Jacobi Flameborn Valar Morghulis...
Something about the young girl's statements really smacked Jacobi in the face. They sounded... authoritative. Like, maybe wantonly hitting on her was a mistake. Could such a thing be possible?
Completely ignoring the woman's prompt, he instead began his own line of questioning.
"I'm sorry, your 'people'? 'Followers'?" He began, dumbfounded and a little concerned, "Who, exactly, are you?" He asked, hesitantly, afraid of just what the answer may be.

Memel looked between Luna and the strange man with confusion, her eyes darting back and forth. Even though Memel was not the best at coial cues, she was still able to pick up at the tenseness of the situations. She opted to stay silent, instead waiting to see how the situation in front of her would play out.

It was a pleasure to unwind in the Elegance Bar after an arduous day of training. While he rarely took it upon himself to converse with the other patrons in the bar, it was always interesting to hear the kinds of conversations that others were having. After a long while, Vel began to doze in his seat, until his ears happened to tune in on the voice that he recognized as belonging to Luna. His eyes remained shut as he listened to the interaction between Luna, another girl, and what appeared to be a frisky man. As Vel listened on, he began to grow a little hot-headed. The way the man had addressed Vel's leader was outright disrespectful, and he would've enjoyed teaching him the proper way to speak to someone who has authority. Still, he was reluctant to act upon his emotions. He knew that his leader was more than capable of diffusing the situation herself, and he wasn't ready to step in just yet.

Luna smiled. "No alarm." She dipped her head as a semi-bow. "I am Luna, leader of the Lights. Rightful heir to the throne. Perhaps you've heard of me?" She lifted an eyebrow, amused. She looked to Memel. "And this is my handmaiden, Memel. But I'm still waiting to hear your own name?" Out of the corner of her eye she saw a familiar face and Nodded to Vel in acknowledgement. She knew he'd step in when he felt it necessary, and she settled her nerves knowing he was there. Of course, she was also aware he could get very protective of her.... She pushed that out of her head and focused on the man in front of her. "And you know? I could really go for an old fashioned." She chuckled. "Everything in moderation, right?"

Memel looked up as Luna nodded to Vel. She turned to face the man, a smile forming on her face. As a childish girl, the excitement of seeing a friend helped her to quickly get over her self-pity. She waved at Luna and the man, happy to escape the strange situation. With a smile she landed in front of Vel's booth, waving happily at him. "Hi, Vel! How are you today?" She asked cheerfully, not picking up on the hotheaded air currently around him. She often found herself struggling to pick up on the social cues of others, and this was one of those instances. "I need your help!" She requested, sitting down in the booth next to him without asking if she could do so.

Vel drew in a deep breath and exhaled, feeling his anger slowly drifting away. It seemed like he'd made a good choice by choosing to stay out of the conversation. Luna sounded as if she was handling herself well, as expected. As the young elf began to relax and leaned back in his seat, a voice startled him back into attention. Instinctively, as his eyes shot open, he'd reached for his sword to repel the attacker. His grip on the handle of his sword relaxed, as he realized he was in no danger. It was merely the merry, ditsy handmaiden, Memel. The novice swordsman breathed a sigh of relief, thankful for not lashing out at her with the steel blade on accident. He crossed his hands over his chest and smiled politely at Memel. " I'm doing fine Memel. I guess today has been pretty average." His eyes followed her as she sat down in his booth. " What do you need?"

Memel smiled at him and then looked over to Luna, making sure she wasn't within earshot. She leaned closer and whispered to the man childishly, not wanting Luna to find out her plan. "I want to get Luna a pretty necklace. I want it to be pretty and sapphire. I got lost before, so can you help me find one?" She leaned back from him with hopeful eyes after saying this. Vel was the perfect man to help her, and she really hoped that he would do so. "I don't know where to go, though." She said in her normal voice, pouting slightly. "Every time I leave alone I get really lost."

One of Vel's eyebrows raised out of curiosity, and he reluctantly leaned in to listen to what Memel had to say. She didn't really seem like the shady, secretive type. His expression turned from curiosity to plainness. She wanted him to take her shopping? That was really it? This wasn't exactly the most dignified task for a knight. " So you want me to take you to a market?" He whispered out of both clarification, and out of disbelief. " Why don't you just go down to the marketplace? I'm sure you'll find one there." Vel leaned back and wrapped right his hand around his beer mug, taking another swig.

Memel blushed and looked to her hands, fumbling with them to distract herself. "I tried to do that before. I got really lost." She said quietly, embarrassed of her silly mistakes. "Will you please come with me? Luna's so nice, I want to do something useful." She looked back up to meet his eyes, a determined look in her eye. Memel cared deeply for her leader and she assumed Vel would agree, since he did as well. "I'll tel her you helped. "She added.

Jacobi Flameborn Valar Morghulis...
Well, that was worse than the worst thing Jacobi could possibly envision. In fact, that may have literally been the worst response he could have gotten from this woman. To say he made a mistake would be a dramatic understatement. His face clearly betrayed this train of thought.
For a moment, Jacobi's mouth just hung open in shock and concern as he was informed he just hit on the rightful heir to the throne and leader of his own cause. After a second, he lifted his hand and tried to talk. Still, for a moment, all that happened was a random series of stammers fell out of his face.
Finally, Jacobi cleared his throat and took a deep breath. Though, it still seemed he had missed a few of her questions.
"This man apologizes for taking such an informal tone with Her Grace. This man did not know with whom he was speaking. This man is deeply sorry, he never desired to offend Her Grace. This man will accept whatever repayment Her Grace deems him deserving of." The dhampyr then bowed his head in submission to Luna.

Vel's mind couldn't even begin to comprehend how the girl managed to get lost in their own base. It was best not to dwell on the fact, as it would only give him a headache. He had to admit that the girl made a good point, and the reward of recognition was something to be desired, but still he loathed the idea of being a mere guide. "Alright," Vel finally agreed. "We'll go and get a necklace." He took one final drink out of his cup and slammed the bottom of the empty mug down upon the table. The elf clambered out of his seat, groaning as he did so. After a good stretch to ease his stiff muscles, and a quick readjustment of his trousers, Vel was ready to set out to the market.

Memel grinned at Vel as he stood up, her eyes lighting up with excitement. She was certain that if she was with someone else there would be no way she would get lost. She faced Vel, ready for their adventure. "I'll lead the way!" She exclaimed, grabbing his wrist and running off in the direction of the market.
