IKR? I figured that if The Dude imbibes them, they have to be good, and they are. I'm gonna try to make some with cranberry vodka for the holidays.

Anyway, haven't heard of two of them, so I don't know if we ever get them down here, but yeah, I'm pretty sure you can find Goose Island in St. Louis, so I'll look into that. Thanks! Don't really have a high end liquor store close by, but a lot of the local grocery stores here have liquor sections that are bigger than some stores, heh. I usually have to wind up driving into the city to go to Whole Foods if I need something a little better though.

@Ichi: Do you have any wine recommendations? I've been trying to like wine, but all the ones I've had taste like cough syrup or rubbing alcohol. D:

I usually drink dry apple ciders, but when I'm in mood for a beer it's Guinness. My friends say it's weird that I like it when I don't really drink beer.

and resident's love for the brew!

Well, an art anyway,
and as an artist
(with a little bit of an obsessive personality)
I deceided to try and understand it
with researching
(and lots of drinking!!!)
I even kept a little black book and filled it my findings
(and lovely drunken doodles?)

So much goes into the making of craft beer,
like one of my favorite breweries (Magic Hat) suggests:
It's just like Alchemy!
(not the shite Alchemy of Gaia,
but philosopher's stone type amazement and wonder)

Something one can experiment with.
BEET beer!!
Holiday ales with cranberry, clove and nutmeg!
Pumpkin beer!

Have I even mentioned Trappist Monks?! So amazing!

my suitemate made this godly raspberry and lime syrup which we added to some carbonated cranberry juice and vodka.

I love beer!
There is a brewing company near me where they make their own beer and have great hot wings.

My favorite beer they offer is only served from late October to February, its called the Griswald (named after the Christmas Vacation movie). It taste like Christmas! Nutmeg, orange peels, ... and like 10 other ingredants I can't recall. Its sounds icky but so good.

Worse beer I ever had was in Romania. Very dark beer, and if you ever been in the woods and smelted tree bark up close, thats what it tasted like. 5 of us shared it and still could not drink it all. It was SO disgusting! D:


At home I drink Bud Light or Miller Lite.

My mother actually got me hella ******** up when I was 16 - the goal, as I understand it, was to make me so sick that I would never experiment with underage drinking, and it sure worked. But now I can't drink alcohol with out a turrible scrunched up face, so if I try it, I go for whatever's highest-proofed so I can get drunk as quickly as possible.

I think my favorite is absynthe. Not weird, makes-you-hallucinate stuff, but some nice smooth licoricy stuff.

Yeah, you have to get the seasonals. There are a few breweries near me, just none all that super near. I go to this bar that's pretty much a craft beer bar, and it's right by my house, so.

Dundee, has a great pale ale .They also have a great honey beer.
