heres a few tips if u want any: 1. go to a local book store and buy a few books on drawing, or borrow them from a library. do not choose the ones that look like comic, theyr done by white people who doesnt know **** about drawing manga. i suggest the "how to draw manga" series, they have step by step tutorials that have very clear descriptions 2. if the books are not avaliable then find online tutorials in DA 3. after step 1 and/or 2 is done, stop drawing chibies and learn to draw the basic shape of the body as the book/tutorial tells u 4. keep practicing the basic body till u have a fulfilling feeling in ur hand (ull see when u get it wink ) 5. once u have mastered the basic shape, start doing the other styles (realism, SD, exagerated etc.) 6. copy work done by professionals to improve (this doesnt mean tracing, and after u have copied them, do not claim them as ur own) 7. ur on the way to greatness...

I agree with Shuuchi! The How to Draw Manga books are like..... the absolutely BEST things to read while you're starting to learn how to draw.

I'd agree with this but don't start off with a style, learn realism first. If you start off learning anime art, it will influence everything else yah do. It's like learning a bad habit, sometimes it's hard to shake it off. It's better to know realistic proportions and shapes and fundamentals because then you can exaggerate them, which would then be your cartoons, manga, comic book art If anything try this website and draw out the people as good as you can, try to look more at what you're drawing than the paper. Of course there's tutorials on DeviantArt for practice and yeah, check the library and tap out those resources. Find a method that works for you, because everyone learns different.

ok your off to a good start, So yeah, there are lots of tutorials on DA that can help you. I started off with realism, but I only did it for little while, then I went straight to anime. I have been doing it ever since and my proportion is all out of wack, so It is a good idea to start realism shaping first. Find some pictures of people you like and try and draw them, because if you keep practicing on that type you will get better.- just my idea sweatdrop biggrin
