@Paula, Delphin was a specific dolphin that helped Poseidon marry Amphitrite. Basically, he is like a messanger and errand-runner.

In honor of the poem, Annabel Lee, The room by the Sea will also be hosting a POE-etry contest! In honor of the dark poet, the contest will be to write a sad, almost depressing poem, involving the sea. I want to feel like I'm going to break out the razor blades, people!

I think I mentioned it before, but I'm not sure about using a Poe poem in the room. The theme is Greek Mythology, and Poe definitely was around in those days. I'll add it to our idea list though.

I think the poem is also good to use. No he wasn't around during that time but that poem still relates.

I think one of the contests should be a riddle contest also.

Maybe you could also do ocean mythology riddles, or some trivia on sea animals.

I know we definately have to put a tektek contest in for the ball. Name it like the King and Queen of the sea tektek contest.

We could also do a page contest where the first person to post on pages (for example 25,500,75,100,125,150,175,200, etc...) will get so much gold.

You could also do a coloring contest where they have to color a god that in already having the line work and pm the mule. It would be good. Like how pixelated had the wand coloring contest last year.

We could also have a mule that isn't dressed up at the beginning and we could have a design the mule contest and that mule can lead into a continuation of the room (i do those very well)

We could also do a story writing contest and an avi contest.

How would we get the gold for some of the contests?

The annual ball gives us the gold. I have done this multiple times before. Annual ball takes all the gold amount and splits it evenly among the rooms for prizes, they also give 2 thank you letters for the tektek contest. This is guaranteed that they do this. We are allowed to have as many contests as we want.

Whims and I also have plans to do some extra fundraising. I think I have a section on the front page for it. Our only idea so far is having a 'driftwood sale' which would basically be like a large garage sale.

50/50 raffles do really well. They are good fundraisers. If you want I can host it if you'd like.
