Actually, if your alive normally you have more time than if you were a zombie. Because after you die from old age of a normal life, you may come back as a zombie for additional time!

     Well, you could keep a vial of a zombifying virus with you and have it broken when you are put to rest.
That would certainly make sure you end up a zombie.
