WIP shot, click for bigger version. Right now I'm picking out the details, cleaning things up and working on a good way to weather this sexy beast. Once she's done weathered I can stick the Punishers under the wings along with the ammo drums and it should be done. Oh yeah, the cockpit and crew are still WIP as well.

And yes the white looks crap, it usually takes about ten thin coats for me to get it right.

Could you do a comparison shot of the Vulture next to a Valkyrie? I'm curious.

The Valkyrie is obviously a bulkier model and slightly wider, their length is about the same.

Right you are, the Vulture is a dedicated gunship.

Thanks Mel, that's quite interesting. How does the model fit onto its flying stand? Is it wonky or does it stay put?

Well, that the hole has black paint in it has helped with the fit, but it also helps to push it down a wee bit with some force. At first I feared that it would easily tip off but right now I'm betting it's as tight a fit as with the Valkyries.

So how's she coming along?

I've been giving the Tamiya weathering kits a try, weathering these things is tricky as hell for someone as inept with a brush as me.

Powders seem to be the way to go according to all these how-to guides on-line.

I bought a flask of Vallejo pigment that I'm going to try sponging on later this week. If it works I'll be a happy git.
