And my friend's mom makes the best homemade red bean paste dkjsfhkjdhkfjhldkhfh and fried spam and eggs I used to like....practically live at her house on weekends so her mom would cook for me.

she also got me to like fried bitter melon

and started a very unhealthy sriracha sauce obsession

I have the hungries now and all I have is frozen TV dinners. crying

There's this Vietnamese place in St. Louis I go to that has an awesome noodle soup with dates, shiitake mushrooms, and a whole duck leg, and it's so good that I'm kind of sad now because it's thirty minutes away. Then there's these sweet potato cakes with fried shrimp in the middle and some sort of fish sauce to dip it in. And then there's also this awesome place that has gooey butter cake, which you can tell from the name that there's no possible way that can be bad.

I love rice, so very very much. Sticky rice, jasmine rice, wild rice, egg fried rice love them all.

I also make brownies as my speciality. Double chocolate, triple chocolate, chocolate orange and I'm thinking about making mint chocolate.

I've had to make vegan shortbread in the form of a witch before, it must have been over 50cm tall because you could see it very clearly at the back of the large theatre it was needed for. It tasted good too.
Oooh and I made may day cake for a presentation.

I know it's not garlic but they are pretty amazing.

and yes, they are in NC. I've eaten at one in Raleigh =]

third: if you're ever near Fayetteville, I used to go to these places when I visited

fourth: have you tried using Lactaid pills?
my hubs uses them and loves them - now he can eat all the pizza he wants.

fifth: NC bbq is GARBAGE. always go for Texan (tomato-base) and avoid that other crap.
but the brisket at those nasty BBQ places is almost always outstanding!
