Infernities were an OTK.

Your logic fails Pirate and don't cite the Shogun OTK, it's stupid.


So you're saying Infernities had an OTK the instant Archfiend, Guardian, and Dwarf were released as video game promos and there was absolutely no information regarding the release of any further Infernities for well over six months after release? Do tell. Because last I checked, I was claiming that Infernities were the future back then and everyone laughed at me and traded their Infernity stuff away for Luminas and Rykos. Not even worth JD, Celestia, or Honest at the time. Then they became Tier 0 and I lost interest because of the fact that I would be ridiculed incessantly for building a casual Infernity deck WITHOUT Launcher, I put my hopes in Infernity being Tier 2 or lower so I could have some fun with it and it let me down.

As for Shogun OTK, I don't even know what it does. But if I know Konami, they will release a game breaker for Karakuri just to spite the Archetype hate.

On a side note, they DO, in fact, have potential. If all Karakuri have a similar effect, Konami can release any number of cards to abuse that mechanic. For example "Whenever a Karakuri monster is switched to defense position by the effect of a Karakuri monster, destroy 1 card on the field" as a continuous spell. Or even "Activate when a Karakuri monster you control declares an attack against a monster with an ATK or DEF higher than the ATK of the attacking monster. Negate the battle and destroy the defending monster."

This is why I hate competitive players without casual play experience. Too narrow-minded and quick to shut-down an archetype's future.

i predict the karakuri will not be great but unlike what has been said will still be somewhat powerful. as for infernitys i says lawl stupid over rated "meta" trash.

Chimeratech Fortress Dragon is a sideboard card at best and, to be perfectly frank, Chimeratech Fortress is supposed to wreck Machina Gadgets, yet that didn't stop them from topping an SJ a while back or even helping me take down competitive builds of Blackwings, Lightsworn, AND X-Sabers all in the course of a single tournament just last month.

CFD only works if Cyber Dragon remains on the field after being special summoned. To be frank, I'm pretty sure BTH is still at 2 and considered maindeck material for any legitimate deck. Needless to say, however, that Karakuri can find sufficient sideboard material for a stray Cyber Dragon. Solemn Warning, Royal Oppression, Thunder King Rai-Oh, etc.

It honestly depends, do you want this to be a for fun deck, or a really competitive deck? IMHO, go with Karakuris. If you have a few serious decks already, try something for fun. I carry two decks, my for fun deck is a Gemini beatdown and my serious deck is Glad. Beasts.

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking with Karakuri.
Scraps are shut down instantly with stardust dragon and synthetic angels. Karakuri are flexible and interesting, with great potential.

I've been off this forum for a while, but from reading what's been posted, I've had a change of heart.

Why CAN'T casual play be fun, that's the point. The OTK decks ruin matches with fast play style and arrogant decktypes.
I'm going with Karakuri, BECAUSE THEY AREN'T CHEAP.
The basic cookiecutter instant win decks are pathetic. They exist so ANYONE can play and win without caring about the game.

A few notes:
Infernities were known to be amazing the moment information on the cards that created the OTK were released. Now that the OTK has been dickstomped, the deck blows again. Yeah, it'll top here and there but, it's not top tier.

Karakuri do not have a loop, or any form of OTK outside of the Shogun OTK. Which, btw, is using Black Salvo to grab a lvl4 machine, Machine Duplication the Salvo, synch into Shogun three times and drop a Karakuri with 200 attack or more for game. Takes two cards to do it!

Chimeratech Fortress Dragon is a maindeck card. Only one good deck needs all 15 slots and continues to fight for space and that's Quickdraw. Every other deck sacrifices a slot for the Chimeratech. Competitive players will always put that Chimeratech in there.

You act as though casual play is something of a different monster than competitive play. It's really just its retarded second cousin.

The two cards you suggested for Karakuri still make the archtype fail to Chimeratech Fortress Dragon. If CFD ever vanishes into the mist then MAYBE the deck will be worth something, even with those. Honestly though, you've created a stupid one for one trap and a decent continuous. Those aren't game breaking.

Just because you were lucky with Machina doesn't mean it's a good deck. You confuse luck with consistency. You might have beaten your little local with it against other bad players but you did not show up at a YCS and crush it. Since the release of CFD only one big tournament was crushed by Machina and that one was RIGHT after CFD's release. After that Machina fell into the darkness. I'm pretty sure I already pointed this out in another thread.

CFD is far too big of a thorn in the side of Machina or Karakuri to allow them to win anything.

Now you argue that BTH, Solemn Warning, TKR actually matter. Guess what you've done when you use those against Cydra? You've wasted very good traps, or TKR to my special summon. I one for one one of your biggest threats to my advancement and proceed to push forward. Also, Trap Stun, Cold Wave, etc. You won't always have an answer to the Cydra play and if you do, you're holding onto them while not answer the bigger threats.

As for the new kid that just popped up...

Are we still making it out to be a winning deck, after both the judging staff and player base clearly acknowledging that the man was a cheater, hence why he was disqualified and has his name hung up on Konami's website under the "not allowed at events" list?
