Secrets of the Gate

" are you ready to go with me?" she felt her left arm burn painfully a little and she quickly pulled on her jacket. she pulled something from her pocket and held out a closed fist at first. she looked so sickly serious.

"Fine....I will go with you..." Edward said silently, looking back just as serious.

Luna sighed relieved. she would have taken him even if he had refused- edward was born for this task. She opend her fist, revealing to him a silver ring with a red gem mounted on it. it was glowing brightly. " then you will need this- this is the purest gem of its kind and could never be manufactured by mankind" she held it out for him to take. " do not use it for personel gain, it wont bring back you arm or your leg." she paused. " and besides you cannot go safely beyond the gate with out it." luna finished. The black feline jumped from roys shoulder and rubbed against edwards leg. and the siamese ran forward to the door.
" lets go, follow me and do not beleive any thing you see- the gate will play many tricks on your eyes." she opened the door. the looked at roy again. "thanks, as soon as king bradly dies- i plan on promoting you." she winked at him. he smiled back. " be careful"
"cmon edo" she disapeared out the door.
"we must go, someone is knocking at the Gate...."

Edward follwed her, nodding ever now and then...he was so confused by all this...
He took the ring and put it in his pocket.

She turned her head as she walked. "That ring.. that is the philosophers stone- sorry - forgot to tell you that." she sounded rushed. all this had to be a baot load for him, but chaos was begining let loose upon both worlds slowly. there wasnt much time left.
she lead him out of the building and kept going till they were outside central's territory. It was a heavilly wooded area and the sky was still dark, twinkling stars shone over head them as they marched on. she could feel the cool breeze waft across her skin as she moved forward. she looked back every now and then to make sure edward was pollowing her. She felt a pain in her chest- the full moon was getting closer and the symbol on her wrist burned. she pulled her jacket around her more.

A thick fog seemed to appear out of no where, rolling in around them slowly accompanied by a slow rumbling - that sounded like thunder.
from just a few yards they could see it. the great stone doors where many evils have been released, many consequences have benn dealt.. and where many debts have been paid.... as they inched closer the inscribed words upon the door became visable...

ABANDON ALL HOPE, YE WHO ENTER HERE...

Edward gulped before following her in...

they stood at the gate. " now.." she faced him." that ring that you wear, do you recognize it??" she pointed out. she held her hand out showing him hers- it began to glow fiercly. he looked scared- " I thought you were the 'fearless leader'?" she looked sceptic. " this time you dont have to die to enter the gate..." she paused. " do you recognize the stone?"

Edward glarred and looked around determined.
"It's the philosopher's stone." he said fiercly.

" good." she paused " Now put the damn thing on your finger or the gate will tear you apart and you'll come out even shorter than you are now!!" She said aggravated.

A sharp pain shot up her arm and seemed to eminated through out her entire body. she grabbed her stomache, wincing in pain. she felt something harden in her mouth. she quickly put a hand over her mouth and turned away from edward.

Edward grolwed and pulled the ring on his finger.
Then he gasped in horror as he watched her squirm around wildly.

as she turned back to edward she spat out a red stone from her mouth. ' its already happening!' her mind screamed in horror. she reached forward grabbing edwards hand and pressing it upon the stone gate. " put forth your energy" she said softly. the then clapped her hands and thrust both her hands upon the door and a blinding light flared as it began to open. the " sins are begining to retaliate! other wise the gate would usually open freely!" she had to speak over the hissing of the door as it was forced open. the gate opened and a black tendrill siezed eds arm, with out thinking she grabbed it.
was that fear that edward see flash across her face?
