He didn't know why he wrote it, or why he thought the heir would care, but there it was on that small scrap of paper. And alongside it was the basket gift he also had no business buying, given his state of seeds; the minipet was asleep under its blanket.
Once the gnome had grumpily left to deliver it, Mortimer slid his awful replacement glasses off and pinched the bridge of his nose with a sigh.
He'd forgotten to sign his name like a derp.
Then again, maybe that was for the best.

Not that Mort seems to notice; he's too busy liking the free coffee and the free-er coffee machine he got; now he's got some spare parts to work on the robot hand!
