Seriously though-- I will not be thrilled to see the guild funds going towards personal quests even if I have no say in the matter.

As for our room, We are still in debate on our fashion for the ball.

I was going to pay for my own avi, and not use the guild funds. I'd feel better about that. I thought these were just for the art people to get a feel for the characters.

What if we don't get the funds in time? *starts to panic* Hell freezes over if I'm gonna use the Guild's (and everyone's hard earned money), but what if?!

I didn't mean to start a controversy or cause any panic. I just know that some rooms, in the past, have used funds to create avatars for characters.

Using 50k or so in funds to do such a thing is one thing-- using large amounts like the totals of some of the tekteks is another.

I am well aware that some hosts can afford luxury fashioned avatars. I know a good many of you are likely keeping in mind your own inventories when making your avatars-- for those who do not have a lot of items/funds for avatar items I strongly encourage you to fashion your avatars more cheaply.

The same to be said for any of you who are -sharing- character accounts.

AVOID sharing accounts with any items that you could not risk losing. - Common rule of thumb on the internet.

REMEMBER-- a good avatar is not determined by its total value, but how well it is put together. If you are of concern that you might not be able to complete the avatar you are tekteking-- consider a redraw or getting assistance. Or as a team quest for your rooms avatars.


@Lady E: I was under the impression these tekteks were to be the avatars used by the host-- which is one of the reasons our room hasn't submitted yet. As we want to be ale to ensure that the avatars will best depict our plot theme as well as our budgets.

@Shunatsu: There are a few solutions. The best-- keep your avatar creation on par with your inventory/budget. The alternatives: Have some of the items (or even all of your items) that your character is wearing be recycled into prizes. Last Year the annual ball mule was fashioned entirely by the prizes that were going to be given out at the end. Its a price saving tip-- because typically the avatar will be depicting the theme of the room. And prizes are often nice when they reflect the theme.

The other is to borrow items. Not as recommended as the above-- but depending on what you are needing might not be so difficult. I wouldn't recommend expecting someone to loan you a multi million rare item-- but if you just need a simple MC or something its likely very doable.

And again.. I don't have any say on how people spend the guild funds. Only an opinion on the matter that I felt inclined to voice. And I hope that I didn't make anyone feel put off. Additionally-- iirc, the room hosts have the say on how they use their funds. Some rooms will likely spend more towards gearing their playable characters, others in art, and then contests. This is going to vary allot based on the individual skills of the hosts and their staff. i.e. a room that is loaded with artists is less likely to need to spend funds on art. Less established hosts with minimal inventories might find themselves without choice but to use funds for creating playable character outfits.
