Well after trying both on my Venomthropes, I've come to the conclusion that damp milliput is much better at filling gaps than Liquid Greenstuff. I'm finding the latter to be kinda useless in application, because it doesn't bond to the surfaces, has little strength, and shrinks at least 50% when it dries. Small amounts of milliput with a wet sculpting tool results in a very smooth finish which hardens completely and can be sanded to a nice level plane.

Created a tracker to quantify the progress I'm making... I know, I'm nuts. But it shows what steps, in what order I need to complete to get the army finished, and weights the progress according to the points of the model in question.

Two Carnifexes, both fully magnetized. The posing on the second one (left) is much better IMHO, I removed the centering stud on the hip socket so I could raise the torso up and to the side to emphasize an imminent heavy strike. Perfect for striking fear into the hearts of enemies!

Lots of airbrushing and block painting accomplished, but those make for boring pictures. Here are a small handful of models I powered through to completion tonight.

Looking good!

Minor point, maybe give the teeth a wash? They look a bit too clean.

Hmm, might be worth looking into. The Hormagaunt has a wash -prior- to the white paint to darken the gaps between the teeth, but I honestly haven't though about doing anything after the white.

I assume that the bases aren't done yet? I also have to agree on the teeth, they pop a bit too much now. wink

Bases are pretty much done, though a little clean-up is in order.

I tried yellowing the teeth a little tiny bit with a light wash of Seraphim Sepia on a Gargoyle today, but I'm down a memory card and pics will have to wait until later.

I've heard that a couple times, what's wrong with the bases? It's standard GW modeling sand.

Why not paint it?

*shrug* It's an extra step (two, really) and the sand is already the desired color and texture. If I were going to go nuts, I'd do them like the Tallarn and get the resin desert bases. I'd throw some grass on them, but that's a bit counter to the whole consume-all-biomass mentality. =X

For the record, two years later I decided y'all were right and re-did all my bases. Let me dig up some photos and I'll post what I've been up to.
