*Hides her GGG Revered Elder ID card.*  Faerie won't exactly run naked through the streets, but she has done some fly-bys in some of those so-called "PG-13" items that Gaia offers here on this site. I tend to avoid towns and the forums, so I really haven't run into all that teen drama about why this Geezer is on this "kids" site. Not that I don't go to those particular places, I just don't frequent there very often, like I do here at GGG or at any of the other guilds that Faerie belongs to. It truly is great to be able to hang out with the adult crowds, that's for sure! 4laugh

Flame Knightmaer When I started Gaia over a year ago, that's all I ran into in towns and zOMG. One incident in particular was just horrible. During the summer pools events in towns had a female avi strike up a conversation with me. So of course the first of every youngns questions was: What do you like to do? What are you questing for? Do you donate gold? How old are you? So the answers went: watch cartoons game online and my PS3, nothing atm, depends on who and how I feel, 29. I swear if such a thing existed over the interwebs, you could hear a virtual pin drop. So then the next roll of questions youngns asked came along. As I can't remember those, I can tell you that they were about why was I on Gaia when it was for kids, did I like playing with kids, didn't I feel weird on an all kids site, yadda yadda yadda. So after I gave my grow smart mouthed responses, it's like she did a 180% on me! It went from basically downing me b/c I was a potential "ped" to how old she was(10!!!), how her family hated her, and a whole lot of other serious drama I was so not ready for. She wanted me to be her friend, friend requested, stalked my page for days. I actually stopped getting on Gaia for almost a month afterwards b/c of this. Soon I started finding out about guilds and things of the like. So I searched until I found GGG, Gathering of Adult Friends, Over 30 and Gaian, so forth and so on. I was like the perverbial kid in a candy store when I learned that I was indeed not the only "old person" who loved her cartoons and gaming sites. So GGG saved this oldie from the horrendous masses of bipolar children I'd ever seen! I'd join in the streaking, but I'd rather be in my female form than male. wink

I swear teens and the sort are horrible to deal with either in Gaia or IRL. I work in retail and I can't believe how kids seem to get away with all but murder from lack of discipline these days. On Gaia you have all the youngens either teasing you for being here for your age or trying to hit on you (had that happen to me once with a 11 yr old and I ran like hell) So I never go onto towns anymore unless I'm truely bored and doing bug and gold hunting, and even then I go FAR FAR AWAY from the populated areas. Then there's the kids IRL that try to act all tough and smart a** that you just wanna give them a b***h slap to the face and tell them to STFU and grow up. *sighs* Made me so glad my parents raised me better than most kids here.

Arashi V6 Dream @Uzuki I also have seen threads criticizing people who find anime characters hot! I was in shock *dies* I mean... WHY THE !@#$ NOT? I thought it was normal to be sexually attracted to anime characters, I mean all my friends are. We are like an old woman hentai club XD I don't know what is wrong with kids these days, but I definitely never saw a problem with admiring cartoon characters ^_^
@Black I haven't had that happen to me yet... But I don't usually talk about my age outside my guilds. I am sure I would be criticized if I said it out side >_<; They need to grow up! We like to have fun too! Heck, most of us have been on forums and role playing long before they knew what a computer was XD
Speaking of role playing! I have yet to find a place worth role playing here sad I want long well written role plays. Anyone know of a good place? I figure if kids are involved the quality will probably be low >_<; Heck I know the quality of discussion in the anime forum is pretty low due to them.... Or crazy high because of the avid otaku, which I can't handle either lol. OMG the first cartoon character I ever thought was hot was Darias friend Lane's brother... Haha... I think those are the right names. Now I could only dream that real life guys would even have a fraction of what some of these anime guys have! Seriously... I just finished watching maid-sama... and seriously... give me some Usui anyday!! ^^ Hell you are my new best friend and bring your other friends too... we'll have a blast talking some craziness. Hehe --- Isn't there a place to role play in GGG? Or maybe it was another 18+ type guild I joined that I saw that. Oh and by the way... I will watch cartoons until the day I die! You are never too "old" for that or anything related... so pfft on them!! Edit: Dammit now I'm all daydreaming about Usui... (drools)

BlackR.16 Whats even worse is when they find out how old you are AND THEN criticize you for being on here. Pft...meddlesome children... stare Seriously! I completely agree... that's ridiculous!! I want to be like what the hell are YOU doing on here? Especially when I've met so many 12 year olds it's pathetic... I'm sorry but isn't the minimum age 13? And then they get all shocked... "LYK OMG UR SOOO OWLD" haha... really now? Okay, kiddo... why don't you come back to me when you can write that sentence grammatically and then we'll talk about how old I am. xp

When I was a teen it was taboo to watch cartoons or anything like that to some of the idiots I went to school with. *eye roll*
I watch what I want.
And If I think Sango's hot, then damnit. She's mine. lol
One of the reasons I came to this guild was because I didn't want to feel like I was a old man among kids. Yeah, it's got to suck more for older men on here... because then people try to label you a pervert or something when you are generally here because you enjoy it. Although that still doesn't mean you're not a pervert just not in a ***** way. LOL --- Hell I'm here and I probably have a worse mind than some guys. Heh. AND! On a side note that's just not fair scaring away all the older guys like that I mean where am I going to find a geeky anime loving dork like me that's my age to hit on!!?? xd Edit: Really?? Kairanha I normally don't tell anyone my age even when asked because I don't like giving out even harmless personal information over the interwebs and I need youngins criticizing me like I need another hole in the head. On the rare occasions when I give out my age, someone else has first and it's like "hey! I'm old too heart "Uzuki: Corrupting the innocent is all the more satisfying d(・ω< )~☆ with all these people watching I don't know if I could keep my hands off of Tes lulz Haha I'm sure TES would enjoy that... but his girlfriend... not so much. 4laugh

If she was clingy like that she was probably also moody, childish, and manipulative among other things... aka crazy... so who knows what she could have done if you ever got on her bad side. Go, you guys for sticking up for yourselves! So far I haven't run into any crushes yet but I do get the occasional "will you be my gf" out of no where... literally... most of the time I'm not even talking to them. Heh --- So I assume they are young... "How old are you?" "14" "No." "Y?" "Just 'cause... (wanders off)" -end scene- I'm sorry but I don't recall that type of spontaneous question in real life being common without the following of a restraining order. And if that is how it works now-a-days I really am old! Haha.

Totally agree with the never too old for cartoons stuff. There's just too many good stories that come out. Besides the whole point is to be young at heart without going to the point of M Jackson boundaries and beyond. 4laugh

As for roleplay in GGG, there are some threads in the gameroom. They're going to be moved to the roleplay subforum in a bit, but currently they're in the gameroom. Here is a list of the current "Geeverville" roleplay threads.
And there is a way to stop having your posts censored. Go to My Gaia > Account Settings and scroll down to "General Settings". There's a section labeled "Word Filter" with a drop-down box next to it. Set that to minimal filtering and there you go.

I mentioned it because you brought up that "*****" was censored. If you have your word filter off {or more accurately set to "minimal"... which is practically off because I haven't seen it censor anything yet}, it doesn't change it to asterisks.

Another thing that really gets me is when you meet a pre-teen or remotely close to that age and they came from a spoiled lifestyle, never had a job or lived out on their own; and have the nerve to go on about how they're life is so hard. One of my friends is going through that with one of her room mates and we all wanna smack what remaining braincells she has left out of her.

Arashi V6 Dream I can't wait to have kids of my own! Right now I just have my students ^_^ I doubt I will ever give up Gaia or any of my obsessions because of age or children. One guy said in the anime forum that you should give up cartoons once you have kids. That to be grown up and raise them right you can't watch cartoons! I was like WTF! My dad watched more cartoons than I did when I was a kid lmao XD I know right! I watch cartoons with my kids all the time. Like Phineas and Ferb? Hilarious stuff. Heck, even PBS cartoon programming has improved since I was a kid.
