I knew of scaling, but I don't do it, due to my moral fiber.

There's nothing wrong with it, so you shouldn't feel bad xD You aren't stealing or doing anything illegal, you're just making sure you get the most for your money like any smart consumer would :3
If you don't want to scale then that's alright, it's completely your choice xD It's just obviously better to do so, for your wallet and your collection ~ <3

There is absolutely something wrong with it in my eyes.
Packs are meant to be a random collection of rares and holos. When you scale, you're taking the holos for yourself and leaving the janky rares for whatever honest comsumer that doesn't happen to scale to pick up.
I think it's a shady tactic, and is akin to cheating a sort of lottery. You aren't supposed to get holos all the time, and other players suffer for your greedy ambitions to be fulfilled. Those packs full of jank rares you leave don't just "Go away" and get replaced; Someone else is going to buy those packs and get your leftovers.
What's truly despicable is when shop owners scale their packs in order to sell the holos opened, then sell the packs as if they were untampered with. Hence why I only buy singles.
TL;DR: Scaling is a self-satisfying behavior that gives you benefit, at the expense of others. If something benefits you at someone else's expense, in my eyes, it's morally wrong. But you can form your own opinions...

x Mydia x ONE THING. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANYONE POSTING STUFF LIKE, "BLAH BLAH BLAH SCALING IS WRONG BLAH BLAH BLAH...".
It is 100% legal, and is just plain smart. That is all I will say on this issue. If you have a problem scaling, keep it to yourself; DO NOT post it here. I hate to have to quote myself but it appears you refused to read or just plain ignored my only request here. The point of this thread is to inform my fellow guild members about simple money and time saving methods that they can use to stay on top of an expensive hobby with minimal cash output. I will NOT have it turned into a debate topic of morals. Obviously people like you and people like me will never see eye to eye, so let's not beat a dead horse. It is your right to have to have an opinion, but you can and will respect my choices as I do yours. If you have a problem with scaling, I will say this once and ONLY once more: Keep it to yourself; DO NOT post it here. Thank you.

If you're worried about critisism, don't pass opinion off as fact.

Matt Blue If you're worried about critisism, don't pass opinion off as fact. It is 100% fact that it is not illegal. That is all I mean and all I touch upon when I say that scaling is not "wrong". I thought I made that clear enough before, but if I didn't, I am now. Just for the record, I am not the least bit worried about criticism towards myself. People's opinions of my being and my lifestyles mean little or nothing to me, hence why I refuse to get into arguments about it (this goes beyond the issue of scaling). Like I said, to argue points such as this is beating a dead horse. I am, however, concerned with the well being of this thread. I do not want it to get locked or deleted for bickering over morals between scalers and non-scalers. I want it to remain open and available for reference and information for those who are interested in it. If that does not include you, then please leave. Your statements of how you are against it contribute nothing to the topic and only promote confrontations with those who are for it. I posted the things I quoted above for a reason, and that reason is to prevent such confrontations. Respect my request and my choices as I have with yours, and please leave the scaling thread to the scalers. No one is asking for your opinion on the morals of the subject or forcing you to post here, and I say that with the utmost respect. A thread meant to be informative of a practice you are against is just not the place for you. Once again, thank you.

personally its good info, but i won't use it. i like the feel of excitement that it brings and i like the normal rares too. Everything can be used, if not now, later. Marionette mite or cheerful coffin for example.
just my opinion 3nodding

Dracomancer Barrelex personally its good info, but i won't use it. i like the feel of excitement that it brings and i like the normal rares too. Everything can be used, if not now, later. Marionette mite or cheerful coffin for example. just my opinion 3nodding Oh I know that there are lots of commons and rares that are highly playable currently, and several waiting for a use. It's just that if I am going to spend $3.99 + tax for a pack of cardboard, I would at the very least like to get something of equal value, you know? xD Then again, this game and eBay in general is my job as well as hobby, so profiting or at least breaking even is obviously more important to me than someone who plays purely for fun 3nodding On a side note, I'm glad you find this information helpful even if you have no use for it x3 It lets me know that I did a good job putting it together, and that makes the hour or so I put into typing it up completely worth it :3 My only other wish is that someone, even if just one person, can take this and use it to their advantage, and be better off for it ~ <3

Wow, that's pretty cool O_o I've seen only one other person that could do that accurately almost every single time and it always amazed me. My senses aren't acute enough to feel such a small difference from pack to pack. Congrats to you! x3
