Marie didn't ask for details, she wasn't going to get into his business. Seeing the city bus up ahead as it stopped, she glanced over at him. "Want to talk to the bus? It'll be quicker than walking there." she said giving him a small smile.

Seeing the bus and hearing her question, he agreed. His phone, however, rang with a text from his ex. Swearing under his breath, he looked at it, then deleted it. She was starting to get on his nerves. He was contemplating getting his number changed. Looking over to Marie, he removed his anger and replaced it with a calm expression.

Seeing how his expression changed when he opened his phone, she bit her lip, wondering what was going on but she stayed silent. Pulling out her waller from her back pocket, she paid for the ticket to get it for both of them. It wasn't that much and she didn't mind. Sitting down near the back, she looked out the window, her thoughts wandering.

He would have paid, but she beat him to it. Taking his seat beside her, he put his headphones back on his neck, in an effort to calm himself down. He switched his tune to something a bit lighter than his tastes. "What a great way to start things," he thought in his head.

After a few stops and a few minutes the bus stopped not too far from the ocean. Not knowing if Matt realized that this was their stop, she poked his side gently to get his attention. "Hey, let's go." she smiled at him, trying to cheer him up a little since his mood had completely changed after he had gotten the text message.

He snapped back into his usual slightly happy mood when she poked him. He was too busy thinking of his ex to stay focused on the drive. Grabbing her hand gain, he took her off the bus to stand on the shore of the ocean. "It's quite pleasant here", he said with a smile.

She smiled a bit more when he looked like his old self. Marie stood on the sand as the wind continued to come from the northeast. "Yeah.. it is." she smiled again before going down the where the water met the sand. She wished she could go swimming but whatever. It's not like her clothes would stay wet for long if she jumped in right now.

His headphones were put away, he didn't want to damage them.He walked toward her, but messed up. He tripped on a shell and fell, causing her to go down with him, both landing in the water. "I'm sorry," he said after getting up. He hoped she wouldn't be mad; he had heard terrible things about a woman's temper.

She gasped when she suddenly came crashing down with Matt on top of her. The water rushed up around them, soaking her clothes before she started laughing. Most girl's would start screaming and what not, but she didn't mind the water. "It's fine." she smiled a little before moving, a shell was digging into her back. After a moment or two, she sat up before splasing him with water and got up, running off along the shoreline.

He managed to conceal his relief in time for getting splashed. "OK, I had that coming", he said after getting up while laughing a bit. He walked to her, angling away from the water. Squeezing the excess water out of his hair, he sat beside her. ((sorry, writer's block))

She stopped running and looked back over at him. Being soaking wet wasn't exactly that fun when you were waiting to dry off. The breeze came by again but this time it made her shiver. She tried to get the water out of her red hair before sighing. "Nice job Matt." she nudged him a little and then smiled, letting him know that she was only joking.

Seeing her shiver, he instinctively put a warm hand to her side. That was of the one of the many weird things about him. His body was very warm, no matter how cold it was outside. "Oh please, it could have been worse,though I can't think of anything."

She smiled when he placed his arm around her. It was nice that he was warm, despite the fact that she was freezing. Marie was usually cold but most of the time it didn't bother her, though people prefered to not give her hugs and what not. Marie hugged him, ignoring his words for now since she was cold at the moment. She hoped he didn't mind.

He was enjoying himself, not really caring that she ignored his words. People were looking and snickering, but he looked at them and they stopped. His look was a go-away-or-i'll-kill-you look, with a rather sweet smile. They left, leaving them alone.

Her eyes closed after a moment or two and she didn't know how long she had stood there like that before she blushed slightly and pulled away. "Sorry." she said before turning around and walking slowly away from him, kicking up sand as she did. Biting her lower lip, she shaked her head. What was she thinking?
