Merope surprised himself by showing up, peering uncertainly around a tree at the group that was gathered before the cave. He figured this was the right area, considering the amount of other students gathered there. His talons drummed lightly against the tree trunk as he considered his options. On one hand, he wanted to see what this "valuable trade" was. He wasn't much skilled in anything, and his failures far outweighed his successes. On the other hand, it was in a cave. Merope wasn't sure what to make of it, whether it would be cool or contain water (hopefully!) or whether it would be hot (hopefully not!). Either way, he wasn't going to get anything done standing there. Merope left the cover of his tree and looked around, spying the sign-up sheet and adding his name to it. Thankfully there were a few he recognized, namely Mort and Shehk. He also recognized Danny's name, and didn't bother to hide his frown. Hooo boy. And wasn't one of the people on the list some sort of fire dragon? At least there were a good number of undead, so with luck fire wouldn't be too much of a problem. Merope moved away from the list, returning to the tree he originally hid behind. Rather than hiding against it, Merope settled for leaning against it carefully. Perhaps he should duck back into the dorm to remove his fins? He didn't want them torn up or ruined... Quote: SIGN UP FOR ADVENTURE smile smile 1. Levi 2. Willow 3. Damien 4. Mortimer 5. Danny 6. Alex was fairly pleased when Yin accepted his offered hand. To the zomboil it was a fairly good sign that things between the two of them might slowly and surely be heading in the right direction. Alex was no stranger to slow, so that was fine with him, as long as they made it there some day. "Yes, it was posted in the undead common room. It looks...like it could be fun?" He had hesitated, but still smiled for all he was worth as though this was the best idea ever. Speaking of slow, once they actually arrived and Yin let go of his hand, Alex stood back for a time, not heading in to immediately sign up as she took a good look around at the other students and at the cave. He recognised quite a few faces, like Levi, Mort, Danny, Roch, and King. The cave itself looked quite...ominous, and Alex again wondered at how he had so easily been roped in to joining this class. Oh right, because he would pretty much do anything Yin asked him to. Finally he made his way over to write his name on the damned list. He was number 13. That was a good sign, right? Maybe everything would turn out fine~ Quote: SIGN UP FOR ADVENTURE smile smile 1. Levi 2. Willow 3. Damien 4. Mortimer 5. Danny 6. Shehk 7. Neil 8. Roch 9. Jericho 10. Yin 11. Frost in the Storm 12. The cave was not exactly anywhere he had expected for a class to be held - especially since it was on the edge of the forest - but Ren's interest had been piqued before he had discovered this fact - by the rather enthusiastic sign. It didn't seem to be written by anyone he knew, and was quite...cheerful, in spite of everything, and Ren had decided he was rather curious as to the origins.
And to what this "trade" might have been.
So, on the Moonday in question, Ren ambled across the school grounds with his hands in his pockets and followed the signs until he reached the destination - which was a cave.
Odd, thought Ren, but he shrugged, signed his name on the roster, and glanced around to see who was there that he knew. There were several unfamiliar faces, a few familiar, and Ren reached out a hand as he passed alongside one familiar undead boil, ruffling his hair.
"Hey, Mort," he said cheerfully as he went past him. "Glad to see you here."
Danny was here as well, along with Roch and Demi, and Ren gave them both a smile and a wave in greeting, leaning against a nearby tree and folding his arms across his chest, ears flicked forwards.Quote: SIGN UP FOR ADVENTURE smile smile 1. Ah- this was a face she recognized. Aye thar, Willow. 'Nother class we got 'ere, eh? At the mention of her tail, the white-haired ghoul grinned, clearly proud of that appendage's strength. Momentarily, she raised her feet off the ground, showing she could depend on her tail for supporting her weight. She took Willow's commentary on her "trick" as a positive one. kekeke. Don't got 'em legs back home. Just this'ere. Ain't nothin' stronger on a'tatzel. Tail-pride. She was about to get up to properly converse with Willow at the same level when she was tackled by a hellhound. REX!
Demi's mistake? ... Making her tail free for use again.
From her position on the ground, the thick white tail came around the boil's midsection and constricted lightly enough for a hold but not a squeeze.
Tailhug. Her way of greeting kin. Or in this case, kin without the ability to curl a tail back with her- thus using his waist. Weeeell, look'who tha' class dragged in. 'ere ta cause a ruckus are ya? Don't go diggin' no hole under yer feet, boil. She rustled a hand through the hound's hair roughly, cackling a hillbilly laugh.
More students seemed to be coming through and she recognized a few. Right now, she was focused on hassling her little brother from another mother. She hadn't seen Demi in quite some time so her expression was especially bright at knowing he hadn't been kicked out of Amityville for digging a hole into the headmistress' office or something.

Demi expected a few things to happen after he jumped on Levi. A whole bunch of hissing, a potential tailhug and a whole lot of sass from the ghoul, but not the strange quietness that seemed to come from her. it was almost enough to make him concerned for the tatzel, did she hit her head on the ground, or fell asleep right then and there.
but surprise, surprise; the green eared boil found a flexible tail around his midsection and a twangy voice flitted in the air. "Looks i didn't pounce on you well enough this time." he said with a air of indifference and his nose high in the air. His hands however were busy trying to pry open the tailhold enough to wiggle out. "And i'm not here to cause a ruckus, i'm here for the bacon vision." he muttered back defiantly before freezing up in fear of a certain pyromaniac's voice.
And it wasn't from the Voiii master. It had to be danny, of all students, Danny. he ears flopped down low to his skull in fear of the hyperactive ghoul and went for the nearest safe spot.
Hurling himself behind Shehk, Neil and the undead boil he only saw around a few times, Mott, Murt, applesauce.... Mort! "Hide me from the fire ghoul, fire bad!" he whispered harshly, considering the lot, he was fairly sure they didn't have a keen fondness for the blaze neither.

About a few months ago, the word Adventure would have the ghoul immediately signing up for the class and ready to go. Now however, she was a little more wary. But like Roch, she had decided that she had died enough times for it not to matter (that much at least) and at best, she would take away something useful from the class. With that, the frost demon added her name to the list, glancing down the list of names as she did so. Willow, Mort, Roch, Merope and Ren were those she recognised and surprise, surprise, Danny's name was down there too. Well, it wouldn't be the first class they were in together. The name Frost in the Storm did however, catch her eye, and the ghoul turned to look around those who have gathered to see who that might be. Unfortunately, there were too many unfamiliar faces for her to discern who it may be.
Rather than incite any rage from the flame demon who was busy being rather noisy, Edel elected to keep a safe distance from her and just wait for the class to start. Can't go wrong with that.

Jericho wasn't really sure who to approach, if anyone. Anxiously, he shifted his wings, deciding that it might be best if he kept to himself for the time being. Though, this thought was quickly dashed as he felt a light touch upon his arm. Turning, he saw Shehk standing there, in which he offered a sort of nervous grin. "Hey," he greeted in return, "Yeah. Seems so. But I don't think we'll be outside for much longer..."His golden eyes darted to the cavern nearby. Having grown up in the heart of mountains, caves didn't generally bother him. But he couldn't help but feel some sense of danger nearby. It didn't help when Demi had come freaking out over one thing or another. Immediately, his wings flared out defensively, and he took a more hostile stance as well. Was there an attack? He quickly looked on around, trying to spot signs of a threat.

She offered him a smile back. "Well, it'll be an adventure, like they say. I don't think I've ever gone cave-exploring before." she was a bit more of a forest creature herself, but she couldn't see the harm in going in and seeing what happened from there. Still, it seemed like there was a ruckus starting with Demi, and for a minute she thought nothing of it, just laughing a bit.
"There isn't any fire...." she said in turn, pausing to look up at Jericho - the only source of fire she was considering as one right then, noting his posture and immediately grabbing onto his arm with both hands, squeezing. "Jericho." her voice was calm, but insistent as she frowned at him. She didn't want to get too over the top with getting him to calm. That drew attention and as it stood, there was some reason why he'd said to not leak it to anybody else.
She was trying to honor that by keeping things on the down low. Her voice was low so only the dragon could hear it now; "It's fine."

Snarling, Jericho was ready to try and torch any signs of hostility. Hearing Shehk, his attention snapped over to her, but he didn't do anything. He didn't relax right away, as his eyes continued to dart here and there for signs of trouble. It wasn't until some time after she uttered that it was fine that he slowly began to calm back down. The dragon appeared to be rather on edge still, but he didn't look like he was about to attack anything that moved the wrong way.

She whined. A literal canid whine that was an expression of concern that she attempted to stifle. Still his outburst told her one thing - she needed to linger near him as long as possible if he was still on edge.
Still, it seemed like he was at least becoming less aggressive, so she wouldn't push it, just continuing to frown, letting go of his arm to nervously fuss at her bracelet. Glancing at the rest of the student body, she took a minute to try and gauge the reaction that he had just gotten with that outburst. As long as he didn't just...spook everybody, she'd let it go entirely.
Until he did it again, at least. As it stood, she needed to try and figure out what she was going to do about him if he got antsy inside of the cave. Especially if fire became involved.

Jericho was emitting it in waves, and she could barely manage to continue to walk towards the meeting spot for this little field trip, let alone turn and run the other way. When she finally arrived as close as it seemed she was coming, she stopped and put her hands around her dark, covered arms. She was wearing a thick black turtleneck, and black slacks to match - almost all of her body was covered in clothing, from the chin up. It wasn't her normal style, but it would do.

Once Shehk let go of him, Jericho let out a huff, breathing out a bit of smoke in the process. Shifting a bit as he was slowly starting to relax again, he scratched his arm lightly through its sleeve before turning to see another student coming on in. For a moment, he tensed back up, before quickly realizing it was Riley. The difference in her attire had briefly thrown him off.
"Hey," he greeted, still not completely settled. His wings were shifting uncomfortably as he stood by, waiting.
For a moment, he wondered if it was really a good thing for both Riley and himself to be here. Not only would they have an easier time setting each other off... they could both be sitting ducks here. By this cave. At this thought, he warily shifted his gaze back into the depths of the nearby cavern. It was definitely full of danger, he decided. So much danger.

Neil almost let out a yip when Demi took cover behind him and Shehk. The boil looked from Demi to Shehk to Jericho to Demi. Fire ghoul..? He looked at Jericho. "I hope he's not talking about you ." He said matter of factly.

"Sorry..." she whispered, wondering if it bothered him that she kept reaching out to touch him whenever he got riled up like that. Still, she followed his line of sight when he seemed to be working himself up again, only to see a familiar figure.
Shehk fidgeted nervously, looking between Jericho and Riley and almost...feeling like a third wheel now that she would hope the mindflayer would be able to calm him. Somehow she felt like she was doing more harm than good and her ears flicked back to reflect this.
"Hi." she greeted quietly, giving Riley a long look in regards to her attire, then looking up at the Mindflayer, brows raised a bit. However, she didn't comment. The look on her fact simply said it all - 'Why?' While she knew about the...issue, she still seemed more baffled to see Riley dressed so..casually. It looked like something she herself would have worn to lay in a sunny patch of the floor and read a book in for a day.
It was hard to compute, really.

Riley's brow furrowed deeply at Jericho's greeting, as the full force of his anxiety hit her like a wave of pain. She bore the brunt, trying to subdue it enough to give some kind of response, but all she managed was a silent, and almost sad little wave.
Shehk's hi was received with the same greeting, as if Riley was unable to speak for some reason. She was keeping herself shut down for as long as she could, if only to minimize the leak of fear and anxiety that kept ebbing back and forth between her and her mount. Shehk's questioning glance at her wardrobe was met with initial resistance, but Riley soon remembered that Shehk was privy to the knowledge that affected her wardrobe, already.
Y..ou've seen Jericho's ailment. Her private words were slow, faltering, and unsteady - as if she was trying, with all of her might, to hold her emotions back. We.. suffer the same. No one must see.
The sound of her voice was heavily affected by her efforts to remain calm.
