Adri Neru They are not main characters, but there is some boy-love in the book "Exiles: The Ruins of Ambrai" by Melanie Rawn. Sadly, she hasn't finished the last book in her trilogy. stressed Oh Em Gee! Spoiler In White: Alin and Val! heart When they died...I was so upset. Espically Val, I was half in love with that character the first time I met him in the book. I went through so many tissues...;_; I hate getting attatched to book characters and the having them up and die on you. -sigh- : End spoiler
I haven't finished this book series yet...currently I'm somewhere in the middle-ish of the second book. Haven't read it in a little while though. Sort of lost intrest, a bit. >_>

Eol the Dark Elf .Adnamac. Anyway...another good series? Lynn Flewellings 'Nightrunner' series. Yes! Another Nightrunner fan! I absolutely loved those books. I was totally blown away when those two got together (you know who... I'm not saying who in case it's a spoiler for anybody). I mean, I had already been slashing them in my mind up till that point, but I thought that was just me and my mind. When it actually happened, my jaw dropped heart But what I loved most about that book wasn't that relationship. It was all the cloak & dagger / skullduggery. Now that was just cool. But, despite all that, I loved Thero the best. He was way cool xd -jumps up an down excitedly- Yesyes! I'm like...an uber Nightrunner fan. XD Not even close to kidding.
I wasn't exactly blown away because like you I had been slashing them together in my mind since they first met, but I was definitally a very, very happy camper. Spoiler in White: And I was so happy when it was revealed that Alec is half-faie! It just made me think 'yay! Now they can be together for a long time with lots of adventures and stuff! XD' : End Spoiler
Thero is a nifty character...but I have to say my favorite character is Seregil. He's just completly awsome. XD Yay Seregil!
Have you ever seen the Japanese art for the Nightrunner books? o.0

I'd suggest Nightrunner Series, which has already been mentioned. Its a really good series, and you'll fall in love with the characters (Alec!! I luff Alec !!). I personally actually liked it a lot better then the Last Herald Mage (Which killed me and sent me spiraling into breakdowns cause of the angst).
Ya... so... *coughs* Thats my suggestion.

As soon as I finish the book I am reading, I think I will go and check out the Nightrunner series everyone keeps talking about xp
And I know the Last Herald Mage series was full of angst, but I think I am one of the only people ever who doesn't mind angst that much.

Are "The black swan" and "Firebird" parts of the Last Herald mage trilogy? Those two are the only books our library has (I hate living in a small town ><)

Lunatic_is_me Are "The black swan" and "Firebird" parts of the Last Herald mage trilogy? Those two are the only books our library has (I hate living in a small town ><) No, they aren't. The three books in the trilogy are Magic's Pawn, Magic's Promise, and Magic's Price.

I've gotten confused with this topic. When you say "books with shounen ai/yaoi" what exactly are we talking about here? ^^; Books that are written in the Eastern hemisphere and feature yaoi pairings? (Not mangas? Or mangas? o_O) Or books written in the Western hemisphere such as Boy Meets Boy that feature boy couples?

I mean novels, written anywhere, that are not manga and feature boyxboy pairings. Sorry about the confusion ^.^;

Anfinity And I know the Last Herald Mage series was full of angst, but I think I am one of the only people ever who doesn't mind angst that much. I adore angst, hence the reason I've read that series at least 6 times and cried each time in the middle of the first book and the end of the third. A lot of Mercedes Lackey's other books have at least hints. In the Winds trilogy, Firesong is hell bent on getting into Darkwind's pants. xd Until he meets Silverfox and gives up. ^_^
