"Seriousness is the refuge of the shallow."
Oh, did I tell you the story about when I first met Anna?
Since we're both from Northern Europe, my embarrassingly dumb school coordinator thought I should show her around (obviously unaware that FINNS HATE SWEDES.)
Anyway, so awkard-as-hell intro took place, I tried to gently reject her, not because I thought she was lame, but because I knew that she'd become a social reject if she hung out with a freak like me.
So turns out we're in like, all the same classes.
And we get talking. Turns out we like the same kind of music. The same books. So I ask her what her hobbies are. She mentions fanfiction. And I'm like O_O "FANFICTION?" And she's like "Um..yeah >_>;;" "What kind!?" "...<__< S-slash."
CUE BIGGEST SQUEAL EVER. - Oscar Wilde.

I'd say 90% of my good friends either like yaoi/LGBT stories/etc. or don't mind it, and the other 10% doesn't know about my affinity for it. A couple of my friends are bi themselves. It's not like I go around flaunting it or anything; the most I do in public is openly (and respectfully) support gay rights, haha. Thankfully most of the people I care about are open-minded and feel the same way.
I have two or three close friends who I know I can talk about Oscar Wilde, Brokeback Mountain, and No Night is Too Long with though ;DD

Project "convert-young-girl-to-BL-fandom" is going very well. Today she begged me to show her JJR 8D Boy am I proud! I think I need to start with like, something lighter like Loveless and Gravitation (Manga, not anime).
Point is, SHE SQUEALED AT YUKI AND SHUICHI SNOGGING~
I feel like a proud mother or something whee heart

mmm I can say a greater population of my friends are fine with it or like BL =w= My guy friends still freak out about it when a picture acidently slips out of my binder. But I always tell them "Better two dudes making out than two dudes doing it in bed...=w=;;; " So in a way they like that I'm into shounen ai not yaoi....XDD

Im all alone ninja No one offline really knows what Yaoi is (except for my sister, whom I converted but we never talk about it) and consider what I read stupid, same with anime (I said I liked Naruto and the gave me a "WTF go away freak" sort of look) But I have allies on Gaia!

Really only my high school friends know that I like anime at all, and out of those my four best friends know I like yaoi. And three of them like it too (and two were converted by me in middle school 8D). We talk about it all the time, it's pretty amazing.

My friends don't know that I like yaoi or yuri. & I probably won't tell them, haha. They get grossed out when the accidentally stumble upon it. Also, only a couple of my friends watch anime.

I only have one friend that knows what yaoi is, and she moved away so I don't have anyone else to talk/watch it with. The other friends I have I wouldn't even mention it to since they think it's always funny to tell anyone around them private things about other people crying

well for many years i told no one. but then i found out one of my best friends is into yaoi too!! and we were both " What... you too!!!!" and then my other friend kind of figured it out and she said, "where do i find this?" and now we all are into it. we probably should have talked it out sooner. we didn't find out until after high school.
