Gathering-------September

Firesong desperately stifled a giggle. Dawnpaw was such a sass mouth, but he had spirit. And he may be right....she thought worriedly.

She padded up to Kindlestar and said softly, "If Snowclan and Moonclan don't both show up to this meeting, I think we should investigate deeper. I could go, as a medicine cat it wouldn't be as bad. Besides, I haven't seen their medicine cats in some time, and i'm worried that something may have happened to them..."

Kindlestar was shaking her head at the comment Dawnpaw had just made, her whiskers twitching in amusement when she heard Firesong speak to her. She turned her head to look at the medicine cat and heard what she said of the other two Clans.

"MoonClan showed in bad shape last Gathering... you are right, we should investigate further. However, would it be wise to allow you to go by yourself? Maybe you should bring an escort," she mewed warily. Firesong was not as young as she used to be, and she was worried the medicine cat would get hurt trying to help the others so far from home.

"I can accompany her," Dawnpaw mewed, raising his head sharply and looking from Kindlestar to Firesong, his eyes shining at the thought of an adventure.

Firesong looked at Dawenpaw. Kindlestar was right, of course. Going by herself could be dangerous. Dawnpaw was very capable, even though he was only an apprentice, but would he be able to keep his cool? He'd done well with woodclan....

Firesong nodded. "If that's alright with you Kindlestar. And of course, the clans may show up to this gathering..." Her voice was not hopeful.

Kindlestar's ear flicked as Firesong spoke. Her feelings were mutual with the medicine cat.

"I wonder if WoodClan and PebbleClan are going to be coming along at all either because of the war going on," she muttered, swiveling her masked face to the place where PebbleClan normally entered.

Dawnpaw flicked his tail, wondering if Kindlestar was going to allow Firesong to go by herself. She probably wouldn't let his brother go along, cause that would leave the camp medicine catless, but he still didn't understand the FireClan leader from time to time.

Foxtail poked his head into the Gathering. MoonClan wan't there yet so he didn't know if a single warrior from MoonClan would be allowed. He just sat hidden, waiting for the rest of his Clan to appear.

Cloudyheart's tail flicked with worry. "How's this a gathering when hardly any of the clans are here?"

(Nyah, i'm so sorry you guys, i ALWAYS forget about the gathering >.<;; )

Patchstar flicked her tail and all her clanmates stalked forward, eyes reflecting in the enhancing darkness, pelts shining silver from the full moon. After her clan, Patchstar stalked out, trying to hold her head tall and seem aloof. She nonchalantly leaped onto the gathering tree branch she favored. Licking a forepaw and rubbing it over her ears, she watched out of the corner of her eye as the other clans eyed the newcomers suspiciously.

Kindlestar looked up as she saw the MoonClan leader pad up to the tree and she nodded at Firesong to let her know that she was joining Patchstar. She jumped up the tree with ease herself, though feeling in distrust at being so high up. She nodded at the MoonClan leader in greeting.

"Glad to see you two moons in a row, Patchstar," she mewed in humor, her whiskers twitching in amusement.

"Whozzat?" Dawnpaw asked, his eyes narrowed as he looked up at the MoonClan leader, not sure he liked the idea of Kindlestar alone with the strange cat.

Firesong looked at Dawnpaw. "That's Patchstar, leader of Moonclan. It IS good to see her again, because it means that at least Moonclan is still there. I was beginning to wonder...

Dawnpaw sneered as he looked from Firesong up the tree again.

"So I was right then, Shortystar really does look like a kit next to the other leaders at Gatherings," he grinned, his tail giving an amused flick.
