[BATTLE PRP] Death Pony Reunion (Candace/Invictus) FIN

She cut through his clothing, a task that seemed to not be unusual to him, yet at the same time, it threw off the blunt of his attack, the horseman stepping back to touch at the slice and the slight seeping of blood underneath it, pulling his hand away to smear the fluid between his fingers, almost thoughtfully.

It seemed she had a little bit of bite, and from this, he got a rather curious look on his face, perhaps the first change of expression Invictus had possessed the entire time he'd been fighting with her.

Was that a good thing or a bad thing?

"Ah! So you do have the ability to show an emotion." Candace grinned, turning on her heel in the sand in a direction different from the usual; it was a reverse turn, one that had the talon on Atropos' heel digging into him and dragging out as she continued her spin and hopped back away from the horseman.

She would not admit it but the look on his face had her a little worried. He was definitely stronger than her, and while she was doing fairly okay holding her own against him he was still a horseman. Candace was cocky but she was no fool; she knew when she was outmatched but she was not going to back down until she had to.

A cocky little thing, now wasn't she? Invictus looked up from examining his own blood just to get a rather heavy blow laid on him, countering with one that was...less powerful than he would have liked, sliding slightly in the sand.

He didn't like it when his attacks were thrown off in the least, yet it seemed after that brief flash of expression, he neutralized himself again and made to prepare for the next time.

Yes, she was cocky. She was cocky and arrogant and too proud for her own good sometimes..but damn did it feel good when he barely glanced her and she could go in and give a clean slide against his legs in an attempt to send Mister Pony to the ground.

Pach flipped Invi, but Candace didn't. She did, however, manage to cut through the fabric of his pant-leg, blood dripping out of the cut in the clothing as the Horseman countered with another shift in gravity to make the ground uneven - perhaps to stave off another attack, or at least throw off the damage of the next one.

There it was! Her opening! Candace grinned, taking advantage of him throwing her off balance. She spun, the first kick connecting with his stomach. The second sliced across his middle, the third came up and dug Atropos' talon into his leg. Atropos' gems flared a bright light as she kicked him several more times, though the light grew dimmer and dimmer with each kick.

Finally the adrenaline seemed to slow in Candace and she backed away, kicking a bit of sand for good measure. She felt damn good right now.

It seemed that this woman liked to strike hard and fast, and she did it quite effectively. But Invictus was not there to actually play 'nice' with her, nor compliment her form. Instead, it seemed he was finally inclined to make a move - a move which resulted in the room becoming increasingly heavy....heavier....thick...weighing down. It pulled down at Candace, and it was obvious that the intention was to keep her from moving at all now.

And if it put her down on at least one knee? That alone would be a good success for him.

The air felt heavier and she gasped, eyes wide as her knees buckled. No..no! This was just like before! NO! Nonononono! Fight it! Fight it! She winced, digging her heels into the sand as much as she could while giving Invictus a defiant glare.

This felt much tamer than the last time. This was not the same Conquest. "I will never kneel for you, Pony Boy." She spat, putting her hands on her knees to keep herself from getting down on them. She winced, nearly falling forward under the weight of the air. ********! Don't give him that satisfaction, Candace! "You couldn't make me kneel during my trial, and you can't make me do it now."

"You're bowing. That is good enough." Invictus said, his tone level, not boastful to the fact that yes, Candace was now below him, taking this time to finally get in a well aimed shot at her. He'd been getting frustrated with his inability to hit her proper for a time there, and she'd done far too much damage for him to allow her to play any further with it.

It was unfortunate the inside of this room was so small.

Still, a single, sharp, stone projectile was all he needed to use this time to get some good damage in.

Candace nearly growled, opening her mouth to protest until he got her square in the chest with a stone bullet. She gasped for breath and stumbled back a moment, shaking her head.

Screw it. Candace went for her usual tactic. She moved as if she was going to strike him with Atropos again..instead she punched him square in the nose.

Candace fights like a b***h.

It wasn't normal fare to be hit in the nose by a Hunter. That didn't feed their weapon - they got no FEAR charge from what.

So it actually caused him to pause as his nose bled a bit, putting his hand to his nose before pulling them away, smearing the blood between his fingers again.

Candace felt a bit of pride in throwing him off his groove. The next thing he got was an elbow to the gut.

Fool him once, shame on you.....

But he was less inclined to just let it go the second time she struck out at him, and if there was something Invictus could do.... it was martial arts. While his feet did shift the sand about, he could return a punch just as solidly as she could divvy it.

She received the punch to her jaw with a grunt, stumbling back away from Invictus with a chuckle. Cute. He hit harder than she did that time, but she'd live. How was her shield doing? Not well, not well at all. She could do this! She couldn't just leave.
