It had been a while since Sparrow had actually gone to a normal class, so, absurdly, he was relatively excited about this one, despite the odd time. He stepped lightly into the room, giving a pleasant smile to Danny, ignored Roch and set his little bag down on the desktop. Moving around the front, Sparrow moved through the throngs of desks, slipping by Malodore, and gave the doctor a small nod, his fingers touching its shoulder lightly in a passing greeting. Then he slipped into a seat a few rows near the front, beside a ghoul he had never seen before.
"Good evening," said Sparrow cheerfully. "I don't believe we've met before. My name's Sparrow."

Startling lightly, "Oh, er, good evening to you too." She smiled back. "I'm Leo, nice to meet you!" She'd been quite lost in her own thoughts when he approached, but it was always nice to have company.
"So.. I guess you've signed up for this class too, huh?" Yeah okay, that'd been a really stupid question; why else would someone be here? "Right, nevermind me. Of course you are." She looked a bit awkward, slightly lost on how to get past her blunder.

Gradually, the bats quieted, lulled into silence perhaps by the suddenly apparent ticking of a clock located behind the large instructor's desk. It was claw-footed and tall, swinging pendulum ticking away the seconds. As the minute hand slid inexorably toward the :59 mark, the room exploded with sound.
The bats were suddenly in motion. They erupted from the ceiling in a dark mass, skirting just above the students' heads as they winged toward the desk with it's burden of small black bags. The surface of the monolith disappeared under their furry bodies, until one by one each launched itself back into the air, bearing one of the totes in its claws. They fought for air laboriously, until finally depositing their burden upon each student's desk.
It was over almost as soon as it began. The flurry of activity quieted, each tiny mammal returning to perch on the large armchair facing the far wall, crawling their way over it's side and presumably spilling into the seat. As the last bat arrived, there was a quiet hiss, a rush of air- and silence.
A pale hand rested on the arm of the chair, polished nails gleaming in the moonlight. The unseen finger raised its hand to the light, inspecting. A large signet ring bearing a "D" graced one long finger.
"Students." A male voice enunciated.
"Speech is silver, but silence is golden." The figure idly picked at one fingernail. "If everyone would please remain at their desks, class is now in session."
"Some of you may or may not remember me; I hope those of you who do have... improved," he said distastefully, "since we last met. You may call me Professor Darcy. This is, as previously mentioned, a class about observation. A skill which is of increased import as both your persons and this Academy are called into question by...Outside forces."
The hand fell limply to the armrest.
"γνῶθι σεαυτόν. Nosce te ipsum. Know thyself. You have all taken the first step by selecting what you feel best represents you. You are known in the present by your actions, but when you are long past, you leave behind you...legacy. Your belongings. How will the people of the future view you and your...scant accomplishments?"
"This is not just an exercise in self-knowledge, however. You must also know your fellows. You must understand what clues they give you; willing or unwilling, purposefully or in ignorance. Observation is the key to understanding your compatriots and your enemies."
The chair remained unmoved, the professor's face still hidden.
"The first exercise begins. Open the bags - careful now, because you've been trusted with someone else's treasures- and look around you. Observe the other students. Whose personal effects did you obtain? After five minutes, you may all get up and place the bag on the desk of the student to whom you feel it belonged. Don't concern yourself if someone's already placed a parcel on their desk- it simply means that one of you were wrong. It is my burden as professor to improve upon your many shortcomings, so let that be my concern."
He paused, sighing heavily. "You may begin as soon as you are ready. Please wait to return to your desks until I say so."
Quote: OOC Instructions: Below I've quoted each of you, as well as the contents of the bag that was dropped off on your desk! Please rp your student going through the contents of the bag and choosing/dropping off the bag on the desk of the student they feel it belonged to. Remember that everyone remains in their desk for at least long enough for you to decide before they begin moving around the room! If the student you feel the package belongs to already has a bag on it, you may chose to either put it on another empty desk, or trust your instincts and assume the other bag was the wrong one! Please use the following code at the bottom of your post to indicate whose desk you're placing the bag on.IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION FOR THE PROFESSOR, PLEASE QUOTE ME. If these instructions don't make sense or if you have OOC questions, please PM me. Thanks! Placing on *Student's Name Here*'s Desk! Contents of bag here

Well, considering they were going to be getting these things back, perhaps Taryn could have chosen some more blatant items to help her classmates. She watched as the bat flew to her, lifting her hands to allow it to drop unharmed and without any scratches herself. Giving a soft breath, she gently spread the drawstrings open with two fingers and placed its contents out.
First was a sharp tooth. A trophy? So this someone had to be strong, maybe a hunter... the good kind. She placed it aside.
Second were some random scraps of leather. Was this person a leather worker, or just enjoyed wearing the fabric? She glanced around the room and thought she had an idea, but could not be entirely certain.
Third came a small kangaroo statue, and Taryn smiled. It was... cute. Undoubtedly nostalgic for the person who held it. She wondered what it meant to the person who owned it, holding it in her hand and wondering if the positive feels she got were some kind of psychic transfer from use. Interesting. Now she was almost certain, but just in case turned around the room a final time, slowly. Leather, a dagger-tooth, a kangaroo...
Well, there was really only one logical choice. She waited for someone else to get the ball rolling before she stood herself, moving to a desk across the room and giving the ghoul there a small smile. A reaper, huh...? She didn't see a weapon...

Leo opened her tote, slightly hesitant. Alright, yes, it was unlikely there would be anything harmful in the bag, but on the other hand, this was Amityville and you never quite knew.
But thirty seconds after opening the tote, there was still no reaction, so she went to grab the first item.
Which was.. a pen? Granted, a very pretty one at that, very elegant and all that. But how was she supposed to identify someone from this? Everyone wrote in a school, even the worst slacker would have to put pen to paper sometime. But then again, a pen instead of a pencil.. it was a bit unusual. And the exterior certainly wasn't something every student here would like. So maybe a good clue after all.
The second item was a silver charm, a bird. A familiar bird, too! Although where she'd seen it before was anyone's guess; Leo wasn't a bird expert, by any means. Still, it could be.. Hmm. Best check out the last item before drawing any conclusions.
Reaching in for the third item, Leo grabbed onto something soft and pulled out a black ribbon. She deflated, slightly disappointed. Okay, this definitely wasn't the definitive last clue she'd been hoping for - instead, she'd drawn out something that was even more generic than the pen. Rats.
Oh well, that just meant she'd have to go with her hunch from the second item. It could fit, after all - all items were very elegant, and the boy who sat next to her had been very elegant, in Leo's humble opinion.
So when the other students started walking around the desks to deposit their bags, she stood up and put hers on Sparrow's desk. It was a bit of a shot in the dark, but she still felt it was a good guess, if nothing else.

TG stared at the teacher who didn't even bother to look at them, and knew the 'air' he was putting on. That he was above looking them, and maintaining that mysterious air that often was used by upper management or larger firms. TG respected that, and watched the bats work for the professor. Now those were some nice minions - and much better trained than his Cygori.
When given their task, TG waited, dumping out the contents and frowned. A tail ring. Welp, that narrowed things a bit. There were only so many students with tails, and for the heck of it, TG tested it out. The clip slid down pathetically on his tail, and looked far too big. A spiky tail ring. Hmm. Looking at the rest, he saw bandages, and then a poorly written note in red that seemed to show a bit of possessiveness.
Looking around, TG couldn't help but smile. Too easy. There was a undead further back, wrapped in bandages, wearing a red dress, and having spiky shoulders. Even more on the money was that it had a long tail. Considering it was an undead, he could only assume it didn't own too much that it would be afraid of giving away even a small piece of jewelry, not to mention that it was too dumb to spell correctly.
"Done." He said, jumping down from his seat and walking over to then eye the desk above and toss it up. When he heard that it didn't fall down to the ground but remained on the desk, he moved back to his own desk.
Could they just give him a A + now? This was just elementary.
