on a side note, i was wondering if it would be okay to open a thread in the chatterbox so i could edit and post role-play replies.
i've wanted someplace more private and secure to post replies without my role-play partner seeing them beforehand
or thieves that stalk the test thread to steal my post layouts. i'm just not sure if that's allowed or where i can post such a thing > u <;;
i also wouldn't mind people critiquing me. i always have room for improvement~

i used to be really into korean based role-plays,
but after a brief break from gaia, i've noticed that in korean role-plays,
there seems to be a lot more people trying to one up each other.
whether it's with their character, or trying to prove who knows the most korean without being korean ._.
that's not really directed at people trying to learn the language wholeheartedly.
i'm referring more to the people that watch a bunch of dramas and join a role-play hoping for a romance like the one they watched...

that's just my impression. now i'm obessed with The Walking Dead, and am in a role-play based on it ♥

Ahh yes. I've noticed that too.
I am a fan of Korean dramas.
Though roleplays about them are usually not as ..fullfiling.

yeah, i was kinda that way too. but then i was like, "who the cluck am i trying to impress? I DON'T KNOW THESE PEOPLE!"

i would see someone post something in korean, and then i'd do a google search for korean words like an idiot.
soon, i just couldn't get into korean role-plays.
they seem to either scare me off, or aren't original ._.

I always loved roleplays with a little angst and drama but those are a little out of my preferred circle.

The girls here love to post so just mention that you'd like some criticism if ever. Though here in Poems and Writings. subforum, is where writings are more critiqued. :3

i was thinking of posting there. i guess that's where i'll be going~

and you are totally right. they say based, but they're exactly like the drama.
basically, it's where fangirls go to live out their fantasies.
the owners don't put any creativity into the plot. all i see is flashy gfxs and coding.
the plots are always repeats or just really dull. but once in a blue moon i'll find a good one. but it seems to never fail; each and every one wants waaaay too much commitment.
that and they practically tell you how much you need to write every time, and that you need to post four times everyday or some shizz.
it's just too much. i wouldn't mind a fairly unique role-play that doesn't require my soul and demand i write five, 700+ word paragraphs to even be eligible.
plus, in korean role-plays, it's a fight to see who has the prettiest ulzzang or sexiest model when it comes to females.
not to mention all the characters are so hollow. they're your run of the mill weak, and babyish female, or brooding, tsundere male.
i just...i just can't anymore. there just seems to be waaay too much competition between gaians who join korean based role-plays.

i hardly see that in any other kinda role-plays. i mean, it's there of course. it's human nature to want to be the best or stand out amongst your peers,
but it's seems to be the root when it comes to korean role-plays.

Tsundere male + sweet female.
Classic plot.
(sorry to offend anyone)
Fangirls who want to have their own part in a certain show.
A lot of romance series based roleplays are like that but these are exaggerated and very stereotypical.

i also apologize if i offended anyone.
it's just my honest opinion. those characters are just really hollow when most people make them.
they don't give reason as to why they're that way.
i mean, something has to make them that way...
maybe the girl was sheltered or rich, so she doesn't or didn't have a reason to anything like a thick-skinned person whose dealt with judgmental people and bullies? that would make a person be naive and sweet to anyone for no reason.
that gives them some kinda depth. @ u @

Yes. I know its a stereotype for the rich girl to be a b**** or something and the average girl to be nice and sweet. But thats it. I know there is no such thing as an original idea anymore though diverse and complex personalities would be lovely. 3nodding
