜꜱᴛɪᴄᴇ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏꜱ ᴡɪɴꜱ." ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█ Leon gave no response. He didn't know how he himself had ended up here. He pushed his round head into Fain's hand, rubbing his fluffy cheeks on them before giving them a light lick. He didn't understand why he felt so safe with Fain. All he knew was that he loved his scent, and loved the gentle way that Fain spoke. The feeling of his hands. The kind look in his eyes... He loved everything about him. His mind didn't understand why. But his heart knew. Mine. He said to Fain.║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█ OCC:

Ƒaiᶇ ŞţrⱺᶆHe chuckled at how affection the puppy was. Reminds me of another dog, I once knew...He smiled saddened by the old memories. He continued petting for a bit before standing up and walking away. He returned shortly with a bowl full of water and set it down in case the pup was thirsty. He looked down fondly on the pup. The puppy didn't seem sick, hurt, or malnourished. "You have to an owner in your healthy condition, but..." He paused debating whether to keep the pup or not. "If you're here that must mean you have no where else to go too, huh?" He sat down cross legged on the floor observing the puppy as he rested his chin in his hand. "I guess, I'll give you a name...hmm...how bout Noel? Since you being here is like a present."

Ƒaiᶇ ŞţrⱺᶆFain smiled at the Noel, and continued petting him, running his hand smoothly through the silky fur. "You have to get along with the other animals if you want to stay." He held the puppy's face looking in their blue eyes, "There are moles, mice, birds, and snakes that come and go. You must not hurt them." He picked up the puppy and set him on the bed. He stood in front of Noel. "We will begin your training once you adjust to your new home. There's a friend of mine that needs a guide dog, and I think you would be smart and strong enough to protect her."

"ᴊᴜꜱᴛɪᴄᴇ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏꜱ ᴡɪɴꜱ." ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█ Leon wagged his tail once, to signify that he understood. He stared at Fain for a long moment, and then gently touched his nose with his snout. A goodnight kiss. He then laid down on the bed, and weirdly, he soon fell asleep. -time skip-
When the morning arrived, Leon snuck out of Fain's room, shifting back into his human form as soon as he was out of sight of anyone. Walking down the tunnels of the cave, he soon found himself in his own chambers. The study of the Royal Tactician. He sat down in his chair, surrounded by his books and documents, contemplating in silence what has happened last night.║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█ OCC:

Ƒaiᶇ ŞţrⱺᶆFain watched amused as puppy snuggled into his mess of a bed. He chuckled again and checked on all the animals that had sought refuge in his room. Some had been injured and some were hungry. He took care of them all before going to bed himself. ~~~Time Skip~~~ In the morning, Fain woke up disappointed to see Noel had wandered off by himself. He probably went back home... He thought sullenly before getting up. He once again made his animal rounds before stopping in front of Soren. The bird was staring at him intensely as he waited for his morning rat. Feeding the bird and held out his arm for Soren to transfer too. The bird moved over, and Fain hooded him before leaving his room. He walked out of the building and released Soren. It wasn't an ideal spot for Soren to fly, but it was better than nothing. Soren would follow him so he decided to go meet the tactician Luna had mentioned before. They needed all the troops they could get so discussions of more recruitment would be helpful to her. He headed towards the tactician supposed study and knocked. "Hello, is this the tactician study? Can I come in I wish to discuss recruitment of troops?"

Ƒaiᶇ ŞţrⱺᶆFain opened the door and stuck his head in to get a layout of the room. He noticed a desk surrounded by books and paper; the person barely noticeable behind everything. He gave a polite smile and entered, shutting the door behind him. He walked silently in front of the desk. He measured the person in front of him. Luna had talked about their intelligence and capabilities before, but this was the first time Fain had met him personally. He stopped in front of the person, "I believe this is our first private meeting." He nodded his head towards the man in the chair.

Ƒaiᶇ ŞţrⱺᶆHe adjusted in the offered seat slightly uncomfortable under the other's stare. Leon reminded him of predator animals that he had fought against in the past. Many times they were aggressive and difficult to train as they had a high independence and were often as intelligent, if not more than, Fain. He's going to be difficult to deal with."Luna told me yesterday that we should work together on the recruitment of members. I'm able to scout and send animals wherever you say. I also thought that since many of the Fae folk are on the Dark's side I would blend in well." He squinted at Leon in confusion. He didn't understand why his eyes were bothering him, but something felt off. He brushed it off as little sleep and that the room was a little dark.

"ᴊᴜꜱᴛɪᴄᴇ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏꜱ ᴡɪɴꜱ." ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█ "Certainly." Leon said, as Fain finished speaking. He noticed Fain squinting at him in a mixture of curiosity and doubt. Confusion. The look of someone who sensed that something was out of place, yet couldn't place a finger on what exactly was out of place. And beneath all that, was a heavy undertone of discomfort. Like prey struggling to maintain calm against the gaze of a predator. Distrust. Uncertainty. Hesitation. Leon got up from his chair, heading to his ancient bookshelf, taking out a dusty-looking book from it. Then, he flipped open the book, revealing a map of the Dark and Light territories as it stands. He brought the book to the table, clearing some space so that both he and Fain could see it clearly. "Here is the Southern border of the Dark Kingdom." he said simply, as he directed Fain's attention to a thin line drawn across the map, "So far, most of our recruiting attempts have occurred along this path here." He pointed out a small, almost unnoticeable path through a dense forest near the border. A well-disguised location. "I have scouted out this area personally. There is excellent coverage during the day, if our forces ever encounter unexpected resistance. As well, there are quite a few hiding locations, caves for example, that have been set as a temporary base for the recruiting forces. At night, the forest becomes covered with a heavy coat of mist. It is virtually impossible to find one's way around it, without some sort of guiding markers. To that end, I have marked various landmarks around the area. There are both pseudo markings and real markings, one to confuse the enemies who may have picked up on our trail, and one to provide guidance to our allies." He turned his gaze toward Fain, staring directly into his eyes. "But that is all a show for our opponents." He flipped to the next page, showing a whole new perspective of the same territory. "To be exact, our current recruiting attempts were tests. I wanted to know exactly who we were dealing with. We have limited information on the composition of the Dark forces. We do know of their leader, Queen Alyssia, but little of anything else. How do they think. How do they behave. How do they respond to challenges. And most importantly, who else is pulling the strings." Leon gave Fain a smile. "The key to this battle is not the number of men one owns, but rather how one uses these men to one's advantage. Thus, Mister Strom. I suggest you worry not about our recruitment forces. Continue doing as you always have done; train your animals, continue scouting in the neutral lands, and keep an eye out for questionable activity in our forces. Your role is important to us."
You will be used for every single ounce of your worth, Fain Strom.
Leon finished the last part in his mind, closing the book with a light thud.║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█ OCC:

Ƒaiᶇ ŞţrⱺᶆAt first, Fain was impressed and started to relax knowing that Luna could rely on someone as intelligent as Leon. However, as the dark-haired man explained what was happening among the Light's and Fain's own role, he felt annoyed and insulted. So basically, I'm supposed to mind my own business and not help him. He wanted to retort something back, but he knew anything he said would be negated by the Leon. He sighed feeling frustrated at his little contributions to the forces. "If you say that's all I can do, I might as well start now." He stood up from his seat looking around at the various ancient books. Some were Fae books he recognized by the language and from his childhood. There were many others books as well in different languages he knew from exploring so much. If he's read all these then how much does he know and what's his real purpose here. He can't possibly be human from everything that he has collected. He looked back at Leon trying to decide how much he planned for and expected out of everyone. "I'll have to leave the underground to find animals to train and to scout. Do you want me to go anywhere in particular?"

"ᴊᴜꜱᴛɪᴄᴇ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏꜱ ᴡɪɴꜱ." ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█ Leon noticed the gradual shift of emotions displayed by Fain. Interest. Awe. Satisfaction. Annoyance. Frustration. And eventually...curiosity mixed with a tinge of doubt once again. Leon shifted in his seat, as he watched Fain sweep his gaze across his collection of books. "Well, the forest I have mentioned earlier houses quite the selection of animals. You may find the ones you seek there." He paused, turning back to pick up a feather pen, scribbling something on a piece of parchment. "Though I suggest you go at mid-day. The patterns of Dark forces around that area seemed to peak at dawn and after sunset, with the lowest point being mid-day." He handed him the parchment. "I have detailed the marking around the area, as well as some emergency hideout locations. You should have everything you need answered here." He then gave Leon a smile, though as usual, it did not reach his eyes. "Please be careful, Mister Strom. I bid you a safe and fruitful journey." And with that, the conversation was over.║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌│║║█║█║▌│█║▌│║║█ OCC:
