An employee at my local gw says cola works wonders.Hwoever he also said he hasn'it tried it on plastic models.I wouldn't use it on plastic models if I were you.but I might try it on some of the metal ones.

Cola will dissolve nails, let alone pewter...

I saw a GW tutorial that says 3 to 4 days, but overnight should be fine in brake fluid. If you're using plastic figures though, that'd melt them, so use Simple Green. That's the product name, not slang for anything.
